Possibility of linearly rising total cross sections in ln s

    No full text
The increase of the pp and K/sup +/p total cross sections has been discovered at CERN and Serpukhov respectively. As for pi /sup +or-/p scattering, no trace of the growth of total cross sections is yet observed. However, from the standpoint of the dual absorption model, which works well for the forward elastic scattering of pi /sup +or-/p and K/sup +or-/p at p/sub L/<or approximately=20 GeV/c, it is expected that the 'diffractive' part of the pi /sup +or-/p total cross sections also increases with energy. These increments of the pp, K/sup +/p and pi /sup +or-/p total cross sections may have a common physical origin. (11 refs)

In this paper we present a study of a Phase Change Material type Perovskite Layerwhich have solid-solid transitions and thermal properties suitable for Thermal EnergyStorage. Structural study shows that organic chain in this organic-inorganic compoundpresents “trans” and “gauche” conformations due to the acid function. DSC studyshows three transitions with the increasing of temperature due to the change ofconformations in the organic chain.PCM, TES, Perovskite Layer, phase transitions, conformations, DSC

Water-mediated synthesis of disubstituted 5-aminopyrimidines from vinyl azides under microwave irradiation

An efficient and ecofriendly method for the synthesis of disubstituted 5-aminopyrimidines from vinyl azides and urea or thiourea was developed. This reaction proceeds under microwave irradiation conditions in the presence of water as a solvent. The remarkable features of this new protocol are high conversion, short reaction times, cleaner reaction profiles and straightforward procedure

A simple and eco-friendly microwave mediated route the synthesis of novel antimicrobial substituted quinoline-2-thiones

An eco-friendly and efficient method was developed for the preparation of a new series of sulfur-containing quinolinthiones. Compounds 6a–o were synthesized from 4-methyl-2-thiocoumarin and arylhydrazides using water as a solvent under microwave irradiation. Some noteworthy features of our novel method are its cleanliness, short reaction time and high conversion rate, and the reaction proceeds (profiles) using a simple procedure. All of the prepared compounds were screened for their antibacterial efficacy in vitro using the disc diffusion method against bacterial strains. Compound (6j) showed the greatest potency with a 16 and 19 mm inhibition zone against Klebsiella pneumonia and Staphylococcus aureus, respectively

Benchmark experiments at the TRIGA Mark II reactor

International audienceThe benchmark experiments performed in an operating research reactor cannot achieve the same level of accuracy as benchmarks in dedicated facilities that are specifically designed for such a purpose. However research reactors offer a great opportunity for benchmark experiments when designed and performed with great caution and accuracy. The paper describes a series of experiments performed at the JSI TRIGA reactor that can serve as benchmark experiments for testing computer codes and nuclear data. The experiments described are criticality, Au (n,g) and Al (n,a) reaction rates in irradiation channels, absolute and relative Au (n,g), 235^{235}U (n,f) 238^{238}U(n,f) reaction rates in the core, burnup, control rod worth, isothermal reactivity coefficient, self-shielding. Some of the experiments have already been evaluated and are available to worldwide community, while the others are yet to be evaluated

X-ray diffraction investigation of a spin crossover hysteresis loop

The nature and the mechanism of the magnetic hysteresis for the thermal spin crossover exhibited by an iron (II) compound is investigated by means of variable-temperature powder and single-crystal x-ray diffraction. The unit cell temperature dependence clearly evidences the amplitude of the strong structural rearrangement that accompanies the spin crossover—corresponding to a variation of 8.6% for one of the unit cell parameters—as well as the structural hysteresis width..
