Advances in biomedical engineering: a call for enhancing empirical research

Advances in biomedical engineering (BME) imply the existence of research groups working in multidisciplinary teams to understand physiological processes and develop methods and tools for diagnostics and therapeutics. Multidisciplinary teams include physicians, biologists, physicists, mathematicians and engineers from different disciplines: electrical and electronics, computer sciences, materials, mechanical, chemical, among others. Lately, BME has become a bridge joining these disciplines. Multiple Person Localization Based on Their Vital Sign Detection Using UWB Sensor

In the past period, great efforts have been made to develop methods for through an obstacle detection of human vital signs such as breathing or heart beating. For that purpose, ultra-wideband (UWB) radars operating in the frequency band DC-5 GHz can be used as a proper tool. The basic principle of respiratory motion detection consists in the identification of radar signal components possessing a significant power in the frequency band 0.2–0.7 Hz (frequency band of human respiratory rate) corresponding to a constant bistatic range between the target and radar. To tackle the task of detecting respiratory motion, a variety of methods have been developed. However, the problem of person localization based on his or her respiratory motion detection has not been studied deeply. In order to fill this gap, an approach for multiple person localization based on the detection of their respiratory motion will be introduced in this chapter

Settlers of Catan

In this thesis, we work on implementation of the board game Settlers of Ca- tan and artifitial intelligence playing this game. The artificial intelligence is based on a combination of expectimax and reinforcement learning. Using reinforcement learning, we have been able to develop an agent who can play reasonably. We ma- naged to improve the policy learned by reinforcement learning using expectimax. The resulting agent is able to win aganist average human player.V této práci se zabýváme implementací stolní hry Osadníci z Katanu a umělé inteligence hrající tuto hru. Umělá inteligence je založena na kombinaci expecti- maxu a zpětnovazebního učení. S využitím zpětnovazebního učení se nám podařilo vyvinout agenta, který zvládá rozumně hrát. Strategii naučenou zpětnovazebním učením jsme úspěšně vylepšili využitím expectimaxu. Analysis of Population's Satisfaction with Level of Leisure Sport Activities in the Town

Cílem této bakalářské práce je zanalyzovat možnosti sportovního vyžití obyvatel města Karviné, zjistit, zda jsou spokojeni s nabídkou sportovišť a sportů ve městě, jaké sporty obyvatelé nejčastěji provozují a zda jsou spokojeni s celkovou situací sportu ve městě. Práce se skládá ze dvou částí, a to teoretické a praktické. V první části se práce zabývá vymezením základních pojmů, které se týkají dané problematiky a následně jsou tyto pojmy aplikovány v praktické části. V praktické části práce popisuje prostředí, kde bylo prováděno výzkumné šetření a také výčet oblastí sportovního vyžití, které město nabízí. K dosažení cíle práce bylo využito metody rozhovoru, kvantitativního dotazníkového šetření a SWOT analýzy. Z výsledků uskutečněného výzkumného šetření bylo zjištěno, že obyvatelé města Karviné jsou převážně spokojeni s nabídkou sportovního vyžití ve městě, dále jsou také spokojeni s nabídkou sportů a sportovišť ve městě. Obyvatelé dále poukázali na některé nedostatky ve sportovním vyžití města Karviné. Na základě zjištěných informací byly doporučeny návrhy, které by mohly být využity ke zlepšení stavu sportovního vyžití města Karviné.The aim of this bachelor´s thesis is to analyse the level of leisure sports activities of the population of Karviná, to find out whether they are satisfied with the offer of the sports fields and sports in the city, which sports the inhabitants do most often and whether they are satisfied with the overall situation of sport in the city. The thesis consists of two parts. The first part focuses on the theoretical term specification of related issues which are subsequently applied in the practical part. In the second part of the thesis the environment in which the survey was performed is described as well as the enumeration of regions of leisure sports activities in the town. To reach the aim of the thesis the methods of an interview, a quantitative questionnaire survey and a SWOT analysis were applied. From the results of the research conducted it was found out that the inhabitants of the city of Karviná are predominantly satisfied with the level of leisure sports activities, they are also satisfied with the offer of the sports fields and sports in the town. Despite their satisfaction, they have reported some drawbacks in the leisure sports activities in the town. Based on such results some suggestions, which might help to improve the current status of leisure sports activities of the population of Karviná, have been made.115 - Katedra managementuvýborn

Zpracovává seznam změn ve výukové osnově a obsahuje doporučené změny, které by měly být provedeny ve stávajících výukových materiálech.This bachelor thesis provides an overview of legislative changes and new requirements for the theoretical preparation of airline pilots according to JAR-FCL 1 regulation in human performance and limitations. It processes a list of changes in educational curriculum and includes recommended changes that should be made to the existing teaching materials.

Geographical aspects of the development of the security situation in the Middle East since 2001

Diplomová práce zkoumá vývoj bezpečnosti na území Blízkého východu od roku 2001. V úvodu práce se řeší vymezení Blízkého východu. Poté se práce zaměřuje na důležité historické události po druhé světové válce, které se v oblasti Blízkého východu odehrály. Dále je v práci řešena válka proti terorismu a její důsledky. Z období po roce 2001 je zkoumána americká intervence do Afghánistánu a Iráku. Konkrétně, jaké byly důvody, průběh intervence a důsledky tohoto vpádu. Práce sleduje vývoj počtu obětí důsledkem ozbrojených konfliktů a válek. Detailněji se věnuje teroristickým útokům, konkrétně jejich počtu, obětím. Tyto informace jsou zpracovány v mapových výstupech. V závěru práce jsou zodpovězeny všechny stanovené výzkumné otázky, které se týkaly dané problematiky.ObhájenoThe master's thesis examines the development of security in the territory of the Middle East since 2001. In the introduction of the thesis, the delimitation of the Middle East is addressed. Then the thesis focuses on important historical events after the Second World War that took place in the region of the Middle East. In addition, the thesis deals with the war against terrorism and its consequences. From the period after 2001, the US intervention in Afghanistan and Iraq is examined. Specifically, what were the reasons, intervention process and the consequences of this invasion. The thesis follows the development of the number of victims due to armed conflicts and wars. It deals in more detail with terrorist attacks, specifically their number, victims. This information is processed in map outputs. At the end of the thesis, all research questions related to the given issue are answered

Legal and Economic Aspects of Unauthorized Business

Import 05/08/2014Cílem této práce bylo vymezit neoprávněné podnikání s konkrétním zaměřením na živnostenské neoprávněné podnikání, nastínit možné následky pro podnikatele z pohledu práva v rámci právní úpravy České republiky, z pohledu ekonomického vymezit příčiny a důsledky a následně navrhnout optimální řešení dané problematiky. Metodou klasifikační jsme rozdělili problematiku neoprávněného podnikání na jednotlivé podsystémy a blíže je charakterizovali z ekonomického i právního hlediska. Z ekonomického hlediska jsme rozčlenili problematiku neoprávněného podnikání dle ekonomických důsledků na makroekonomii a mikroekonomii a odhalili kladné a záporné stránky takovéhoto jednání. V případě makroekonomie jsme poukázali na důsledky zkresleného HDP ve spojitosti se stínovou ekonomikou; daní a s tím spojenou problematiku černého pasažéra. V případě mikroekonomie jsme poukázali na důsledky ovlivnění výše ceny a trhu práce ve spojitosti s prací na černo. Dále jsme metodou individuálního nestrukturalizovaného interview s vedoucím odboru živnostenského úřadu v Opavě, ing. Vratislavem Havelkou zjistili, že příčiny neoprávněného podnikání jsou především platby povinných odvodů, nevědomost, komplikovanost, postoj veřejnosti nebo zvláštní podmínky na vzdělání a státní regulace. V následující části jsme metodou srovnávání blíže porovnali ekonomické následky výběru způsobu podnikání na výši povinných odvodů s možností využít méně známé ale pro živnostníky štědré paušální výdaje. Dále bylo poukázáno na možnost využití oprávněného podnikání s praktikou prodeje tzv. „bez dokladu“. Na závěr jsme opět metodou klasifikační rozdělili problematiku z hlediska právnického a jednotlivé podsystémy a metodou jazykovou odhalili možné důsledky neoprávněného podnikání dle živnostenského a trestního zákoníku na čemž jsme poukázali na případné nedostatky. Výsledkem řešení dané problematiky jsou pozitivní jednoduché aplikovatelné návrhy, složitější dlouhodobé cíle státu a společnosti v poslední řadě i negativní realizovatelné návrhy.The aim of this study was to determine unauthorized business with a particular focus on business unauthorized trading, outline the possible consequences for businesses in terms of rights under the legislation of the Czech Republic , from the economic point of view to define the causes and consequences, and then propose an optimal solution of the problem. The method of classification, we divided the issue of unauthorized business at the various subsystems and is closer to characterize the economic and legal aspects. From an economic standpoint, we divided an issue of unauthorized business by the economic consequences of macroeconomics and microeconomics and revealed the pros and cons e aspects of such negotiations. In the case of macroeconomics, we pointed out the consequences of distorted GDP in relation to the shadow economy; taxes and the related issue of „free riders”. In the case of microeconomics are the implications affecting the price and the labor market in the context undeclared work. Furthermore, we by an unstructured individual interview with the Chief trade office in Opava, Mr. Havelka Vratislav found that the causes of unauthorized business are mainly payments of compulsory levies, ignorance, complexity, the public's attitude or special conditions for education and state regulation. In the following section, we further compared by comparing the economic consequences of choosing the way business is the amount of mandatory contributions to the potential use of lesser-known but for business owners generous flat rate. It was also pointed out the possibility of using a legitimate business with sales practice called "no evidence“. Finally, we again divided by classification issue from a legal aspects and different sub-systems and methods of language revealed the possible consequences of unauthorized business under the Trade and Criminal Code whereon we pointed out the problem.
