The interaction between three widely used antimalarial drugs chloroquine, primaquine and amodiaquine with acrylamide dimer and trimer as a hydrogel model, were studied by means of density functional theory calculation in both vacuum and water environments, using the functional wb97xd with 6-31++G(d,p) basis set and polarizable continuum model (C-PCM) of solvent. According to binding energy, around −3.15 to −11.91 kJ/mol, the interaction between antimalarial compounds and hydrogel model are exothermic in nature. The extent of interaction found is primaquine > amodiaquine > chloroquine. The natural bond orbital (NBO) calculation and application of second-order perturbation theory show strong charge transfer between the antimalarial and hydrogel model. In addition, the results suggest these interactions are polar in nature, where hydrogen bonds play a principal role in stabilization of the complex. Comparing with the gas-phase, the complexes in the water environment are also stable, with suitable values of Log P (Partition coefficient), and dipolar momentum. Consequently, these results encourage to test acrylamide hydrogels as antimalarial delivery systems

This article presents a reflection on the state of the art of university graduate programs in the disciplines of Food Safety and Biotechnological Food Processes (IPBA) and related academic training areas until 2021. It is part of the process of creation, design and development of a new program at the technological specialization level developed by the National Open and Distance University (UNAD) of Colombia. The search for systematic information was carried out through educational databases, listings that group graduate programs, search engines for graduate programs at the specialization level, technological specialization, master's degree, articles and documents from organizations working in IPBA. The objective of reviewing the state of the art of postgraduate programs in IPBA is to know what topics are being taught in universities at the national and global level in relation to the needs of food companies and industries and if there is a congruence between what is being taught academically at the national and global level and the requirements of the organizations. Therefore, postgraduate programs at national and international level were related, analyzing a low number of postgraduate programs with these characteristics and a great need for the creation of new postgraduate training programs in the area of food safety and biotechnological food processes.

The summit dome was destroyed and a new crater excavated and breached to the south. This new breach connects to a narrow channel that descends along Colima's southern flank and was used by a subsequent lava flow. The Montegrande PDCs represent the longest and hottest flow of this type recorded during the past 30 years but are still smaller in comparison to the 15-km long PDCs produced during the 1913 Plinian eruption. Data obtained from field reconnaissance, lahar monitoring stations, and satellite imagery suggest that at least six PDCs occurred. The two largest PDCs (H/L 0.2) were able to surmount topographic barriers or bends. Based on field reconnaissance and digital elevation models extracted from SPOT satellite imageries we estimate a minimum volume for the valley-pond and distal fan deposits of 4.5 × 106 m3. After one week, the deposits were still hot with burning trees on the surface and millimeter-sized holes from which fumes were emanating. The juvenile components of the deposits consist of gray dense blocks and vesicular dark-gray blocks and bombs with bread-crust textures and cooling joints. The mineral association of these rocks consists of plagioclase + clinopyroxene + orthopyroxene + FeTi-oxides ± olivine and resorbed hornblende in a dark glassy matrix that corresponds to an andesitic composition.CONACY

The present work allows us to address the main events that occur in scenarios of violence and their psychosocial accompaniment. In the first phase there is an exploration of the stories taken from the book Voices: stories of violence and hope in Colombia; From this exercise we wanted to address issues not only of violence, but the footprint that this leaves on people, as well as the strategies to approach people, recognizing them not only as victims but also to transform them into survivors. a transformation of its history or narrative. In the second phase, the case of the community of Pandurí is analyzed, which were accused of providing aid in an armed front, some of its inhabitants were tortured and suffered a forced displacement, considering the previous thing is the typification of the psychosocial effects where there are strategies to improve, improve and make an adequate accompaniment. On the other hand, you consider the relevance in the psycho-social aspect, since it presents different relevance against the constant transit of pain we live daily, thus achieving an empowerment for structuring new forms of living efficiently and effectively. Therefore, the role of the professional in psychology Unadista requires generating important actions that allow strengthening the comprehensive development of the different victims of armed conflict and one of these paths is the restitution of you violated rights

Persistent HIV-controllers are more prone to spontaneously clear HCV: a retrospective cohort study.

HIV-controllers have the ability to spontaneously maintain viraemia at low or undetectable levels in the absence of antiretroviral treatment. Furthermore, HIV-controllers seem to have a superior capacity to spontaneously clear hepatitis C virus (HCV) compared to non HIV-controllers. Some of these subjects eventually lose HIV-controller status (transient controllers), whereas some HIV-controllers show a persistent natural HIV control (persistent controllers). We aimed to analyse whether persistent controllers have superior capacity to spontaneously clear HCV compared to transient controllers. We recruited HIV-controllers from January 1981 up to October 2016 with available antibodies to HCV (anti-HCV) data (n = 744). Factors associated with HIV spontaneous control in relation to HCV status were analysed in persistent and transient HIV-controllers with anti-HCV positive (n = 202 and n = 138 respectively) in comparison with 1700 HCV positive non HIV-controllers recruited from January 1981 up to March 2018, bivariate and multivariate analyses, following a logistic regression model, were applied. In addition, the factors related to the loss and time to lose HIV-controller status were explored (n = 744) using Log rank test and Kaplan-Meier curves, in this case the multivariate analysis consisted in a Cox regression model. A higher frequency of HCV spontaneous clearance was found in persistent HIV-controllers (25.5%) compared to non-controllers (10.2%). After adjusting for potential confounders, as sex, age, HIV transmission risk, CD4+ T-cell nadir and time of follow-up, HCV clearance was independently associated with persistent HIV spontaneous control (p = 0.002; OR (95% CI) = 2.573 (1.428 to 4.633)), but not with transient spontaneous control (p = 0.119; 1.589 (0.888 to 2.845)). Furthermore, persistent HIV-controllers were more likely to spontaneously clear the HCV in comparison with transient controllers (p = 0.027; 0.377 (0.159 to 0.893). Finally, not to lose or lengthen the time of losing this control was independently associated with HCV spontaneous clearance (p = 0.010; 0.503 (0.297 to 0.850). This study shows an association between spontaneous persistent HIV-control and HCV spontaneous clearance. The study findings support the idea of preserved immune mechanisms in persistent HIV control implicated in HCV spontaneous clearance. These results highlight persistent HIV-controllers but not transient controllers as a good model of functional HIV cure. This work was supported by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (research contracts CPII014/00025 to E.R.‐M., and FI14/00431 to L.T.‐D. and research projects PI12/02283, PI16/00684, PI19/01127 to E.R.‐M.) and Red Temática de Investigación Cooperativa en SIDA (Projects RD12/0017/0029, RD12/0017/0031, and RD16/0025/0020 and RD16/0025/0013), which is included in the Acción Estratégica en Salud, Plan Nacional de Investigación Científica, Desarrollo e Innovación Tecnológica 2008 to 2011 and 2013 to 2016, Instituto de Salud Carlos III, Fondos FEDER.
