A simple model is proposed to explain the nature of the screening properties of superconducting composites. The percolation effect in the susceptibility and the maximum in shielding efficiency are interpreted as a consequence of the encapsulation of nonsuperconducting areas by the superconducting material. Comportamiento Organizacional y Estrés Laboral en la Empresa Nova Vida S.A.C., 2016

La presente investigación tuvo como problema general: ¿qué relación existe entre comportamiento organizacional y estrés laboral en la empresa Nova Vida S.A.C., 2016?, y como objetivo general determinar la relación entre comportamiento organizacional y estrés laboral en la empresa Nova Vida S.A.C., 2016. La investigación es de tipo básica, de naturaleza descriptivo – correlacional, el diseño fue no experimental y de corte transversal. La muestra es no probabilística con una población de 52 trabajadores de la empresa Nova Vida S.A.C., a los cuales se les aplicó el cuestionario de comportamiento organizacional de Quesada (2014) y el cuestionario sobre estrés laboral de la OIT-OMS. Se utilizó el coeficiente estadístico de correlación de Spearman, donde los resultados de la investigación demostraron que existe relación entre el comportamiento organizacional y estrés laboral en los trabajadores de la empresa Nova Vida SAC, 2016. Por lo que el sentido o dirección de la relación es negativa o inversa, con el cual se rechaza la hipótesis nula y se acepta la hipótesis alterna, debido a que se obtuvo el coeficiente de correlación Rho de Spearman fuerte con r= -0.864, y p=0.913 > 0.05

Fashion Promotion on Instagram with Eye Tracking: Curvy Girl Influencers Versus Fashion Brands in Spain and Portugal

The rise of Instagram, as the fastest growing social network in Spain and Portugal, and its incorporation into the communication strategies of beauty and fashion brands have posed some risks for younger followers in relation to the development of identity and self-esteem. A physical appearance acceptance movement has also begun, based on interaction with images, on which the social network is also based. The purpose of this research was to determine how attention is paid to fashion promotion and to the awareness of physical appearance acceptance by curvy influencers in comparison with communications by fashion brands on Instagram. The quantitative and qualitative methodology is based on the use of a biometric eye tracking technique applied to a sample of 120 participants from Spain and Portugal, matching the profile of the main users of Instagram: urban university women under 25 years old with an interest in fashion, and a self-perception as a curvy woman. The results point to more attention focused on the imperfections for which curvy influencers are raising awareness than on the fashion they promote when these awareness factors are more visible, as well as more attention focused on the fashion accessories worn by curvy brand models than those worn by the influencers, with specific and significant di_erences between Spanish and Portuguese audiences

Advanced synchrotron studies of ye'elimite-based cement pastes

Synchrotron characterization techniques [1] are being used to study Portland-based cements and recently also CSA and related cements. A key property of these techniques is that they do not require sample preparation, so the microstructures of the pastes can be preserved. The classical application of synchrotron tools is powder diffraction used to determine the crystalline phase content evolution with hydration including the overall amorphous fraction. Furthermore, other most advanced techniques are being applied to ye'elimite-containing pastes such as i) Total Scattering Synchrotron Powder Diffraction (TS-SXPD), and ii) Ptychographic Synchrotron X-ray Computed Tomography (PSXCT). All these applications will be reviewed here. TS-SXPD data coupled with the Pair Distribution Function (PDF) analysis methodology [2] allows having a better insight about the nanocrystalline/amorphous atomic arrangements in the gels. It has been very recently shown that nanogibbsite with very small particles, 3nm, is the main constituent of ye'elimite-gypsum hydration paste [2]. Nanogibbsite particles being smaller than those originated from the hydration of monocalcium aluminate. In addition, PSXCT is a tomographic technique that profits from the partly coherent nature of the synchrotron beam to provide better (smaller) resolution, which can be lower than 100 nm. It also provides the mass densities if the chemical stoichiometries are known. This technique has been applied to ye'elimite hydration to determine the microstructure and chiefly the bulk densities of nanogibbsite [3]. The microstructure evolution at early age was also followed [4]. Figure 1 shows an example of a slide of the electron density tomogram for a ye'elimite paste at 8 days of hydration and the corresponding histogram for the full volume with all phases identified.Universidad de Málaga. Child and household deprivation: A Relationship beyond Household Socio-Demographic Characteristics

As recession and financial crisis spread across Europe an increasing number of people are at risk of poverty and social exclusion. Children are more exposed to the risk of poverty and social exclusion than the overall population of the EU. The current climate of economic downturn calls out for an urgent need to break the vicious circle of intergenerational transmission of poverty and social exclusion in order to improve the well-being of children in a systematic and integrated way. Using the EU-SILC 2009 module on deprivation, this paper aims to contribute to the literature on poverty and social exclusion by analysing the determinants of material deprivation among children. Special attention is given to the type of household children belong to, a characteristic that is strongly determined by adults’ behaviour. We find that the level of child deprivation varies among household types. Moreover, we confirm that even after controlling for the socio-economic characteristics of the household and parents, there still exist households with a lack of certain items that are strongly correlated to children with intense deprivation. Therefore, we can conclude that there exists an association between child deprivation and the household-deprivation profile that surpasses the socio-demographic characteristics of the household and parent
