Elatinaceae are Sister to Malpighiaceae; Peridiscaceae Belong to Saxifragales
Phylogenetic data from plastid (ndhF and rbcL) and nuclear (PHYC) genes indicate that, within the order Malpighiales, Elatinaceae are strongly supported as sister to Malpighiaceae. There are several putative morphological synapomorphies for this clade; most notably, they both have a base chromosome number of X = 6 (or some multiple of three or six), opposite or whorled leaves with stipules, unicellular hairs (also uniseriate in some Elatinaceae), multicellular glands on the leaves, and resin (Elatinacae) or latex (Malpighiaceae). Further study is needed to determine if these features are synapomorphic within the order. Malpighiaceae have previously been inferred as sister to Peridiscaceae based on rbcL sequence data, but the rbcL sequence of Whittonia is a chimera of two sequences, neither of which appears to be Whittonia. Our data from plastid (atpB, rbcL) and nuclear (18S rDNA) genes instead place Peridiscaeace as a member of the Saxifragales.Organismic and Evolutionary Biolog
COMPARISON OF RANDOM FOREST AND SUPPORT VECTOR MACHINE METHODS ON TWITTER SENTIMENT ANALYSIS (CASE STUDY: INTERNET SELEBGRAM RACHEL VENNYA ESCAPE FROM QUARANTINE)
Coronavirus (Covid-19) is an infectious disease spreading widely throughout the world. Covid-19 has been declared a pandemic. Transmission of Covid-19 spreads through the Droplet. The Indonesian government has made efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19, one of which is the implementation of quarantine regulated through Circular Letter Number 8 of 2021 concerning International Travel Health Protocols. The case of Selebgram Rachel Vennya's escape from quarantine had become a trending topic on Twitter. Many Twitter users in Indonesia gave their opinions and comments on this case. Therefore, it is necessary to research public sentiment on the case of the escape of Selebgram Rachel Vennya from quarantine. The data used is taken from netizen comments from social media, namely Twitter, in the form of positive and negative comments; the algorithms used are Random Forest (RF) and Support Vector Machine (SVM). This study aims to compare the classification method to public sentiment regarding the case of the escape of Selebgram Rachel Vennya from quarantine using the Random Forest and SVM methods. The classification results show that the Random Forest algorithm has an accuracy value of 94%. In comparison, the SVM algorithm classification results get an accuracy value of 93%. So it can be concluded, Twitter sentiment analysis in the case study of Rachel Venya's escape from quarantine that the Random Forest algorithm got the best results
Recovering plant data for Guinea-Bissau: implications for biodiversity knowledge of West Africa
ReviewThe rich plant diversity that characterizes the West African Region and the inherent
knowledge of their flora and vegetation has been the backbone of scientific explorations during the
past centuries. The evolution of botanical knowledge on Guinea-Bissau, throughout the 16th and
20th centuries is reviewed. We present and discuss floristic data collected by scientific expeditions
between the mid-1700s to 1974, when the Portuguese colonial period ended. Expeditions undertaken
by French naturalists provided some of the earliest plant collections. A list of herbarium specimens
collected by the French naturalist Jardin, in the Bijagós Islands in ca. 1847–1858 is presented here
for the first time, while in the late 1800s some Portuguese naturalists also explored Guinea-Bissau.
During the colonial period (1915–1974), Gomes e Sousa published the first comprehensive study of
the territory’s flora while Espírito Santo assembled the largest plant collection. Our review applies
a multi-disciplinary perspective to fill important lacuna regarding biodiversity knowledge of this
under-researchedWest African country. It constitutes the first study tracing the long term evolution
of knowledge on Guinea Bissau's plant diversity, which provides the basis for understanding trends
and research priorities, in particular in conservation and botanical fieldsinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
