Paradigm of a New Type of Engineer Training in Earth Sciences

This paper attempts to define key trends observed in new-generation mining engineer training today. A comparative analysis, which looked at recent developments in teaching concerned with innovative technology and transformation of scientific knowledge in general, indicates the need for a new educational paradigm. Actual interaction between humans and their environment was taken as a hypothesis about professional knowledge and skills. The role of the axiological components of the new paradigm was revealed in the light of the communication nature of the society. A methodology was developed to build a new-generation engineer model. The paper reveals the role of a learner's metacognitive ability in the development of new teaching techniques. The paper highlights how important it is that an engineer was striving for environmentally friendly technology. The authors defined the effect of the altered environment on engineering. The paper substantiates why one can only be said to have hard and soft skills if one is able to apply critical and creative thinking. It was found that training an engineer under the new paradigm is inevitably related to the ability to reflect. Analysis of the linguistic modality serves to support this statement. © 2021 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd

The problem of identifying and ranking sedimentation, facies associations and their constituent parts - lithogenetic types of sedimentary rocks was considered. As a basis for paleo-sedimentary modelling, the author has developed a classification for terrigenous natural reservoirs, that for the first time links separate sedimentological units into a single hierarchical system. Hierarchy ranking levels are based on a compilation of global knowledge and experience in sediment geology, sedimentological study and systematization, and data from deep-well coresrepresentingJurassichydrocarbon-bearing formationsof the southeastern margin of the Western Siberian sedimentary basin

Technosphere Thinking in the Transformations of Earth Sciences

The paper focuses on identifying factors of influence of technosphere consciousness on the state of Earth sciences. The comparative analysis of current philosophical and scientific advances showed changes in a status of technosphere consciousness in culture. The authors formulated a hypothesis on a fusion of scientific rationality of Earth sciences with an axiological area of culture. A special methodology was developed to trace and demonstrate a determination influence of technosphere consciousness on the logic of development of Earth sciences and the state of communication processes in society. The authors described consequences of risks occurred as a result of strengthening the independence of technosphere consciousness and modeled opportunities of their minimization. It was proved that in the information communication society technosphere consciousness could form a new paradigm foundation for Earth sciences. The authors described a special character of the correlation between the state of technosphere consciousness, a level of development of technosphere and the status of Earth sciences. They determined key areas for negative consequences of blurring semantics of technosphere consciousness. © 2021 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd

Christian Discourse in the Tragedy Comedy by Feofan Prokopovich “Vladimir”

The central work of art by the outstanding Russian thinker of the early 18th century, philosopher, theologian and writer, associate of Peter I is examined in the article. The novelty of the study is that until now, religious discourse has not been subjected to systemic analysis. The relevance of the study is determined by the need to comprehend Christian motives and reminiscences, as well as the Gospel text as part of the play. Various plot situations are brought into consideration, giving the author the opportunity to show that in the comparison of two worldviews the opposite of their axiological systems is revealed. It is established that the opposition “Christianity / paganism”, which forms the basis of the artistic conflict, correlates in the play with the oppositions “life / death”, “truth / falsehood”, “spiritual / material”, “heavenly / earthly”, “salvation / death”. It has been proven that an important place is given to the play of Christian anthropology, as evidenced by the presentation of the biblical story of the expulsion of the first people from paradise, as well as the depiction of a difficult spiritual struggle that the protagonist experiences when deciding on a change of faith. A systematic analysis leads the author to the conclusion that the play uses the compositional principle that was used in the ancient fine arts and received in the works of Fr. Pavel Florensky called “reverse perspective”

This paper explores the dynamics of changing perceptions of Russia by Japanese young generation. The aim of the paper is to examine attitude toward Russia among young Japanese people, and to investigate factors that affect their “distant neighbor” perceptions and attitudes, and how it has changed within five years. As relations between Japan and Russia grow more complex, the need for more knowledge for mutual understanding is getting great. It is based on a series of more detailed data analyses of the polls conducted at the Universities of Japan - as a part of research project “Student’s Representations of neighboring countries at the beginning of 21st century - Russia and Japan”. In the research author turned to a student’s audience, which is most perspective for acting with, on the way of creation of public opinion about foreign countries as well. Author address findings that obtained in 2007 and 2012 and use qualitative research methods, such as interviewing and discourse analysis. So, we provide an overview of findings from representative surveys and analyze findings from studies to draw conclusions about the drivers of changing public perceptions towards Russia. Presented research is an illustrative explanation - stereotyped images are long-lasting and durable. They are difficult to change and can be passed on as heritage from the past. Author concludes that although in general at the level of the University students’ perceptions towards Russia have not been changed, but in details we can see some quantitative changes. The results indicated that some Japanese students held quite optimistic opinions toward Russia, but there was also evidence that public opinions toward Russia differed across the students and sometimes not in positive way
