El Itinerario de Antonino y la provincia "Baetica"

Hemos establecido una relación entre la estructura viaria del itinerario y la organización provincial de la Bética, teniendo en cuenta varias cosas: el orden en que aparecen las vías y su relación con la estructura provincial; ciudades que son cabecera y destino, su papel en la red viaria, su condición jurídica y su vinculación con momentos de cambios administrativos; representatividad de las capitales provincial y conventuales en la enumeración de las vías, en la organización de las mismas y en la formación de redes radiales de comunicación; cobertura provincial y conventual de la red viaria.We have established one relationship between the road structure of the itinerary and provincial organisation of the Bética, taking into account several things: the order in which roads appear and its relationship with provincial structure; cities that are heading and destiny, its role in the road network, its juridic condition and its vinculations with moments of administrative changes; representativeness of the provincial and conventual capitals in the enumeration of the ways, in the organization of the same ones and in the formation of radial networks of communication; provincial and conventual coverage of the road network

Los árboles silvestres en la Iberia de Estrabón

[ES] Los autores grecorromanos nos han transmitido bastante información sobre lo que podríamos considerar una naturaleza dominada (agricultura, ganadería, pesca...), pero pocas veces se han interesado por el paisaje agreste salvo en los casos en que el hombre obtenía un beneficio de él. Aquí intentamos destacar algunos pasajes de Estrabón en los que los árboles silvestres (o no estrictamente cultivados) son los protagonistas. Para una mejor estructuración, hemos clasificado las alusiones estrabonianas en tres grupos: informaciones aisladas, paisajes sugeridos y paisajes definidos.[EN] The ancient Greek and Roman writers have given us a considerable amount of information about what we could define as nature dominated by human beings (agriculture, cattle raising, fishing...), yet they wrote very little about the wild landscapes except in the cases where man obtained something from it. Here we attempt to highlight some passages from Strabo in which wild (or at least not strictly cultivated) trees are the protagonists. In order to structure the article, we have classified Strabo’s allusions into three groups: isolated informations, suggested landscapes and defined landscapes

Referencias al bosque en las campañas militares de la Hispania romana

In this article we have collected references to forest in the military campaigns of the Roman Spain, dividing them in four different sections: Second Punic War; from the Second Punic War until the destruction of Numantia; Sertorio-Metelo-Pompeyo and Julio César-Augusto. On the one hand we have analysed the different Greek and Latín terms that are used, and on the other the different woodland references within the context of the era and place in which they appear. Finally, we have established a relationship between these sources and others which allude to forests from a different perspective.Hemos recogido referencias a bosques en las campañas militares de la Hispania romana, estableciendo cuatro apartados distintos: Segunda Guerra Púnica; entre la II Guerra Púnica y la destrucción de Numancia; Sertorio-Metelo-Pompeyo y Julio César-Augusto. Se analizan, por una parte, los diferentes vocablos griegos y latinos que se emplean y, por otra, las distintas referencias al bosque encuadrándolas en la época, lugares y contextos en que aparecen. Finalmente, se establece una relación entre estas fuentes militares y otras que aluden a los bosques bajo una óptica distinta

Reflexiones sobre las ciudades de la Bética recogidas en la Geografía de Estrabón

Se analizan las distintas ciudades citadas por Estrabón en el sur peninsular, especialmente aquéllas que de forma clara reciben apelativos como metrópolis, polis, apoikia, ... que les confieren unas características distintivas respecto a las demás. Se intenta saber, aplicando el conocimiento que tenemos de las ideas geográficas de Estrabón a través de los prolegómenos de su obra, si estos planteamientos básicos han sido aplicados en esta región al tratar el tema del urbanismo y si dicha aplicación ha sido coherente con la declaración de intenciones del autor.Here we analise the various towns mentioned by Strabo in the south of the península, specially those which are clearly named as metrópolis, polis, apoikia,... which confers them some features that make them different from the others. We try to know, appiying the knowledge we have of Strabo's geographical ideas through the prologue of his work, if those basic approaches have been applied in this región when dealing with town planning and if this application has been coherent with the author's declaration of intentions
