EasyBDI: integração automática de big data e consultas analíticas de alto nível
Abstract The emergence of new areas, such as the internet of things, which require access
to the latest data for data analytics and decision-making environments,
created constraints for the execution of analytical queries on traditional data
warehouse architectures.
In addition, the increase of semi-structure and unstructured data led to the
creation of new databases to deal with these types of data, namely, NoSQL
databases. This led to the information being stored in several different systems,
each with more suitable characteristics for different use cases, which
created difficulties in accessing data that are now spread across various systems
with different models and characteristics.
In this work, a system capable of performing analytical queries in real time
on distributed and heterogeneous data sources is proposed: EasyBDI. The
system is capable of integrating data logically, without materializing data,
creating an overview of the data, thus offering an abstraction over the distribution
and heterogeneity of data sources. Queries are executed interactively
on data sources, which means that the most recent data will always be used
in queries. This system presents a user interface that helps in the configuration
of data sources, and automatically proposes a global schema that
presents a generic and simplified view of the data, which can be modified
by the user. The system allows the creation of multiple star schemas from
the global schema. Finally, analytical queries are also made through a user
interface that uses drag-and-drop elements.
EasyBDI is able to solve recent problems by using recent solutions, hiding
the details of several data sources, at the same time that allows users with
less knowledge of databases to also be able to perform real-time analytical

Taxonomic Partition Suggests a High Degree of Coevolution Between Termites and Their Termitophiles
Termites have a tight interaction with their social parasitic Corotocini beetles. This association is thought to be mainly host-specific, despite some host-switch events. By analyzing the taxonomic partition between species and genera of Corotocini, we propose the hypothesis that the main driver of the diversity of these termitophiles is coevolution
This study deals with the global estimation of the species of Corotocini (Aleocharinae) based on taxonomic description rates. We estimate the maximum number of possible extant species by maximum likelihood using the Michaelis-Menten model fitted into a non-linear regression. Although the studies regarding Corotocini are majorly taxonomic descriptions, the results suggest that there are many yet undescribed species, We also highlight that the basic knowledge regarding these organisms ecology is fairly obscure. Since the discovery of the first organism living in association with termites, the taxonomic effort hasn't been constant along the years, and although our results suggest that many species lie undiscovered, the lack of specialized professionals can compromise the actual knowledge regarding their biodiversity. Besides that, we comment on the future of this field and the lack of specimens from various locations.

Fracture of the posterior malleolus: an underdiagnosed condition
The ankle joint is the most commonly injured joint during sports activity. While ankle sprains occur more frequently, ankle fractures are less common. Due to its low incidence, the isolated fracture of the posterior malleolus still represents a diagnosis challenge. This article reports a case of a female with a posterior malleolus isolated fracture after falling while performing sports activity. Clinical examination and conventional radiography were consistent with diagnosis of a simple ankle sprain and the patient was discharged with a conservative approach for lateral ankle sprain. Due to persistent pain the patient return for additional examination, which the differential diagnosis revealed an isolated fracture of the posterior malleolus without displacement of the fragment. The patient was immobilized with a suropodalic splint for 4 weeks followed by additional conservative. At the fourth month of follow-up, the patient was asymptomatic and showed good clinical and functional outcomes. This case highlights the importance of a comprehensive medical history and detailed clinical examination which may reveal pathological features that require a differential diagnosis
Tibial tunnel positioning on lateral radiographs in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction: a single surgeon experience
Background: Accurate tunnel positioning in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery is one of the cornerstones for its success. However, it is still controversial and target of disagreement within the orthopedic literature. Therefore, it was aimed to evaluate the tibial tunnel placement in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgeries of a single orthopedic surgeon. Methods: The postoperative knee sagittal radiographs of anterior cruciate ligament reconstructed knees from a single surgeon were retrospectively collected. To assess the tunnel positions was used predefined criteria (in percentage and in millimeters) within the intervals found in the literature (41-43 percent and 21-23 millimeters). Results: There were no significant differences between the number of results (% and mm), within and without the intervals that were considered acceptable for this measure (P >0.05). It was found significant differences in the absolute deviation (%) throughout non-consecutive years (P <0.05). There was no correlation between the absolute deviations and the years of experience (r =-0.080, P =0.663).Conclusions: Significant differences were found in the absolute deviation (%) throughout non-consecutive years, suggesting variations in the tunnel position throughout the years.
Computational Modeling of the Thermal Behavior of a Greenhouse
The need for production of all kinds of crops in high quantities and over the entire
year makes the agricultural sector one of the major energy consumers. The optimization of this
consumption is essential to guarantee its sustainability. The implementation of greenhouses is a
strategy that allows assurance of production needs and possesses large optimization potential for
the process. This article studies different greenhouse structures by computational simulation using
EnergyPlus and DesignBuilder. First, a comparison was performed between the computational
results and the measured values from a greenhouse prototype at different operating conditions.
Overall, the comparison shows that the computational tool can provide a reasonable prediction of
the greenhouse thermal behavior, depending on the differences between the weather data modeled
and observed. An outdoor air temperature difference of 16 ◦C can cause a difference of about 10 ◦C
between the air temperature predicted and measured inside the greenhouse. Subsequently, a selected
set of case studies was developed in order to quantify their influence on the thermal performance of
the greenhouse, namely: the greenhouse configuration and orientation; the variation of indoor air
renewal; changes to the characteristics of the roof; the effect of the thermal mass of the walls; and
location of the greenhouse. The results show that a correct greenhouse orientation, together with
a polyethylene double cover with a 13 mm air layer, a granite wall of 40 cm thickness on the north
wall, and variable airflow rate, may lead to a reduction of the greenhouse energy consumption by
57%, if the greenhouse is located in Lisbon, or by 43%, if it is located in Ostersund, during the harshest months of the heating season.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
