    Cultura y globalización: la seguridad societal de la comunidad indigena Wayuu y la comercialización de los tejidos tradicionales

    En un mundo globalizado, tendiente a la creciente homogenización y mercantilización cultural, la presente investigación analiza el impacto que conlleva la comercialización de bienes culturales con valor simbólico sobre la seguridad societal de la comunidad indígena Wayuu, a partir de concebirla como amenaza para su identidad cultural, al incitar trasformaciones en la producción, elaboración y simbología de los tejidos tradicionales. El marco analítico utilizado, como metodología que determina tres tipos de creencias: visiones de mundo, creencias de principios y creencias de causalidad estructuran la investigación. Complementado por el análisis del discurso político, cuyas herramientas permitieron realizar el análisis crítico de los discursos delineados desde la UNESCO y el Estado colombiano, y develar los momentos que dieron vida a nuevos discursos que justifican la comercialización de bienes culturales con valor simbólico. Finalmente la aplicación del concepto de seguridad societal, permitió definir los efectos que trae consigo la comercialización de los tejidos tradicionales Wayuu como amenazas a la identidad colectiva de la etnia, por poner en peligro sus condiciones de existencia.In a globalized world, aimed at increasing homogenization and cultural commodification, the present research analyzes the impact of the commercialization of cultural goods with symbolic value on the societal security of the Wayuu indigenous community, starting from conceiving it as a threat to their identity Cultural, by inciting transformations in the production, elaboration and symbology of the traditional fabrics. The analytical framework used, ideas and foreign policy as a methodology that determines three types of beliefs: world views, beliefs of principles and beliefs of causality structure research. Complemented by the analysis of the political discourse, whose tools allowed the critical analysis of the discourses delineated from UNESCO and the Colombian State, and unveiling the moments that gave life to new discourses that justify the commercialization of cultural goods with symbolic value. Finally, the application of the concept of societal security allowed us to define the effects of the commercialization of the traditional Wayuu fabrics as threats to the collective identity of the ethnic group, in order to jeopardize their conditions of existence

    Patient satisfaction in relation to nursing care at home

    With regards to home care, primary care nurses should carry out their activities and performance with an emphasis on health education. Considering patient satisfaction in the relationship aspect of helping and communication can contribute to improving nursing care. This cross-sectional, descriptive and analytical study, whose aim is to assess the degree of patient satisfaction in relation to nursing care provided at home, particularly in the dimensions of relationships, communication and health education. To conduct this research an intentional non-probabilistic sample, consisting of 44 dependent patients, belonging to the area of a health centre in the central region of Portugal, who receive nursing care at home was selected. The data collection instrument used was a form, consisting of two parts: the first part to characterise the sample with 10 questions, one of which is subdivided and the second part consisting of 16 Likert type scale questions to obtain the patients’ opinions. From our results we stress that our sample had a very aged population, mostly residing in urban areas. Satisfaction was evaluated in three dimensions: relationships, communication and health education. With regard to relationships, older males (age range 88-98 years), who are more highly dependent, married, uneducated and living in rural districts are more satisfied. Regarding communication, older males (88-98 years), with a greater degree of dependency, bachelors, educated and living in urban parishes are most satisfied. As for the health education dimension, younger men (68-78 years), who are less dependent, married, educated and living in urban environments are more satisfied. The main conclusions inferred are that, in the overall assessment of all of the dimensions, the classification is very good, and it is suggested that organizational investments are made and to equip health centres with human and material resources

    A criação de clubes de leitura com uma abordagem crítica para promover práticas de alfabetização

    This paper reports the pedagogical experience of creating a book club to foster the reading of short stories from a critical literacy perspective at a high school in Bogotá, Colombia. The Book Club arose as an after-school program where students, who were interested in the proposal, were free to join. First, the paper presents the fundamental concepts that guided the implementation. Then, it describes the central elements of the pedagogical experience: context, curricular platform, procedures, and activities. The final discussion centers on the role of a critical literacy approach that encouraged participants to go beyond concerns about the grammatical and linguistic aspects of the foreign language to focus on meaning-making. Also, to concentrate on responding and transacting with the texts while engaging in dialogic interactions that allowed them to share background knowledge, life experiences, social and individual issues of their realities and interests, and most importantly, enjoy the act of reading in a foreign language as it was seen as a social-situated practice.Este artículo informa sobre la experiencia pedagógica de creación de un club de lectura para promover la lectura de cuentos cortos desde una perspectiva crítica de la literacidad en un colegio de secundaria en Bogotá, Colombia. El Club de lectura surgió como una actividad extracurricular en la cual, las estudiantes que estuvieran interesadas podían participar libremente. El documento presenta, en primer lugar, los conceptos fundamentales que guiaron la implementación. Luego, describe los elementos centrales de la experiencia pedagógica: contexto, plataforma curricular, procedimientos y actividades. La discusión final se centra en el papel del enfoque de alfabetización crítica que alentó a los participantes a ir más allá de las preocupaciones relacionadas con aspectos lingüísticos o gramaticales de la lengua extranjera para enfocarse en construir significado. Además, para concentrarse en responder y negociar con los textos involucrándose en interacciones dialógicas que les permitieron compartir conocimiento previo, experiencias de vida, problemáticas sociales e individuales de sus realidades o intereses y, lo más importante, disfrutar del acto de leer en una lengua extranjera ya que este fue considerado como una práctica social situada.Este artigo relata a experiência pedagógica da criação de um Clube de Leitura para promover a leitura de contos de uma perspectiva crítica da alfabetização em uma escola secundária em Bogotá, Colômbia. O Clube de Leitura foi criado como uma atividade extracurricular na qual os alunos interessados poderiam participar livremente. A perspectiva crítica motivou os participantes a ir além de suas preocupações relacionadas a aspectos lingüísticos ou gramaticais da língua estrangeira para se concentrar na construção de significado, responder e negociar com os textos para engajar-se em interações dialógicas que lhes permitiu compartilhar conhecimento prévio, experiências de vida , problemas sociais e individuais de suas realidades ou interesses e, mais importante, desfrutar do ato de ler em uma língua estrangeira, uma vez que esta era considerada uma prática social localizada

According to the above, it was proposed the development of workshops designed to strengthen inferential reading. For this reason, we used the strategies presented by inferential reading, as a tool that provides elements that lead to understanding each of the themes of the workshops, which lead to perceive the concept of the same. This research focused the interest in the development of critical thinking from the strategies offered by inferential reading following the proposals of authors Isabel Sol? and Daniel Cassany; Taking as a psychological reference to Robert Ennis and Richard Paul; And thus be able to design and apply didactic sequences from the tools of inferential reading as a pedagogical strategy. This intervention project is carried out in four phases: sensitization phase, there the problem was detected and a proposal to apply with the students is shown; Phase of intervention, the workshops were implemented; Phase of evaluation, where it was possible to demonstrate what the scope and solution to the problem were and to finish the socialization phase.     Dating violence, adaptability and family cohesion in higher education students

    Enquadramento: A violência no namoro é um problema grave, pela prevalência e consequências ao nível da saúde física e mental. Objetivos: Analisar que variáveis sociodemográficas e académicas interferem nos comportamentos de violência no namoro dos estudantes do ensino superior e determinar o modo como a adaptabilidade e coesão familiar interferem nas práticas e comportamentos de violência no namoro. Participantes: A amostra é constituída por 820 estudantes do ensino superior (idade média 20.48 anos, Dp=2.51). Método: É um estudo quantitativo, descrito-correlacional e transversal. O protocolo de investigação é um questionário. Permitiu caracterizar a amostra socio demograficamente, ao nível das Práticas e Comportamentos de Violência no Namoro com a Escala de Dixe, Rodrigues, Freire et al., 2010 e a Adaptabilidade e Coesão Familiar com a Escala de Tribuna, 2000. Resultados: É uma amostra maioritariamente feminina (69.4%), predominam os estudantes solteiros (57.2%), 46.2% frequentam um curso na área da tecnologia e 52.5% frequenta um curso na área da saúde. O sexo, o estado civil e o curso interferem nos comportamentos de violência no namoro. São os estudantes do sexo masculino, do curso na área da tecnologia e a frequentar o 1º ano que manifestam mais comportamentos de violência no namoro, sobretudo a violência stalking e a violência psicológica. A adaptabilidade e a coesão familiar não se mostraram significativas na violência física e sexual, stalking e violência psicológica. Conclusão: Face aos resultados propomos a implementação de programas (debates e fóruns) contra a violência no namoro, nas escolas, focalizados na prevenção primária.ABSTRACT Dating violence, adaptability and family cohesion in higher education students Background: Dating violence is a serious problem, whether because of its prevalence and consequences on physical and mental health. Objectives: To identify the sociodemographic and academic variables that affects the behavior of dating violence for students in higher education and determines how the adaptability and family cohesion interfere in the behavior of violence. Participants: The sample consisted of 820 university students (mean age 20,48 years, Sd= 2.51). Method: It is a quantitative, described correlational and cross study. The research protocol is a questionnaire. Allowed to characterize socio demographically and academics sample, in terms of practices and behaviors violence in dating with Dixe, Rodrigues, Freire et al. ( 2010), Scale and Adaptability and Family Cohesion with Tribuna, (2000) Scale. Results: This is a mainly female sample (69.4%), predominance of single students (57.2%), 46.2% attends a course in technology and 52.5% attend a course in health care. Gender, marital status, and course interfere in the conduct of dating violence. Are the male students, the course in the field of technology and to attend the 1st year who exhibit more violent behavior dating, especially stalking violence and psychological violence. The adaptability and family cohesion were not significant in physical and sexual violence, stalking and psychological violence.     Sleep quality determinants among nursing students

    Higher education has influenced students’ concepts of sleeping time leading to a deficit of sleep quality. Sleep disorders constitute one of the most pertinent health problems in western society. Identify the factors that influence the sleep quality in nursing students; Identify which social demographic and academic variants interfere with sleep quality; Analyze the influence of variables of psychological context and investigate the relationship between the daytime somnolence with the sleep quality in nursing students. Analytic, descriptive and correlational study in a non-probabilistic convenience sample of 403 nursing students. We applied a Sociodemographic and Academic characterization survey, Epworth Sleepiness Scale, Positive and Negative Affect Scale, Eysenck Personality Inventory, Anxiety scale, Stress and depression and Pittsburgh h Sleep Quality Index. The students’ average age is 23.61 years. Women (86.0%) attending the fourth year (27.4%) reveal less sleep quality (63.2%) and more daytime somnolence (24.3%). First year students aged 20 years residing alone in rural areas present higher levels of anxiety, are less extroverted and more neurotic, reveal less sleep quality. Sleep disorders constitute a public health problem that requires intervention and adopting educational measures and promoting health awareness raising in educational institutions in order to improve student action in building up of their own sleep quality

    TRAJETÓRIAS DO IDEÁRIO PARTICIPATIVO NO BRASIL

    Este artigo tem por objetivo apresentar as mudanças na trajetória dos ideários participativos. Baseado em pesquisa documental e revisão bibliográfica, o texto aponta como, no Brasil, algumas visões sobre a democracia participativa ganharam e outras perderam força. Se nos anos 1970 havia uma forte presença de concepções que afirmavam a importância de utilizar o espaço participativo como forma de organização da sociedade (nos sindicatos, nos movimentos populares e no próprio partido) e de educação para cidadania, o que denominamos aqui como “participação como emancipação”, ao longo do tempo esta visão perdeu força. E passaram a entrar nos argumentos políticos visões da participação como forma de apoiar os governos, de um lado, e de fiscalizar o Estado, de outro, que denominamos aqui como “participação como deliberação”. Já durante o governo petista foi se consolidando uma visão de participação “como escuta”. TRAJECTORY OF PARTICIPATORY IDEALS IN BRAZILThis article aims to present the changes in the trajectory of participatory ideals. Based on documentary research and bibliographical review, the text points out how, in Brazil, some views on participatory democracy “won” and others “lost force”. If in the 1970s there was a strong presence of conceptions that affirmed the importance of using participatory space as a form of organization of society (in unions, popular movements and in the party itself) and education for citizenship, what we call here as “participation as emancipation”, over time this vision has lost strength. Political views began to enter into the views of participation as a way to support governments on the one hand and to oversee the state, on the other, which we refer to here as “participation as deliberation”. Basé sur des recherches documentaires et sur une revue de la littérature, le texte montre comment, au Brésil, certains points de vue sur la démocratie participative ont gagné et d’autres ont perdu de leur force dans le temps. Si, dans les années 1970, il existait une forte présence de conceptions de la « participation comme émancipation », affirmant l’importance d’utiliser l’espace participatif comme forme d’organisation de la société (dans les syndicats, les mouvements populaires et le parti) et l’éducation à la citoyenneté, cette vision a perdu de sa vigueur avec le temps. Des visions politiques de la participation ont émergé dans le discours comme moyen de soutenir les gouvernements, d’une part, et de surveiller l’État, d’autre part, ce que nous appelons ici “participation en tant que délibération”.     Propagação vegetativa de Erythrina crista-galli L. : enraizamento e suas relações morfológicas

Defesa: Curitiba, 2004Inclui referências: p. 50-58Resumo: Erythrina crista-galli L. pertencente à família Fabaceae é popularmente conhecida por corticeira, corticeira-do-banhado, crista-de-galo, flor-de-coral e mulungu, sendo considerada ornamental, fornecedora de alcaloides, tanino e madeira dentre outros subprodutos. Este trabalho teve por objetivo estudar a propagação vegetativa via estaquia e morfologia de cinco tipos de estacas caulinares de Erythrina crista-galli. Foram utilizadas estacas de brotação do ano, de rebrota de copa, de brotação dos "cornos", apicais e laterais de plântulas provenientes de sementes. As estacas foram preparadas com corte em bisel na base sendo imersas numa solução de hipoclorito de sódio (0,5%), por 15 minutos e lavadas em água corrente. Em seguida foi aplicado (Benlate®) Benomyl a 0,5 gL-1 por 15 minutos na base das estacas. As estacas foram submetidas a imersão em 0, 1500, 3000 e 6000 mgL-1 IBA por 10 segundos, plantadas em tubetes com vermiculita e acondicionadas em casa-de-vegetação com sistema de nebulização intermitente. As avaliações foram realizadas após 60 dias da instalação dos experimentos, sendo observadas as seguintes variáveis: porcentagem de estacas enraizadas; número de raízes por estaca; comprimento das 3 maiores raízes por estaca; porcentagem de estacas com calos; porcentagem de estacas vivas e porcentagem de estacas mortas. Foram feitas análises morfológicas da porção basal das estacas através de técnicas de fixação, desidratação em série etílica, emblocamento, coloração e montagem de lâminas permanentes. Foram realizados testes histoquímicos para amido e compostos fenólicos. As estacas de brotação do ano, de rebrota de copa e de "cornos" foram as que apresentaram as mais baixas porcentagens de enraizamento; estacas apicais e laterais apresentaram os melhores resultados de enraizamento com 95 e 83,3% para 3000 mg.L-1 IBA respectivamente. Estacas de brotação do ano, de rebrota de copa e de "cornos" apresentaram grande quantidade de fibras e compostos fenólicos em relação às estacas apicais e laterais. Estas, entretanto, apresentaram grande quantidade de amido. Desta forma foi possível concluir que o tipo de estaca a ser utilizada é fator determinante para o sucesso do enraizamento desta espécie.Abstract: Erythrina crista-galli L. relating Fabaceae family is usually known for corticeira, corticeira-do-banhado, crista-de-galo, flor-de-coral and mulungu. This plant is ornamental, provide alkaloids, tannin and wood among others sub-products. The object this work was study the vegetative propagation for cutting and morphological studies of five types stem cuttings of E. crista-galli. Year shoots cuttings, top sprout cutting, "horn" cuttings, apical cuttings and lateral cuttings were employed. Then stem cuttings were prepared with bissell cut in the base stem being their bases immersed in sadie hypoclorit solution (0,5%) for 15 minutes and washed in water-spout. Subsequent, it was applied 0,5 gL-1 (Benlate ®) Benomyl for 15 minutes in stem cuttings base. Five types cuttings were immersed in 0, 1500, 3000 and 6000 mgL-1 IBA solution for 10 seconds. Subsequent, cuttings were planted in plastic containers using vermiculite as growing media and kept in greenhouse with intermittent mist. After 60 days the following variables were observed: rooted stem cutting percentage; number of roots per stem cutting; length of the three bigger roots per stem cutting; callus stem cutting percentage; alive stem cutting and dead stem cutting percentage. Morphological studies were made in basal portion stem cuttings through fixation technics, dehydration in ethylic series, putting blocks, staining and mounting permanent slides. Histochemical traits were made to test starch and phenolic compounds. Year shoots cuttings, top sprout cutting, "horn" cuttings had lesser roots percentage; Apical and lateral cuttings had better rooted results with 95 and 83,3% for 3000 mgL'1 IBA respective. Year shoots cuttings, top sprout cutting and "horn" cuttings had higher amount strands and phenolic compounds by comparison apical and lateral cuttings. However this cuttings had higher amount starch. So was possible conclude that tipy cutting employed is determinant factor to roots percentage success
