Anatomy of nuclear shape transition in the relativistic mean field theory

    Get PDF
A detailed microscopic study of the temperature dependence of the shapes of some rare-earth nuclei is made in the relativistic mean field theory. Analyses of the thermal evolution of the single-particle orbitals and their occupancies leading to the collapse of the deformation are presented. The role of the non-linear σ\sigma-field on the shape transition in different nuclei is also investigated; in its absence the shape transition is found to be sharper.Comment: REVTEX file (13pages), 12 figures, Phys. No full text
Systematic study was carried out to characterize the effects of Argon ion plasma on nanocomposite polymer membrane. Nanoparticles of cobalt (Co) are synthesized by chemical root. 20 micron nanocomposite polymeric membranes were prepared using solution casting and spin coating method. Argon ion plasma treatment was done for these membranes. These membranes were characterized before and after plasma treatment to make comparative study by different technique such as optical microscopy, SEM-scanning electron microscope, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Results show that plasma treatment is a quite effective tool for improving surface and chemical properties of composite membranes with unique characteristics. BACKGROUND: The Global Anticoagulant Registry in the FIELD-Atrial Fibrillation (GARFIELD-AF) is an ongoing prospective noninterventional registry, which is providing important information on the baseline characteristics, treatment patterns, and 1-year outcomes in patients with newly diagnosed non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF). This report describes data from Indian patients recruited in this registry. METHODS AND RESULTS: A total of 52,014 patients with newly diagnosed AF were enrolled globally; of these, 1388 patients were recruited from 26 sites within India (2012-2016). In India, the mean age was 65.8 years at diagnosis of NVAF. Hypertension was the most prevalent risk factor for AF, present in 68.5% of patients from India and in 76.3% of patients globally (P < 0.001). Diabetes and coronary artery disease (CAD) were prevalent in 36.2% and 28.1% of patients as compared with global prevalence of 22.2% and 21.6%, respectively (P < 0.001 for both). Antiplatelet therapy was the most common antithrombotic treatment in India. With increasing stroke risk, however, patients were more likely to receive oral anticoagulant therapy [mainly vitamin K antagonist (VKA)], but average international normalized ratio (INR) was lower among Indian patients [median INR value 1.6 (interquartile range {IQR}: 1.3-2.3) versus 2.3 (IQR 1.8-2.8) (P < 0.001)]. Compared with other countries, patients from India had markedly higher rates of all-cause mortality [7.68 per 100 person-years (95% confidence interval 6.32-9.35) vs 4.34 (4.16-4.53), P < 0.0001], while rates of stroke/systemic embolism and major bleeding were lower after 1 year of follow-up. CONCLUSION: Compared to previously published registries from India, the GARFIELD-AF registry describes clinical profiles and outcomes in Indian patients with AF of a different etiology. The registry data show that compared to the rest of the world, Indian AF patients are younger in age and have more diabetes and CAD. Patients with a higher stroke risk are more likely to receive anticoagulation therapy with VKA but are underdosed compared with the global average in the GARFIELD-AF. Erythromycin fermentation using Sacchropolyspora erythraea with cotton seed meal as nitrogen source

    No full text
Batch culture experiments were carried out for erythromycin fermentation by S. erythraea (wild and type strains) using various nitrogen sources in fermentation medium, keeping other parameters same. Growth and erythromycin production profiles of the strains were studied. Batch and scale up experiments show that erythromycin fermentation by the strains in cotton seed medium gives higher yield compared to other media. The developed cotton seed medium is economical, gives better yield and good alternative for the production of erythromycin

PHYSICAL MODELLING OF TERRAIN DIRECTLY FROM SURFER GRID AND ARC/INFO ASCII DATA FORMATS#

ENGLISH ABSTRACT: Additive manufacturing technology is used to make physical models of terrain using GIS surface data. Attempts have been made to understand several other GIS file formats, such as the Surfer grid and the ARC/INFO ASCII grid. The surface of the terrain in these file formats has been converted into an STL file format that is suitable for additive manufacturing. The STL surface is converted into a 3D model by making the walls and the base. In this paper, the terrain modelling work has been extended to several other widely-used GIS file formats. Terrain models can be created in less time and at less cost, and intricate geometries of terrain can be created with ease and great accuracy.
