Crafting a Systematic Literature Review on Open-Source Platforms
This working paper unveils the crafting of a systematic literature review on
open-source platforms. The high-competitive mobile devices market, where
several players such as Apple, Google, Nokia and Microsoft run a platforms- war
with constant shifts in their technological strategies, is gaining increasing
attention from scholars. It matters, then, to review previous literature on
past platforms-wars, such as the ones from the PC and game-console industries,
and assess its implications to the current mobile devices platforms-war. The
paper starts by justifying the purpose and rationale behind this literature
review on open-source platforms. The concepts of open-source software and
computer-based platforms were then discussed both individually and in unison,
in order to clarify the core-concept of 'open-source platform' that guides this
literature review. The detailed design of the employed methodological strategy
is then presented as the central part of this paper. The paper concludes with
preliminary findings organizing previous literature on open-source platforms

WHIRLY proteins maintain seed longevity by effects on seed oxygen signalling during imbibition
The WHIRLY (WHY) family of DNA/RNA binding proteins fulfil multiple but poorly characterised functions in plants. We analysed WHY protein functions in the Arabidopsis Atwhy1, Atwhy3, Atwhy1why3 single and double mutants and wild type controls. The Atwhy3 and Atwhy1why3 double mutants showed a significant delay in flowering, having more siliques per plant but with fewer seeds per silique than the wild type. While germination was similar in the unaged high-quality seeds of all lines, significant decreases in vigour and viability were observed in the aged mutant seeds compared with the wild type. Imbibition of unaged high-quality seeds was characterised by large increases in transcripts that encode proteins involved in oxygen sensing and responses to hypoxia. Seed aging resulted in a disruption of the imbibition-induced transcriptome profile such that transcripts encoding RNA metabolism and processing became the most abundant components of the imbibition signature. The imbibition-related profile of the Atwhy1why3 mutant seeds, was characterised by decreased expression of hypoxia-related and oxygen metabolism genes even in the absence of aging. Seed aging further decreased the abundance of hypoxia-related and oxygen metabolism transcripts relative to the wild type. These findings suggest that the WHY1 and WHY3 proteins regulate the imbibition-induced responses to oxygen availability and hypoxia. Loss of WHY1 and WHY3 functions decreases the ability of Arabidopsis seeds to resist the adverse effects of seed aging
B_c meson rare decays in the light-cone quark model
We investigate the rare decays
and in the framework of the
light-cone quark model (LCQM). The transition form factors are calculated in
the space-like region and then analytically continued to the time-like region
via exponential parametrization. The branching ratios and longitudinal lepton
polarization asymmetries (LPAs) for the two decays are given and compared with
each other. The results are helpful to investigating the structure of
meson and to testing the unitarity of CKM quark mixing matrix. All these

Innovations in air sampling to detect plant pathogens
Many innovations in the development and use of air sampling devices have occurred in plant pathology since the first description of the Hirst spore trap. These include improvements in capture efficiency at relatively high air-volume collection rates, methods to enhance the ease of sample processing with downstream diagnostic methods and even full automation of sampling, diagnosis and wireless reporting of results. Other innovations have been to mount air samplers on mobile platforms such as UAVs and ground vehicles to allow sampling at different altitudes and locations in a short space of time to identify potential sources and population structure. Geographical Information Systems and the application to a network of samplers can allow a greater prediction of airborne inoculum and dispersal dynamics. This field of technology is now developing quickly as novel diagnostic methods allow increasingly rapid and accurate quantifications of airborne species and genetic traits. Sampling and interpretation of results, particularly action-thresholds, is improved by understanding components of air dispersal and dilution processes and can add greater precision in the application of crop protection products as part of integrated pest and disease management decisions. The applications of air samplers are likely to increase, with much greater adoption by growers or industry support workers to aid in crop protection decisions. The same devices are likely to improve information available for detection of allergens causing hay fever and asthma or provide valuable metadata for regional plant disease dynamics
Weak-Localization in Chaotic Versus Non-Chaotic Cavities: A Striking Difference in the Line Shape
We report experimental evidence that chaotic and non-chaotic scattering
through ballistic cavities display distinct signatures in quantum transport. In
the case of non-chaotic cavities, we observe a linear decrease in the average
resistance with magnetic field which contrasts markedly with a Lorentzian
behavior for a chaotic cavity. This difference in line-shape of the
weak-localization peak is related to the differing distribution of areas
enclosed by electron trajectories. In addition, periodic oscillations are
observed which are probably associated with the Aharonov-Bohm effect through a

Description of inclusive scattering of 4.045 GeV electrons from D
We exploit a relationship between the Structure Functions of nucleons, the
physical deuteron and of a deuteron, composed of point-nucleons to compute
angular distributions of inclusive cross sections of 4.05 GeV electrons. We
report general agreement with data and interpret the remaining discrepancies.
We discuss the potential of the data for information on neutron structure

Generalized parton distributions and double distributions for q q-bar pions
We consider two simple covariant models for pions (one with scalar and the
other with spin-1/2 constituents). Pion generalized parton distributions are
derived by integration over the light-cone energy. The model distributions are
consistent with all known properties of generalized parton distributions,
including positivity. We also construct the corresponding double distributions
by appealing to Lorentz invariance. These ostensibly constructed double
distributions lead to different generalized parton distributions that need not
respect the positivity constraints. This inconsistency arises from the
ambiguity inherent in defining double distributions in a one-component
formalism (even in the absence of the Polyakov-Weiss term). We demonstrate that
the correct model double distributions can be calculated from non-diagonal

GRS computation of deep inelastic electron scattering on 4He
We compute cross sections for inclusive scattering of high energy electrons
on 4He, based on the two lowest orders of the Gersch-Rodriguez-Smith (GRS)
series. The required one- and two-particle density matrices are obtained from
non-relativistic 4He wave functions using realistic models for the
nucleon-nucleon and three-nucleon interaction. Predictions for E=3.6 GeV agree

Time-integrated luminosity recorded by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e+e- collider
This article is the Preprint version of the final published artcile which can be accessed at the link below.We describe a measurement of the time-integrated luminosity of the data collected by the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+e- collider at the ϒ(4S), ϒ(3S), and ϒ(2S) resonances and in a continuum region below each resonance. We measure the time-integrated luminosity by counting e+e-→e+e- and (for the ϒ(4S) only) e+e-→μ+μ- candidate events, allowing additional photons in the final state. We use data-corrected simulation to determine the cross-sections and reconstruction efficiencies for these processes, as well as the major backgrounds. Due to the large cross-sections of e+e-→e+e- and e+e-→μ+μ-, the statistical uncertainties of the measurement are substantially smaller than the systematic uncertainties. The dominant systematic uncertainties are due to observed differences between data and simulation, as well as uncertainties on the cross-sections. For data collected on the ϒ(3S) and ϒ(2S) resonances, an additional uncertainty arises due to ϒ→e+e-X background. For data collected off the ϒ resonances, we estimate an additional uncertainty due to time dependent efficiency variations, which can affect the short off-resonance runs.
