Uncovering the host galaxy of the -ray-emitting narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxy FBQS J1644+2619
The discovery of -ray emission from radio-loud narrow-line Seyfert 1
(NLSy1) galaxies has questioned the need for large black hole masses (> 10
M) to launch relativistic jets. We present near-infrared data of the
-ray-emitting NLSy1 FBQS J1644+2619 that were collected using the
camera CIRCE (Canarias InfraRed Camera Experiment) at the 10.4-m Gran
Telescopio Canarias to investigate the structural properties of its host galaxy
and to infer the black hole mass. The 2D surface brightness profile is modelled
by the combination of a nuclear and a bulge component with a S\'ersic profile
with index = 3.7, indicative of an elliptical galaxy. The structural
parameters of the host are consistent with the correlations of effective radius
and surface brightness against absolute magnitude measured for elliptical
galaxies. From the bulge luminosity, we estimated a black hole mass of
(2.10.2) 10 M, consistent with the values

Social Perception of the Residents of Olón, Montañita, and Valdivia as a Conditioning Factor in the Satisfaction of Tourists
This research aims to understand the social perception of the communities of Olón, Montañita, and Valdivia in the sociocultural, socio-territorial, and socio-cognitive dimensions, as a determining factor in the satisfaction of national and foreign tourists in terms of destination, service, and infrastructure. The design is nonexperimental, with a correlational scope and a mixed approach. Data collection techniques used were a semi-structured interview with 24 residents and a survey of 396 residents and 396 tourists. STATIS Dual and MPLS (multiway partial least squares) were the software used for the treatment of quantitative information. It was determined that the social perception in the three communes was relatively similar, the sociocultural dimension being the best scored for being linked to the tourist development of Olón and Montañita. Whereas a significant difference was observed between the communes in terms of tourist satisfaction, placing Montañita as the leader in all dimensions of the variable, followed by Olón and Valdivia. With an adjustment of 69%, the MPLS model was directly related to the variables, implying that any change in the perception of the residents affects the satisfaction of tourists.

Resumen
El objetivo de esta investigación es conocer la percepción social de las comunidades de Olón, Montañita y Valdivia en las dimensiones socio cultural, socio territorial y socio cognitivo, como condicionante en la satisfacción de los turistas nacionales y extranjeros en cuanto al destino, servicio e infraestructura. El diseño es no experimental, de alcance correlacional y enfoque mixto; como técnicas de recolección de datos se utilizaron: entrevista semi estructurada a 24 residentes y, encuesta a 396 residentes y 396 turistas. Para el tratamiento de la información cuantitativa se utilizaron software STATIS Dual y MPLS (Multiway partial least squares). Se determinó que la percepción social en las tres comunas es relativamente similar, siendo la dimensión socio cultural la mejor puntuada por encontrarse ligada al desarrollo turístico de Olón y Montañita; mientras que, existe diferencia significativa entre las comunas en cuanto a satisfacción de los turistas, colocando a Montañita como líder en todas las dimensiones de la variable, seguida de Olón y Valdivia. Con un ajuste de 69%, el modelo MPLS relacionó directamente las variables, implicando que cualquier cambio en la percepción de los residentes incide sobre la satisfacción de los turistas.

Analise dos aspetos psicológicos na formação das Lovemarks
This paper aims to be a theoretical contribution to the understanding of underlying psychological processes of Kevin Roberts’ lovemarks concept that, in the marketing field, replaces brands, as we know it. The first section provides a brief story of branding evolution from a marketing and consumer psychology perspective. In the second section, Roberts’ lovemarks theory is explained, along with its components, the love/respect axis and mystery, sensuality and intimacy characteristics are analyzed. In addition, other branding literature authors and several successful applied cases are presented to support the theory. The third section is about the identification and analysis of the psychological aspects and processes that are relevant in lovemarks formation: perception, memory, individual and social motivation, and emotion. The fourth and last section is about the conclusions and implications in a consumer-brand relationship.El presente trabajo es una reflexión teórica que busca contribuir al entendimiento de los procesos psicológicos subyacentes en la teoría de Kevin Roberts sobre lovemarks que, dentro de la mercadotecnia, ha buscado reemplazar la idea tradicional que se tiene sobre las marcas. La primera parte proporciona una introducción sobre la evolución de las marcas desde una perspectiva psicológica y de mercadeo. La segunda parte explica la teoría de lovemarks y sus componentes: el eje amor/respeto, las características de misterio, sensualidad e intimidad. Adicionalmente, se soporta esta teoría a través de literatura complementaria y casos de éxito. La tercera parte, corresponde a la identificación y análisis de los procesos psicológicos que explican la formación de un lovemark: percepción, memoria, motivación individual y social y emoción. La cuarta y última parte contiene las conclusiones e implicaciones en la formación de la relación marca-consumidor.O presente trabalho é uma reflexão teórica que procura contribuir ao entendimento dos processos psicológicos subjacentes na teoria de Kevin Roberts acerca das lovemarks que, ao interior da mercadologia, tem procurado substituir a ideia tradicional que se tem ao respeito das marcas. A segunda parte exprime a teoria das lovemarks e os seus componentes: o eixo amor/respeito, as características de mistério, sensualidade e intimidade. Adicionalmente, esta teoria é suportada pela literatura complementaria e casos de sucesso. Salinity induced anatomical and morphological changes in Chloris gayana Kunth roots
Chloris gayana Kunth is a grass species valuable as forage which was introduced into Argentina to be used as pasture in saline soils of subtropical and warm-temperate zones, given its good adaptability to drought, salinity and mild freezing. However, its tolerance varies according to the cultivar. In tetraploid cultivars, important reductions in yield have been observed. Here, a study of the variations produced on the root and stem system by salinity at different NaCl concentrations (0, 150 y 250 mM) was performed in the Boma cultivar, with the aim of determining the anatomical and morphological alterations produced by the salt excess. Plants cultivated with the highest level of salinity showed, in the whole, significant differences in the measured variables. A diminution in absolute values of the variables and a major reduction in vascular tissue dimensions were observed, which suggests that the lack of tolerance to salt stress could be related to a deficient adaptation to absorb and transport water and nutrients from the roots.Instituto de Fisiología y Recursos Genéticos VegetalesFil: Ceccoli, Gabriel. The soft X-ray and narrow-line emission of Mrk573 on kiloparcec scales
We present a study of the circumnuclear region of the nearby Seyfert galaxy
Mrk573 using Chandra, XMM-Newton and HST data. The X-ray morphology shows a
biconical region extending up to 12 arcsecs (4 kpc) in projection from the
nucleus. A strong correlation between the X-rays and the highly ionized gas
seen in the [O III] image is reported. Moreover, we have studied the line
intensities detected with the RGS/XMM-Newton and used them to fit the low
resolution EPIC/XMM-Newton and ACIS/Chandra spectra. The RGS spectrum is
dominated by emission lines of C VI, O VII, O VIII, Fe XVII, and Ne IX, among
others. A good fit is obtained using these emission lines found in the RGS
spectrum as a template for Chandra spectra of the nucleus and extended
emission. The photoionization model Cloudy provides a reasonable fit for both
the nuclear region and the cone-like structures. For the nucleus the emission
is modelled using two phases: a high ionization [log(U)=1.23] and a low
ionization [log(U)=0.13]. For the high ionization phase the transmitted and
reflected component are in a ratio 1:2, whereas for the low ionization the
reflected component dominates. For the extended emission, we successfully
reproduced the emission with two phases. The first phase shows a higher
ionization parameter for the NW (log(U)=0.9) than for the SE cone (log(U)=0.3).
The second phase shows a low ionization parameter (log(U)=-3) and is rather
uniform for NW and SE cones. In addition, the nuclear optical/infrared SED has
been modeled by a clumpy torus model. The torus bolometric luminosity agrees
with the AGN luminosity inferred from the observed hard X-ray spectrum. The
optical depth along the line of sight derived from the SED fit indicates a high
neutral column density in agreement with the classification of the nucleus as a

The infrared to X-ray correlation spectra of unobscured type 1 active galactic nuclei
We use new X-ray data obtained with the Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array (NuSTAR), near-infrared (NIR) fluxes and mid-infrared (MIR) spectra of a sample of 24 unobscured type 1 active galactic nuclei (AGN) to study the correlation between various hard X-ray bands between 3 and 80 keV and the infrared (IR) emission. The IR to X-ray correlation spectrum (IRXCS) shows a maximum at ∼15–20 μm, coincident with the peak of the AGN contribution to the MIR spectra of the majority of the sample. There is also an NIR correlation peak at ∼2 μm, which we associate with the NIR bump observed in some type 1 AGN at ∼1–5 μm and is likely produced by nuclear hot dust emission. The IRXCS shows practically the same behaviour in all the X-ray bands considered, indicating a common origin for all of them. We finally evaluated correlations between the X-ray luminosities and various MIR emission lines. All the lines show a good correlation with the hard X-rays (ρ ≥ 0.7), but we do not find the expected correlation between their ionization potentials and the strength of the IRXCS
Effect of hypobaric hypoxia on hematological parameters related to oxygen transport, blood volume and oxygen consumption in adolescent endurance-training athletes
Background/Objective:To analyze the effect of altitude on hematological and cardiorespiratory variables in adolescent athletes participating in aerobic disciplines. Methods:21 females and 89 males participated in the study. All were adolescent elite athletes engaged in endurance sports (skating, running and cycling) belonging to two groups: permanent residents in either low altitude (LA, 966 m) or moderate altitude (MA, 2640 m). Hematocrit (Hct), hemoglobin concentration ([Hb]), total hemoglobin mass (Hbt), blood, plasma and erythrocyte volumes (BV, PV and EV), VO2peak and other cardiorespiratory parameters were evaluated. Results:Sex differences were evident both in LA and HA skating practitioners, the males having higher significant values than the females in oxygen transport-related hematological parameters and VO2peak. The effect of altitude residence was also observed in Hct, [Hb], Hbt and EV with increased (14%–18%) values in the hematological parameters and higher EV (5%–24%). These results matched the significantly higher values of VO2peak measured in MA residents. However, BV and PV did not show differences between LA and MA residents in any case. Sports discipline influenced neither the hematological variables nor most of the cardiorespiratory parameters. Conclusions:LA and MA adolescent skaters showed sex differences in hematological variables. Endurance-trained male adolescent residents at MA had an increased erythropoietic response and a higher VO2peak compared to their counterparts residing and training at LA. These responses are similar in the three aerobic sports studied, indicating that the variables described are highly sensitive to hypoxia irrespective of the sports discipline
The nuclear and extended infrared emission of the Seyfert galaxy NGC 2992 and the interacting system Arp 245
We present subarcsecond resolution infrared (IR) imaging and mid-IR
spectroscopic observations of the Seyfert 1.9 galaxy NGC 2992, obtained with
the Gemini North Telescope and the Gran Telescopio CANARIAS (GTC). The N-band
image reveals faint extended emission out to ~3 kpc, and the PAH features
detected in the GTC/CanariCam 7.5-13 micron spectrum indicate that the bulk of
this extended emission is dust heated by star formation. We also report
arcsecond resolution MIR and far-IR imaging of the interacting system Arp 245,
taken with the Spitzer Space Telescope and the Herschel Space Observatory.
Using these data, we obtain nuclear fluxes using different methods and find
that we can only recover the nuclear fluxes obtained from the subarcsecond data
at 20-25 micron, where the AGN emission dominates. We fitted the nuclear IR
spectral energy distribution of NGC 2992, including the GTC/CanariCam nuclear
spectrum (~50 pc), with clumpy torus models. We then used the best-fitting
torus model to decompose the Spitzer/IRS 5-30 spectrum (~630 pc) in AGN and
starburst components, using different starburst templates. We find that,
whereas at shorter mid-IR wavelengths the starburst component dominates (64% at
6 micron), the AGN component reaches 90% at 20 micron. We finally obtained dust
masses, temperatures and star formation rates for the different components of
the Arp 245 system and find similar values for NGC 2992 and NGC 2993. These
measurements are within those reported for other interacting systems in the
