Rehabilitation through fixed prosthesis on teeth is widely used in aesthetic and functional rehabilitation. However, one of the complications inherent to this type of restoration is the gingival recession, exposing the transition line between the prosthetic margin and the natural tooth. Traditionally a finishing line is executed where the prosthesis (infra or supragingival) rests. The morphology of this abutment plays an important role in the stability of the gingival margin, therefor the BOPT presents a new enhancement by developing a prosthetic profile in a finishing zone without defined margin of the preparation.. BOPT is a restoration protocol that aims to imitate the natural teeth, so that the dental anatomy is transferred to the final prosthetic restoration. In this way, a free interaction with the gum can occur so that it fits, forms and rests around new shapes and profiles. Compared with conventional techniques, BOPT has been shown to promote tissue stability in the medium and long term, adapting itself and naturally to the preparation and restoration

The Brazilian journalism presents several syndromes that influence the quality of environmental coverage as the sensationalism; the almost exclusive use of authorities as sources; or the fragmentation of theapproach because of its segmentation in different sections. The analysis of the journalistic coverage in the cities of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo demonstrates that the environmental news occupies a good space in the main newspapers, with important variations in terms of subjects and perspective

Rivulus romeri sp.nov. is described from a small stream tributary of Igarapé Iauiari, upper Negro river drainage, Amazonian basin, northern Brazil. It seems to be closely related to R. atratus Garman, 1895 and R. ornatus Garman, 1895 by all sharing apomorphic frontal squamation and head color pattern. It is diagnosed by the long and pointed anal fin of male, also present in R. gransabanae Lasso, Taphorn Thomerson, 1992, and constitutes the smallest species of the genus. The long and narrow basihyal of R. romeri sp.nov. seems to be unique among congeners.Rivulus romeri sp.nov., coletada num pequeno riacho tributário do Igarapé Iauiari, drenagem do alto rio Negro, é descrita.

The mental health policy of Brazil has been guided by the search for citizenship, social equality and autonomy of the individuals with mental disorders and it started with the deinstitutionalization process. On the other hand, this paradigm shift contributed to making the patients stay in the family environment and thus the need for family members to play the role of caregivers. The attributions of these care functions have contributed to a physical and emotional overload. Using a psychoeducational approach focused on the family member/caregiver of people with schizophrenia, this study proposed to check the caregivers' perception about the importance of the practice of relaxation activities for the promotion of selfcare. The intervention was performed during a six-month period. Participants were 31 family caregivers of mental health cohabitation centers in the city of Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Using the relatives’ reports about the perception of the intervention, categories were listed and treated with the support of the software webQDA. The results revealed through the family members' perception, that the intervention program provided them with contributions such as wellbeing, self-control over impulses, increased self-esteem, and encouragement for self-care. The literature reinforces that the educational practice in health is composed of educational activities aimed at the development of individual and collective capacities aimed at improving the health and quality of life of people. The intervention program with relaxation exercises contributed to an improved physical and mental health for family caregivers, awakening them to self-careinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

The treatment of the wastewater can be processedby either physical-chemical and or biological methods.Biological methods in turn can be divided into aerobic andanaerobic. The utilization anything process usually have forobjective to remove the organ matter and, the performance isvariable depending on the device utilized. The purpose of thepresent work is to evaluate the treatment wastewater system withprimary, secondary and auxiliary treatments. The primarytreatment consists of a dispositive that blockade bulky materialsand the sand excluder for removing the inert materials. Thesecondary, responsible for the organic charge elimination isrealized by up flow of an anaerobic sludge mantle filter. Theauxiliary treatment is a polishing pond. The evaluation was madethrough the determination of pH, Consumed Oxygen (CO/COD),Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), COD/BOD relation, alkalinity, volatile fatty acids (VFA), total nitrogen, ammonium, nitrate, total phosphorus, turbidity and settable solids determination. The results showed that the biological process used is appropriate given that the ratio COD / BOD is less than 2.5, the system was capable of removing organic matter in terms of OC and BOD at the rates of 43.1 % and 44.8 % respectively when the concentration of total phosphorus in polishing pond is high, which can cause eutrophication.</div

Renormalization group flow for SU(2) Yang-Mills theory and gauge invariance

We study the formulation of the Wilson renormalization group (RG) method for a non-Abelian gauge theory. We analyze the simple case of SU(2)SU(2) and show that the local gauge symmetry can be implemented by suitable boundary conditions for the RG flow. Namely we require that the relevant couplings present in the physical effective action, \ie the coefficients of the field monomials with dimension not larger than four, are fixed to satisfy the Slavnov-Taylor identities. The full action obtained from the RG equation should then satisfy the same identities. This procedure is similar to the one we used in QED. In this way we avoid the cospicuous fine tuning problem which arises if one gives instead the couplings of the bare Lagrangian. To show the practical character of this formulation we deduce the perturbative expansion for the vertex functions in terms of the physical coupling gg at the subtraction point μ\mu and perform one loop calculations. In particular we analyze to this order some ST identities and compute the nine bare couplings. We give a schematic proof of perturbative renormalizability.Comment: 25 pages + 4 figures appended as PostScript file, LaTeX style, UPRF 93-388, explanations adde

Optical Triangulation-Based Microtopographic Inspection of Surfaces

    Get PDF
The non-invasive inspection of surfaces is a major issue in a wide variety of industries and research laboratories. The vast and increasing range of surface types, tolerance requirements and measurement constraints demanded during the last decades represents a major research effort in the development of new methods, systems and metrological strategies. The discreet dimensional evaluation the rugometric characterization and the profilometric inspection seem to be insufficient in many instances. The full microtopographic inspection has became a common requirement. Among the different systems developed, optical methods have the most important role and among those triangulation-based ones have gained a major status thanks to their flexibility, reliability and robustness. In this communication we will provide a brief historical review on the development of optical triangulation application to the dimensional inspection of objects and surfaces and on the work done at the Microtopography Laboratory of the Physics Department of the University of Minho, Portugal, in the development of methods and systems of optical triangulation-based microtopographic inspection of surfaces

The magnetosphere of the ultracool dwarf DENIS 1048-3956

Ultracool dwarfs, the least-massive contributors to the stellar mass function, exhibit striking magnetic properties that are inconsistent with trends for more massive stars. Here, we present the widest-band radio observations to date of an ultracool dwarf, DENIS-P J104814.9-395604, in four 2 GHz bandwidths between wavelengths of 1 cm and 10 cm. These data were obtained with the Australia Telescope Compact Array using the new Compact Array Broadband Backend instrument. We detected a stable negatively-sloped power-law spectrum in total intensity, with spectral index alpha=1.71+-0.09. Circular polarization fractions between 0.25 and 0.4 were found at the low-frequency end of our detection band. We interpret these results as indicative of gyrosynchrotron emission. We suggest that the radio emission originates from beyond the co-rotation radius, R_C, of the star. Adopting this model, we find R_C between 1.2-2.9 R_*, and a non-thermal electron density and magnetic field strength between 10^(5)-10^(7.2) cm^(-3) and 70-260 G respectively at R_C. The model accounts for the violation of the Guedel-Benz relation between X-ray and radio luminosities of low-mass stars by DENIS-P J104814.9-395604.Comment: Accepted for publication in ApJL -- 5 pages, 2 figure

The reproductive behavior of Cynolebias albipunctatus is described based on aquarium observations. The sequence of five distinct stages of reproductive behaviors defined for other rivulids was observed: 1) courtship displays; 2) invitation to dive; 3) submerging; 4) spawning/fertilization; 5) emerging. Some patterns are shared with several species of cynolebiatine annual fishes, such as courtship displays with lateral waving movements of male body and unpaired fins of male expanded during waving movements. Some unique behavioral patterns were also identified, such as distinctive movements of male head, producing a crack-like sound to attract the female, determination of a dominant female with exclusion of other female by the couple, dominant exhibiting of female that scrubs its snout in the urogenital region of male and exhibits brief courtship-like movements.O comportamento reprodutivo de Cynolebias albipunctatus é descrito baseado em observações em aquário.
