It carries out a systematic and exhaustive floristic inventory in order to know the composition of vascular plants of the natural region of Western La Alcarria and “Mesa” of Ocaña (Central Iberian Peninsula). The survey method was applied in the NNE-SSW transect forming for five 1 Ă— 1-km U.T.M. grid squares (ED50) during one agricultural year (2002-2003). It allows consider almost the total richness notion of the floristic data and makes possible a geographical comparison of biodiversity in absolute terms. The Jaccard’s index is used to determine the floristic similarity between all grid cells and the taxonomic spectra is analyzed. The results show high levels of richness at all spatial levels (1634 native species at regional level; 690, in all five grid cells, and an average higher than 400 by grid cell). From highest to lowest, the regional typical spectrum presents a dominance of the daisy family, followed by grasses, legume family, crucifers and pink family; although the cells spectra have slight variations to this model.

Didactic strategies for comprehension and learning of structural concepts
p. 926-937In previous papers we have established the convenience of formulating educational
strategies at the university level for both disciplines: Civil Engineering and Architecture,
which involves academic topics of mutual interest by means of shared practices. As a
particular matter of this approach, the application of physical experimental models is
considered of special usefulness, in order to understand in better ways the performance of materials and structural systems.
Several strategies of selection and development of such physical models will be discussed in this work, considering as a first step, the establishment of its correspondence with the different levels of structural complexity studied in curriculum plan: statics, strength of materials and structural design, among others.
This task constitutes a part of the work program of the Laboratory of Structural Models,
which is an academic project that develops and applies different didactic prototypes to
structure courses in the Universidad AutĂłnoma Metropolitana, campus Azcapotzalco, in
Mexico City, project we have already presented in recent forums.
Two different modes of application are implemented in classroom sessions and in
structures workshop: the devices for functional demonstration of typical cases of structural work as well as the experimentation with student's own designs of destructible models where certain typologies are tested up to its failure limit.
The first one allows teachers to explain adequately the theoretical principles and formulas
(that usually are expressed on the blackboard) by means of didactic models identified in
accordance to specific cases of the curriculum on variable level of complexity. This kind of practice allows the students of architecture and civil engineering to realize in better ways the possibilities of use and application of the different structural typologies. Such
experimental models are part of more than fifty devices of the Laboratory's catalog.
In the same sense, the possibility of observation of structural work of their own
architectural designs, allows future professionals to achieve a better conception of the
structural solutions that affect positively their designs. Based on specific predefined guides, the students develop their own architectural-structural projects and subject them to diverse loads, observing their behavior under the influence of variable stresses leading up the experiment to its last resistance.
From both experiences a significant learning is obtained for the student's formation and
training, who will be capable in his future professional work to use better tools of
comprehension of the structural concepts applied to architecture as well as of increasing his conscience of the benefits and convenience of multidisciplinary work.
Se presenta un listado provisional de plantas alĂłctonas en AM.Biological spectra analysis initiated in previous papers (GarcĂa-Abad, 2009 and 2011, Parts I and II) is continued here. Floristic inventories are carried out during one agricultural year (2002-03) in five 1 km²- U.T.M. grid squares. These space tracts form a representative transect in Western La Alcarria and “Mesa” of Ocaña (AM). This Part III is about the biogeographical spectrum. We discriminate between native and no-native plants and analyze their provenance. In turn, Sanz et al. (2004) criteria were designed to discriminate between invasive alien and no-invasive alien plants. Since the both spaces are nested, locally determinated spectra could be related to the spectra of AM region.
Introducing emotions in the architectural design process
[EN] 3D images or architectural renders are expressive tools widely used by architectural students to
communicate their projects. Not only do these images have the task of transmitting the formal and functional
characteristics of the project, but also need to evoke in users the sort of feelings and emotions which can only be
aroused by experiencing the architecture. An experiment we undertook enabled us to find that these emotions can be
quantified and may relate to the design parameters of the image, moreover there are also substantial differences in the
valuation between architects and non-architects. Thus, the aim of this paper is to incorporate the results of our research
on the learning of this graphical tool into the learning of architecture. Therefore we have established a teaching
methodology in which the images are not only employed to show the final result of design, but are also incorporated
into the creative process to investigate emotional and aesthetic responses of the user of the designed space..Juan Vidal, F.; Iñarra Abad, S. (2015).
