Oeffentlichkeitskampagne 'Klimagas-Minderung im Strassenverkehr' Abschlussbericht

Low-friction tyres and oils as well as ecological driver training have proven to hold a considerable short-term CO_2 reduction potential. By starting an initiative for the ''reduction of CO_2 emissions from road traffic'' DUH has made a substantial contribution to implementing short-term measures in road traffic. Especially the workshop for fleet managers has provided important insights for the implementation of short-term measures. DUH has succeeded in presenting itself as professional partner of the Federal Environmental Office as well as a representative of the automobile, crude oil and tyre industry. This cooperation will facilitate the future implementation of climate protection measures in the area of road traffic. The intensive exchange of experience and the information collected in the course of the project have prepared the ground for further activities by other organisations. The German-American cooperation with environmental associations and environmental authorities has demonstrated the expedience of the ''Cars and Climate'' network. All parties involved have indicated their interest in continuing the project if there is a sufficient financial and organisational basis. Furthermore, all partners would greatly welcome an expansion of the existing network to the European level.Es hat sich herausgestellt, dass die kurzfristigen CO_2-Minderungsmassnahmen Leichtlaufreifen und -oele sowie oekologisches Fahrertraining ein sehr grosses CO_2-Minderungspotential besitzen, bei dessen Ausschoepfung noch grosse Entwicklungsmoeglichkeiten bestehen. Mit der Gruendung der Initiative 'CO_2-Minderung im Strassenverkehr' konnte die DUH einen wesentlichen Beitrag zur Umsetzung kurzfristiger Massnahmen im Strassenverkehr leisten. Vor allem der Workshop fuer Flottenmanager, brachte neue wichtige Erkenntnisse fuer die konkrete Umsetzung der kurzfristigen Massnahmen. Die DUH konnte sich als professioneller Partner fuer das Umweltbundesamt und Vertreter der Automobil-, Mineraloel- und Reifenindustrie praesentieren. Diese Zusammenarbeit wird in Zukunft die Umsetzung von Klimaschutzmassnahmen im Strassenverkehr vereinfachen. Der intensive Erfahrungsaustausch und die zusammengetragenen Informationen legten bereits im Projektverlauf den Grundstein fuer weitere Aktivitaeten anderer Organisationen. Die deutsch-amerikanische Zusammenarbeit mit Umweltverbaenden und Umweltbehoerden zeigt die Notwendigkeit fuer das Netzwerk 'Cars and Climate'. Die Fortfuehrung der Kampagne wird von allen Seiten ausdruecklich begruesst, sofern die finanziellen und organisatorischen Voraussetzungen dafuer geschaffen werden koennen. Eine Ausdehnung des Netzwerks auf europaeischer Ebene wurde von allen Partnern als sehr wuenschenswert angesehen.
