Research on heteregeneous data for recognizing threat

The information increasingly large of volume dataset and multidimensional data has grown rapidly in recent years. Inter-related and update information from security communities or vendor network security has present of content vulnerability and patching bug from new attack (pattern) methods. It given a collection of datasets, we were asked to examine a sample of such data and look for pattern which may exist between certain pattern methods over time. There are several challenges, including handling dynamic data, sparse data, incomplete data, uncertain data, and semistructured/unstructured data. In this paper, we are addressing these challenges and using data mining approach to collecting scattered information in routine update regularly from provider or security community

Hear our voices: Pre-service English Teachers’ Challenges and Expectations during Teaching Practice

Abstract: Teaching practicum is one of the most fundamental and crucial stages in the teacher preparation program. The pre-service teacher readiness can be developed to become a qualified future teacher. This descriptive qualitative study is aimed to find the challenges and expectations of pre-service English teachers, mentor teachers, university supervisor, and the head of the teaching practice program. The findings indicated that pre-service teachers are challenged to improve their classroom management, strategies, and methods of teaching. The pre-service teachers, mentor teachers, and university supervisor are expected to gain benefits and successful school-university partnership.Keywords: challenges, expectations, pre-service english teacher, teaching practiceAbstrak: Praktek mengajar adalah salah satu tahap yang paling penting dan berpengaruh dalam program persiapan guru. Kesiapan praktikan dapat dikembangkan untuk menjadi guru masa depan yang berkualitas. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk menemukan tantangan dan ekspektasi praktikan bahasa Inggris, guru pamong, dosen pembimbing, dan kepala program praktik mengajar. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa praktikan ditantang untuk meningkatkan manajemen kelas, strategi, dan metode pengajaran mereka. Konflik dalam proses penilaian prestasi dalam organisasi

Kajian ini dijalankan untuk mengenal pasti kewujudan konflik dalam proses penilaian prestasi dan kesannya terhadap prestasi pekerja dalam organisasi. Penilaian prestasi merupakan satu mekanisme penting yang membolehkan organisasi menilai keberkesanan dan sumbangan pekerja terhadap organisasi. Namun dalam menguruskan penilaian prestasi, konflik tidak dapat dielakkan bilamana pihak pengurusan perlu memberi penilaian terhadap pencapaian para pekerja. Kajian berkaitan penilaian prestasi masih kurang mendapat perhatian dalam kalangan pengkaji, khususnya dalam konteks organisasi di Malaysia. Maka, kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti kewujudan konflik dalam organisasi yang dikaji dan seterusnya meneliti kesannya terhadap prestasi pekerja. Kajian ini telah dijalankan terhadap dua buah organisasi di Malaysia menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Kaedah temu bual bersemuka telah dijalankan terhadap 15 orang peserta yang terdiri daripada pengurus sebagai penilai dalam penilaian prestasi serta para pekerja atau eksekutif yang dinilai. Modified algorithm for image watermarking using 2D-DCT and elgamal cryptosystem / Nur Azien Yazid, Kamilah Abdullah and Suhaila Abd Halim

Image watermarking embeds identifying information in an image in such a manner that it cannot easily be removed. For the past several years, image digital watermarking has become a necessary element used for hid ing secret image and enabling secured communication such as privacy, confidentiality, authentication and data integrity. Although numerous watermarking schemes are present in grayscale images, the present work focuses on the RGB color image. This study proposed a new hybrid method that would satisfy the essential needs of modern image watermarking. The color image watermarking is based on the 2D Discrete Cosine Transform and Egamal cryptosystem.The 2D Discrete Cosine Transform depends on the matrix products, while the ElGamal cryptosystem depends on the discrete logarithm problem. The cryptosystem is combined with existing Arnold transform in watermarking algorithm to enhance the security of secret image. Value of Peak Signal to Noise Ratio was taken as performance evaluation parameters. On the whole, the performance evaluation shows that combining the two algorithms improved the performance of image watermarking

Attack and Vulnerability Penetration Testing: FreeBSD

 Computer system security has become a major concern over the past few years. Attacks, threats or intrusions, against computer system and network have become commonplace events. However, there are some system devices and other tools that are available to overcome the threat of these attacks. Currently, cyber attack is a major research and inevitable. This paper presents some steps of penetration in FreeBSD operating system, some tools and new steps to attack used in this experiment, probes for reconnaissance, guessing password via brute force, gaining privilege access and flooding victim machine to decrease availability. All these attacks were executed and infiltrate within the environment of Intrusion Threat Detection Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (ITD UTM) data set. This work is expected to be a reference for practitioners to prepare their systems from Internet attacks

Human and Animals Conflicts: A case study of wildlife roadkill in Malaysia

Conflicts between humans and animals have been a challenge due to rapid urbanization. Most of the forest is cleared to build roads and highway. Thus, animals need to migrate or move for their survival. This paper aims to review wildlife roadkill data from PERHILITAN and arranged it under several groups of species. Here, quantitative analysis of the roadkill data is used to select one species as the primary subject (Malayan Tapir). It has been observed that Malayan Tapir has involved in 68 vehicle collisions with a total loss of RM6.8 million in 5 years. PENANAMAN NILAI-NILAI PENDIDIKAN CINTA RASUL MELALUI SENI HADRAH DI PONDOK PESANTREN AL-AMIN PABUARAN PURWOKERTO

Tugas pendidikan Islama adalah mewariskan nilai-nilai Islam, karena nilai pendidikan Islam dianggap mati jika nilai-nilai tersebut tidak berfungsi dengan baik dan tidak ada generasi selanjutnya. Lembaga pendidikan harus mampu menjaga pengalaman dari generasi terdahulu melaui sebuah tradisi. Seiring berjalannya waktu teknik-teknik pendidikan Islam tidak akan pernah habis. Sebuah teknik yang dilakukan di Pondok Pesantren al-Amin dengan cara contoh teladan yaitu meneladani Rasulullah Saw. Pondok Pesantren al-Amin Pabuaran mencoba melakukan penanaman nilai-nilai pendidikan cinta Rasul melalui seni hadrah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis proses penanaman nilai-nilai pendidikan cinta Rasul melalui seni hadrah. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah putra pengasuh Pondok Pesantren al-Amin Pabuaran selaku pemimpin kesenian hadrah, para santri dan pengurus Pondok Pesantren al-Amin Pabuaran. Kemudian dilakukan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Setelah itu, data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan mereduksi data, menyajikan data dan membuat conclusion atau kesimpulan. Dari analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa penelitian proses penanaman nilai-nilai pendidikan cinta Rasul melalui seni hadrah terdiri atas lima tahap. Tahap pertama adalah tahap menyimak, tahap menanggapi, tahap memberi nilai, tahap mengorganisasi nilai, tahap terakhir adalah tahap karakterisasi nilai

The beneficial of wetland Tanjung Piai to community

Wetlands are one of the natural resources that can be seen are suffering for the past few years from human activities. The destruction of wetlands not only came from human activities but also from natural event such as continuous erosion that occurs at Tanjung Piai. The destruction of wetlands not only occurs in Malaysia but also in other country. The study was carried out at wetlands located in Tanjung Piai to identify the beneficial of wetland Tanjung Piai to community and wildlife. For the past few years, problem related to water such as flooding and water pollution worsen but wetlands seems to be one of the method to reduce these events. Wetland becomes storage area that accepts rainwater that cannot be accepted by river. Water that went through as groundwater recharge will go through filtration first thus, reducing the unwanted material in the water. Other than that wetland also acts as habitat for animals and measures to reduce erosion. Despite of the benefit of wetlands to community, wetland suffers from pollution, extinction of the mangrove and climate change. The study was carried out through observation and interview on the person in charge of the Tanjung Piai wetland. The objectives of the study are to identify the benefit of the wetland, problems that was suffered by wetland and measures to make sure wetland are in good condition
