Distribution and microhabitat selection of Hydropsyche exocellata Dufour (Trichoptera, Hydropsychidae) in a Mediterranean river affected of organic pollution : the Guadaira River (S. Spain)

During the wet season, floods in the Guadaira river can reach up to 2000 m3/s flow, whereas during dry season the river only receives crude domestic sewage effluents and periodical industrial effluents from olive oil factories. In this study, the distribution of Hydropsyche exocellata along the watercourse of the Guadaira river during the flood and drought periods and its preferences for the available microhabitats were studied. H. exocellata was the only hydropsychid found along the river, except at one site at the headwater where it was found coexisting with H. infernalis Schmid Its higher abundances were found at the start of the dry period (June) and at its end (October). From the IBMWP values obtained at the sampling sites, we found that the highest densities of H. exocellata were coincidental with ranks of this index characterizing moderately polluted waters, whereas it was not found at sites where pollution reached highest levels. Thus, it seems it avoids sites extremely polluted in the study area. From the stepwise multiple regression analysis and microhabitat selection results, we can infer that to get a successful population size it requires an environment basically consisting of fast water current velocity and firm substrate (stones).Durante la estación húmeda, las inundaciones en el río Guadaira pueden alcanzar hasta los 2000 m3/s de caudal, mientras que durante el estiaje solo recibe aguas residuales procedentes de los núcleos urbanos y, puntualmente, los procedentes de las industrias de maceración de la aceituna. En este trabajo se estudia la distribución H. exocellata a lo largo del curso principal del río Guadaira durante los periodos de estiaje e inundación y sus preferencias por los microhábitats disponibles. H. exocellata fue el único hydropsíquido encontrado a lo largo del río, excepto en una estación de cabecera donde se encontró coexistiendo con H. infernalis Schmid. Las abundancias más altas se encontraron a comienzos (Junio) y a finales (Octubre) del estiaje. A partir de los valores del indice IBMWP obtenidos en los sitios de muestreo, se encontró que las densidades más altas de H. exocellata coincidian con rangos de este índice que caracterizan aguas moderadamente contaminadas, mientras que no se encontró en las estaciones donde la contaminación era mayor, es decir, en el área de estudio parece evitar los sitios extremadamente contaminados. A partir de los resultados del análisis de regresión múltiple y de selección de microhábitats, podemos inferir que para lograr un tamaño de población exitoso, H. exocellata requiere un ambiente consistente básicamente en aguas de velocidad rápida y sustrato firme (piedras)

Attraction and Retention of Talent in the Tourism Sector. Empirical Evidence in the South of Europe

In this context, strategy in human resources, one of the key factors in achieving a competitive advantage, must be a stimulus to attract the most talented human capital and to develop its career in this sector, which will result in an improvement in the business performance expectations. The aim in this report is to obtain empirical evidence about the attraction and retention of the human capital with special abilities, in the Andalusian tourism sector (with special reference to Málaga and Granada), using educational disparity as a proxy. The methodology used in its analysis has been the statistical method, in the trend-based version, after categorizing the hotel establishments (in Málaga and Granada) using discriminating analysis of aggregate economic information most relevant to each enterprise. For the application of the statistical method, information from a survey done to hotel establishments and a Delphi analysis to experts and community leaders, have been used. The most relevant conclusion, in general terms, concerns the disparity between the assessment of the importance attached to the Human Resources Strategy and its development in practice. Estudio de factibilidad de implementación de una máquina empaquetadora, de la empresa Kola Shaler Industrial S. A. durante el período: Abril a Noviembre 2008

Estudio de factibilidad de Implementación de una Maquina Empaquetadora de bebidas en la Planta Kola Shaler Industrial S.A Un estudio preliminar. Este estudio preliminar de carácter explicativo, compara los costos de empaquetado con el sistema manual, en comparación de los costos utilizando una máquina empaquetadora automatizada. Se encontró en este estudio un alto valor de rentabilidad del proyecto. El estudio también describe los costos que se incurrirán para el transporte y montaje del equipo, así como una descripción del recorrido que realizara este equipo, desde la planta de la industria Zegla en Brasil hasta la empresa Kola Shaler Industrial en Managua Nicaragua. Además incluye la tabla de los costos reales que asumió la empresa Kola Shaler para realizar esta inversión, y una tabla donde se comparan los costos utilizando el sistema manual versus los costos utilizando la maquina empaquetadora ZEGLA. Una de las principales conclusiones fue la selección de la maquina empaquetadora de la empresa Brasileña ZEGLA, ya que a partir de esta selección se determinaron todos los costos que incurriría la empresa (inversión), y el periodo en que se recupera la inversión una vez iniciado el proyecto. Measure of the mining image

AbstractMining is a very important activity for economic and social development, but traditionally research has centered on its technical and operative aspects, instead of studying the image transmitted to the rest of society. This has originated diverse problems, fundamentally due to the information which the population receives via the mass media and which sometimes creates a current of opinion contrary to the development of this extraction activity. In order to resolve the mining communication problems it is necessary to develop a measure of the mining image based on a reliable and valid scale. This is a useful tool in developing a procedure to connect the society with other mining stakeholders and to analyze whether the real image of mining activity is similar to the image transmitted and perceived by society, since the news about the mining industry usually are focused on extreme situations or catastrophes that monopolize the information in the media. In this study a field research based on an attributes scale is developed, with the aim of measuring the mining image. The surveys were carried out in a mining area, where people have direct and real information about the mining industry and its consequences on society, environment and economy

La construcción de trayectorias personales de aprendizaje: conexiones entre experiencias de aprendizaje en múltiples contextos

[spa] La finalidad de esta investigación es contribuir al desarrollo de una formulación teórica, epistemológica y metodológica alrededor de la noción de trayectoria personal de aprendizaje, y contrastarla mediante un estudio empírico. En la sociedad contemporánea, se han consolidado muchos más contextos, actores y recursos que ofrecen oportunidades para aprender. Esta nueva ecología del aprendizaje plantea nuevos desafíos al sistema educativo que, de no abordarse adecuadamente, contribuirían al ya incipiente desdibujamiento del sentido de la educación escolar y a una mayor inequidad educativa. Así, se pone de manifiesto la urgencia y la relevancia de ampliar el foco de los aprendizajes escolares a los aprendizajes que tienen lugar en un ecosistema más amplio de contextos. En este marco, explorar las trayectorias personales de aprendizaje de jóvenes nos puede dar pistas sobre cómo las personas conectan sus experiencias de aprendizaje a través de múltiples contextos de actividad, desde una mirada al proceso de re-co-construcción discursiva del propio aprendizaje entre contextos. Concretamente, en este estudio nos hemos propuesto identificar y caracterizar las experiencias subjetivas de aprendizaje que refieren a diferentes contextos de actividad y las conexiones que se establecen entre estas. Para ello, hemos llevado a cabo un estudio empírico de casos múltiple, desde una perspectiva cualitativa, fenomenológica e interpretativa. Hemos seleccionado 20 participantes (10 jóvenes adolescentes y 10 jóvenes adultos/as) a los que hemos realizado entrevistas en profundidad semiestructuradas sobre sus trayectorias de aprendizaje. En 14 de los casos, hemos realizado una segunda entrevista en un segundo momento de recogida de datos. Hemos analizado las 34 entrevistas mediante un proceso de análisis temático. Los resultados subrayan la relevancia de indagar en el aprendizaje entre contextos poniendo el énfasis en el proceso subjetivo y discursivo que permite resignificar las vivencias de participar y aprender en múltiples contextos. Se destaca, entre otros aspectos, la necesidad de atender a nuevos contextos, actores, artefactos y formas de aprendizaje; la relación de las emociones, el interés y la funcionalidad con las conexiones de continuidad y el sentido del aprendizaje; y el papel fundamental que juegan los significados sobre el aprendizaje y sobre uno/a mismo/a para construir las trayectorias personales de aprendizaje y proyectarse hacia el futuro.[eng] The purpose of this research is to contribute to the development of a theoretical, epistemological and methodological formulation about the concept of personal learning trajectory, and test it through an empirical study. In contemporary society, more contexts, actors and resources that offer learning opportunities have emerged. This new learning ecology present new challenges to the educational system that, if not addressed adequately, would contribute to the already incipient blurring of the sense of school education and educational inequity. Thus, the urgency and relevance of expanding the focus of school learning to learning that takes place in a broader ecosystem of contexts is highlighted. In this framework, exploring the personal learning trajectories of young people can give us clues about how people connect their learning experiences across multiple activity contexts, from a look at the process of discursive re-co-construction of learning between contexts. Specifically, in this study we proposed to identify and characterize subjective learning experiences that refer to different activity contexts and the connections established between them. Thereby, we have carried out an empiric multiple case study, from a qualitative, phenomenological and interpretive perspective. We selected 20 participants (10 young adolescents and 10 young adults) to whom we have conducted in-depth semistructured interviews about their learning trajectories. In 14 of the cases, we conducted a second interview at a different moment. We analyzed the 34 interviews through a thematic analysis process. The results underline the relevance of attending to learning across contexts by emphasizing the subjective and discursive process that allows to resignify learning experiences through multiple contexts. Among other aspects, it stands out the need to attend to new contexts, actors, artifacts and forms of learning; the relationship of emotions, interest and functionality with the connections of continuity and learning sense-making; and the fundamental role of identity and conceptions about learning to build personal learning trajectories and project towards the future

La juventud del norte de Marruecos y los valores. Prospección en torno al pensamiento de la juventud universitaria en las zonas colindantes con España

Investigación sobre los jóvenes universitarios del Norte de Marruecos en las zonas colindantes con España (Región Tánger-Tetuán y Región Oriental, zona de Nador). El estudio parte de un trabajo de campo, con la realización de 1452 encuestas a los jóvenes. El estudio comienza con un análisis de las principales características del país y de las dos zonas de procedencia de los estudiantes, para a continuación realizar un recorrido por los principales estudios sociológicos realizados sobre la juventud en Marruecos desde la década de los años 60 del siglo pasado. El cuerpo del estudio se centra en el análisis de los caracteres familiares y del pensamiento de los jóvenes sobre la familia y las relaciones familiares; de los caracteres y del pensamiento religiosos de los jóvenes y de la importancia de la religión en el modo de vida; de los caracteres en el mundo de los valores, de la intersección entre valores tradicionales y nuevos valores emergentes; de los caracteres a nivel socio-político, incidiendo en la ideología, el nivel asociativo, la afiliación a partidos y sindicatos, así como la valoración de las principales instituciones del país; de las relaciones con España, estableciendo los niveles de identidad de los jóvenes, los principales problemas que detectan en la relación con España, de la emigración y de las relaciones de vecindad en el presente y en el futuro; de los caracteres de la lengua española y de la valoración que hacen los jóvenes de su conocimiento, uso y perspectivas de cara al futuro; y por último, del análisis de los caracteres de la relación de los jóvenes con respecto a Andalucía
