AS MUDANÇAS DA PAISAGEM NA AVENIDA GUAÍBA A PARTIR DA IMPLEMENTAÇÃO DO ATACADO BARATÃO, NO SETOR ARAGUAÍNA SUL, EM ARAGUAÍNA-TOCANTINS

The metamorphosis of urban space has been the object of study in Geography for a long time and, currently, it gains a certain degree of prominence, since transformations in the form, function and structure of landscapes happen in an increasingly complex and fast way. In this context, this article presents an analysis of the changes that occurred in the landscape of Avenida Guaíba, located in the Araguaína Sul sector, in Araguaína - TO, from the construction and implementation of the supermarket “Atacado Baratão”. In the light of geographic science, the analytical category used was landscape, which gives us theoretical and methodological subsidies to understand the transformations that occurred over time in the configuration of rural and urban areas. From the qualitative approach, the methodology used for the development of the research was characterized by means of: bibliographical and documental research; field research; analysis of data and information; and, finally, writing the work. It was found that the area under analysis has undergone a series of changes in its landscape, due to the implementation of “Atacado Baratão”, which is part of a local wholesale and retail sales network.A metamorfose do espaço urbano tem sido objeto de estudo da Geografia há muito tempo e, atualmente, ganha certo grau de destaque, visto que as transformações da forma, da função e da estrutura das paisagens acontecem de maneira cada vez mais complexa e rápida. Nesse contexto, o presente artigo apresenta uma análise sobre as mudanças ocorridas na paisagem da avenida Guaíba, localizada no setor Araguaína Sul, em Araguaína – TO, a partir da construção e implementação do supermercado “Atacado Baratão”. À luz da ciência geográfica, a categoria analítica empregada foi a de paisagem, a qual nos dá subsídios teórico-metodológicos para compreender as transformações ocorridas ao longo do tempo na configuração das áreas rurais e urbanas. A partir da abordagem qualitativa, a metodologia empregada para o desenvolvimento da pesquisa se caracterizou por meio de: pesquisa bibliográfica e documental; pesquisa de campo; análise dos dados e informações; e, por fim, redação do trabalho. Constatou-se que a área em análise sofreu uma série de mudanças em sua paisagem, em função da implantação do “Atacado Baratão”, o qual faz parte rede local de vendas no atacado e no varejo

Structural Blocks as Flood Control in Brazilian Pantanal

The Pantanal basin formation and evolution are not well known and explained. This work brings new information showing the structural control over the physical environment of the Pantanal, one of the most important regions all around the world due to its biodiversity. We used different data sets from remote sensing data, the first set is a corrected SRTM (shuttle radar topographic mission) altimetric data and the second is a map of the major lineaments of Pantanal extracted from photointerpretation of satellite images. Both sets were confronted with the official borderlines of Pantanal and to other two limits defined by phytogeography and remote sensing images. It is possible to show that there is a good match between the internal limits of Pantanal and the interpreted lineaments. The altitudes decrease from N to S and from E to W and the slope analysis shows that this declivity is not homogeneous on these directions. The height difference between adjacent blocks is about 3 or 4 meters. Moreover, different regions have different mean altitudes and slope, although the slope inside each block is homogeneous. Considering Pantanal as a Cenozoic active basin, this paper proposes that the neotectonic controls these blocks and so the water flow in the basin, which in turn controls the fauna and flora of the region

Horizontal subsurface flow constructed wetlands for mitigation of ametryn-contaminated water

The feasibility of using constructed wetlands (CWs) for the mitigation of pesticide runoff has been studied in the last decade. However, a lack of related data was verified when subsurface flow constructed wetlands (SSF CWs) are considered for this purpose. In the present work, SSF CWs were submitted to continuous ametryn addition and evaluated during an I I-week period, with the aim of determining the feasibility of these systems for mitigation of contaminated water. Ametryn was not added to one CW cell in order to provide a control for the experiments. Monitoring of treatment performance was executed by standard water quality parameters, ametryn chromatography quantification and macrophyte (Typha latifolia L) nutritional and agronomic property analysis. Results indicated that 39% of the total initially added amount of ametryn was removed, transferred or transformed. Herbicide metabolism and mineralisation were carried out by chemical and biological mechanisms. No statistic differences were observed in nutritional contents found in the T. latifolia crops of the CWs after the experimental period. Moreover, the biomass production (one valuable source of renewable energy) was equal to 3.3 t.ha(-1) (dry matter) in wetland cells. It was concluded that constructed wetland systems are capable of mitigating water contaminated with ametryn, acting as buffer filters between the emission sources and the downstream superficial water bodies

Promoção do Ensino de Programação e Robótica a Estudantes de Escolas da Rede Pública de Ensino na Cidade de Divinópolis-MG

Este artigo aborda o desenvolvimento de um projeto de ensino de programação e robótica a estudantes da rede pública de ensino na cidade de Divinópolis - MG. Nele, alunos dos 8o e 9o anos do Ensino Fundamental são incentivados a criar programas de computador e robôs autônomos, o que estimula, respectivamente, a criatividade e o pensamento lógico-aritmético desenvolvidos durante a programação dos computadores e a montagem dos robôs. Dessa maneira, acredita-se que esses adolescentes, ao serem expostos a conhecimentos extracurriculares da área de Informática, possam ampliar sua capacidade cognitiva de abstração e pensamento lógico prematuramente, o que afetaria positivamente seu rendimento escolar em componentes curriculares Exatos

Ferramenta computacional aplicada ao pré-dimensionamento de estações de tratamento de esgoto por sistema australiano

Estações de tratamento de esgoto são fundamentais para a melhoria da qualidade dos efluentes, da disponibilidade hídrica e, sobretudo, da preservação dos corpos d'água. São diversas as tecnologias empregadas no âmbito da engenharia, por exemplo, em regiões tropicais, têm-se as lagoas de estabilização e suas variantes. Vale ressaltar que, essas variações dependem de diversos fatores de projeto associados à simplicidade operacional, à eficiência na remoção de poluentes, à segurança, à saúde e ao meio ambiente, bem como à economia. Neste sentido, na busca de uma alternativa que viabilize economia e eficiência às lagoas de estabilização, o sistema australiano é uma opção bastante difundida. Tal sistema é composto por tratamento preliminar (gradeamento e caixa de areia), sendo caracterizado por ligação em série de lagoa anaeróbia e lagoa facultativa em seu fluxograma de tratamento, à jusante do corpo receptor de esgoto tratado. Diante desse contexto, o presente artigo objetiva implementar uma ferramenta computacional destinada ao pré-dimensionamento das unidades de uma estação de tratamento de esgoto em sistema australiano, a fim de auxiliar no ensino didático de componentes curriculares relacionados ao saneamento e no desenvolvimento de projetos técnicos. Para tanto, o software foi implementado com a biblioteca React e com a linguagem TypeScript no desenvolvimento do front-end de código aberto, associados a elementos fundamentais para construção de sites como HTML, CSS e JavaScript.
