    Este trabajo compara tres grupos de practicantes deportivos (deportistas de alto nivel, estudiantes de Educación Física y una muestra general de usuarios de instalaciones), en una serie de variables relacionadas con las actitudes ante la práctica deportiva y conductas de práctica y uso de instalaciones. Existen diferencias significativas (evaluadas a través de tablas de contingencias y pruebas chi-cuadrado) entre los tres grupos. Se observa que en líneas generales los deportistas de alto nivel y estudiantes de Educación Física presentan, en comparación con los usuarios generales, un mayor interés por la práctica deportiva, un mayor nivel de asociacionismo deportivo (a clubes y federaciones deportivas), una mayor frecuencia de práctica y de uso de instalaciones, unos horarios de utilización de instalaciones diferentes, distintas razones de práctica deportiva y de elección de instalaciones, mayores costes temporales de utilización, si bien los costes económicos son mayores entre los practicantes de la muestrageneral que en las muestras de deportistas cualificados y diferentes niveles de satisfacciónThis paper compares three groups of athlets (high-performance athlets, Physical Education students and users of sport facilities extracted from a representative sample of people from 15 to 50 yearsold) in some variables related with attitudes and behaviors of sport practice.     Una de las penurias más grandes que azotaron y asolaron la vida de los españoles fue la Guerra Civil (1936-1939), que dejó tras de sí un país en la pobreza y con un derrumbamiento general del tejido económico, social, cultural y deportivo conseguido durante los primeros años del siglo XX. El final del conflicto bélico y la imposición del régimen franquista supusieron una reordenación social desde la que se controlaba cada uno de los movimientos que hacían los españoles en todos los ámbitos de su vida. Es en ese momento cuando surgieron las organizaciones del Frente de Juventudes para chicos y la Sección Femenina para chicas, desde las cuales se pretendía formar y adoctrinar a los jóvenes bajo los ideales del régimen. En ese momento, las actividades deportivas volvieron a ser impulsadas con fuerza en la vida española, puesto que comportaban una de las vertientes formativas y de interés planteadas desde las diferentes organizaciones juveniles.Artículo revisado por pare

    The role of passion in the quality-value-satisfaction-intentions chain: linear models and the QCA approach for athletes

    The aim of this research is to determine the role of passion on future intentions, perceived value, and athletes’satisfaction in relation to participatory sport events by combining two methodological approaches: linear models and qualitative comparative analysis (QCA). A sample of participatory sporting event athletes (n¼302) was analysed. The results suggest that there is a direct effect of harmonic passion (HP) on future intentions (FI), value (PV) and satisfaction (AS) and a direct effect of obsessive passion (OP) on satisfaction. Considering the indirect effects, both interactions were significant for the effect of perceived quality (PQ) and perceived value on satisfaction. In addition, there also seems to be a moderating effect of harmonic passion on the relationship of service quality and perceived value on future intentions. Studying the necessary conditions test, none of the conditions seem to be a necessary condition of future intentions. On the other hand, considering sufficient analysis, three sufficiency condition combinations explain 87% of FI. The findings contribute to the prediction of the sport consumer decision-making process and to the understanding of how certain intrinsic variables of customers (passion) relate to service evaluations and can affect consumer assessments of overall perception of the sporting event performanc

    Residents' perceptions of the economic impact of sports tourism. Differences according to the geographical location of the town

    Sports tourism has become a major tourist draw in recent decades. People are increasingly in favour of hosting such activities, given the many benefits it can bring to the community. The economic impact of such events is known but not the perceptions that residents have about this type of impact. Researchers also highlight the differences that the populations may have according to the geographical area where they are located and their influence on sports tourism activities. Therefore, the aim of the study is to investigate residents' perceptions of the economic impact of sports tourism according to the population of residence, differentiating between rural, urban and coastal populations. A total of 647 residents of Gran Canaria (Spain) completed a survey that analysed the residents' perceptions of the economic impact of sports tourism in the area. The results of this study indicate that residents have a high regard for the impacts associated with sports tourism and that perceptions do not vary greatly, depending on the population of residence of the respondents, as well as age and sex. Institutions responsible for planning and managing the sports tourism sector should pay attention to any relevant information provided, including residents' perceptions, to provide a better service to the sector.Ciencias de la Actividad Física y del Deport

    Percepción social de la importancia, el impacto y los beneficios esperados de la celebración de los Juegos Mediterráneos de Tarragona en 2017

    The purpose of this study was to analyse the evolution between 2009 and 2010 of residents of Tarragona's perceptions of the importance, impact and expected benefits of hosting the 2017 Mediterranean Games in Tarragona. A questionnaire was administered to two random samples of residents of Tarragona one year apart. The results showed high percentages of people who felt that this sporting event is either quite important or very important from an economic, social and sporting perspective and that it also has a high local and regional impact, albeit not so much at a national or international level. The residents felt that hosting the Mediterranean Games in Tarragona would be quite a benefit to almost all areas that are influential in a city's development (infrastructure, tourism, the economy, employment, sports and sports facilities), in addition to the advantages for political groups, athletes, and the organizing committee. The evolution of the two samples was negative for most aspects included in the survey. Lower means and percentages were observed in the 'quite' and 'a lot' categories for the 2010 sample. The results of this study are useful for events organizers in developing strategies to improve citizens' involvement, participation and identification with events.La finalidad de este estudio fue analizar la evolución entre los años 2009 y 2010 en la percepción de los tarraconenses sobre el grado de importancia, el impacto y los beneficios esperados de la celebración de los Juegos Mediterráneos de Tarragona en 2017. Se recogieron dos muestras de ciudadanos con un año de diferencia. Los resultados mostraron porcentajes elevados de personas que consideraban que este evento deportivo tiene bastante o mucha importancia económica, social y deportiva, así como una elevada repercusión a nivel local y autonómico, aunque no tan relevante a nivel estatal e internacional. Los tarraconenses consideraron que casi todas las áreas o sectores que influyen en el desarrollo de la ciudad (infraestructuras, turismo, economía, ocupación, práctica deportiva e instalaciones deportivas), los grupos políticos, los deportistas y el comité organizador se beneficiarían bastante o mucho de la celebración de los Juegos Mediterráneos en su ciudad. Asimismo la evolución entre las dos muestras fue negativa para la mayoría de aspectos consultados, observándose medias y porcentajes inferiores en las categorías de bastante y mucho para la muestra de 2010. Los resultados de este estudio son útiles a los organizadores del evento para desarrollar estrategias que permitan mejorar la implicación, participación e identificación de los ciudadanos con el evento.A finalidade deste estudo foi analisar a evolução entre os anos 2009 e 2010 na percepção dos tarraconenses sobre o grau de importância, impacto e benefícios expectáveis da celebração dos Jogos Mediterrâneos de Tarragona em 2017. Os tarraconenses consideraram quase todas as áreas ou sectores que influem no desenvolvimento da cidade (infraestruturas, turismo, economia, ocupação, prática desportiva e instalações desportivas), os grupos políticos, os desportistas e o comité organizador beneficiariam bastante ou muito da celebração dos Jogos Mediterrâneos na sua cidade.     Interculturalidad e inclusión en educación física: innovación educativa Erasmus in Schools

    Se describe la propuesta de innovación educativa Erasmus in Schools realizada en las clases de Educación Física y Lengua Extranjera: Inglés. a través de una unidad didáctica de 12 sesiones para dos grupos de 4º de la ESO. El objetivo principal de la innovación, fue mejorar la convivencia escolar en las aulas y lograr la inclusión del alumnado inmigrado. Para ello, la innovación educativa siguió la tipología de distribución del alumnado conocida como 'inclusion', que incorpora la participación de otros miembros de la comunidad educativa en las clases. Así, estudiantes con beca Erasmus+ y voluntarios de la asociación Erasmus Student Network, compartieron su diversidad y experiencias con los estudiantes locales, incorporándose durante las clases al equipo docente. Los resultados indican un aumento de la participación y motivación de todo el alumnado en las clases de EF. Se percibió una disminución de los conflictos relacionados con el origen étnico y el género de los alumnos. Los erasmus que participaron en esta experiencia, se sintieron más incluidos en la sociedad de acogida. Se concluye que la puesta en práctica de la innovación educativa Erasmus in Schools, favorece la inclusión del alumnado inmigrado en las clases de EF. Abstract: It is described the educative innovation proposal Erasmus in Schools, which took place during the Physical Education and Foreign Language: English, lessons, through a didactic unit of 12 sessions for two groups of 4rth grade of a Spanish Secondary School. The main goal was to improve the coexistence and to achieve the inclusion of the foreign students. To do so, the educative innovation was based on a type of distribution named 'inclusion', which includes the participation of other members of the educative community in the classes. Thus, students with the Erasmus+ scholarship and volunteers of the Erasmus Student Network association shared their cultural diversity and experiences with the local students, involving themselves to the teaching team during the lessons. The results show a growth of the participation and motivation of all the students during the Physical Education lessons. Furthermore, it was perceived a decrease of the conflicts related with the ethnic origin and gender of the students. The Erasmus students that participated in this experience felt themselves more included into the host society. It is concluded that the implementation of the educative innovation Erasmus in Schools fosters the inclusion of the foreign students during the Physical Education classes

    Development and preliminary validation of Social Media as an Educational and Professional Tool Student Perceptions Scale (SMEPTSPS).

    Although social media has an increasing presence both in university and sports settings, in the sports-management education context, no instruments (without being focused on one particular social-media platform, e.g., Facebook and Twitter) have been developed and validated that globally allow the academy to explore the perceptions of sports-management students concerning the educational and professional learning potential that these tools offer. Therefore, this research's main objective is to develop and perform a preliminary validation of the social media as an educational and professional tool student perceptions scale (SMEPT-SPS). This study sample was composed of 90 Spanish undergraduate sports-management students (M = 22.56; SD = 3.55). A multigroup confirmatory factor analysis was performed to examine the psychometric properties of the SMEPTSPS. The statistical analysis reflects the scale's three-dimensional nature, explaining 67.87% of the variance and presents adequate psychometric properties (α = 0.87). Nevertheless, further validity and reliability analysis are required to confirm these initial findings with a larger and more representative sample. Considering the foregoing limitation, this research contributes to the literature by providing a new instrument, the SMEPT-SPS, that could help sports-management faculty expand the scope and understanding of social media's educational and professional potentia

    Conceptualización de los medios sociales: oportunidades para la gestión del deporte

    Resumen Los medios sociales son un fenómeno que está cambiando la forma en la que las personas nos comunicamos y relacionamos, con muchos millones de usuarios en todo el mundo. En el contexto de la gestión del deporte, los medios sociales están desempeñando actualmente un papel cada vez más relevante en el día a día de clubes, atletas, federaciones, empresas, investigadores, etc. Sin embargo, los estudios realizados hasta el momento sobre medios sociales indican que hay una falta de consenso teórico respecto al término, confundiéndolo en muchas ocasiones con el significado de otros conceptos vinculados a los mismos, algo que puede estar limitando el desarrollo de todo el potencial que tienen. Así, en este trabajo se presenta una propuesta conceptual para clarificar el concepto 'medios sociales', que pueda ser una base para la realización de futuros estudios que ayuden a los profesionales del campo de la gestión del deporte a aprovechar todas las oportunidades que los medios sociales ofrecen en los distintos ámbitos de la gestión. Abstract. Social Media is a phenomenon that is changing the way that people communicate and relate among others, with many millions of users around the world. In the context of Sport Management, Social Media currently is playing a role increasingly more relevant in the day to day of clubs, athletes, federations, companies, researchers, etc. Nevertheless, the studies done in the past to the present about Social Media suggest that there is a lack of theoretical consensus regarding the term, confusing it many times with the meaning of other concepts related to them, something that could be limiting the developmental potential that it has. Thus, in this work it is presented one conceptual proposal to clarify the concept 'Social Media' that could become a point of study for of future studies that help professionals in the Sport Management field to take advantage of the opportunities that Social Media offers in the different areas of management

    El campo académico de la Gestión del Deporte:pasado, presente y futuro

    The industry of sport currently has a big impact on our society, in areas as diverse as economics, mass media, health or politics. As a result of this new trend, a specific academic field, identified as ‘Sport Management’ has emerged in the past years. A study field that appears to have experienced a substantive growth over a short period of time. This paper has conducted a review on the relevant aspects that have shaped the identity of Sport Management as an academic field. For that purpose, documentary sources have been used as reference with a main focus in those produced by relevant authors of the Sport Management field, granting special attention to the theoretical construction of the field, its main academic journals, topics and research trends. The final reflections of this investigation show the main developments on this academic field, as well the broad opportunities that the Sport Management investigation field offers to develop an academic and/or professional career and to look into the future with optimism, as there is still a wide range of investigation areas to explore/develop under this theme.La industria del deporte tiene actualmente una gran repercusión e impacto en nuestra sociedad, en áreas tan diversas como la de la economía, los medios de comuni-cación, la salud o la política. Dada esta importancia, con el paso de los años se ha ido generando un campo aca-démico específico propio de la gestión del deporte. Un área de estudios que ha vivido un gran crecimiento en un corto período de tiempo. En este trabajo se realiza una revisión de aspectos relevantes que han ido confi-gurando la identidad de la gestión del deporte como campo académico específico. Para ello, se ha recurrido a fuentes documentales de los autores más destacados del área de la gestión del deporte, poniendo especial aten-ción a la construcción teórica del campo, sus principales revistas académicas y los principales temas y tendencias de las investigaciones. Las reflexiones finales del trabajo reflejan los principales avances que se han producido en este campo de estudio, así como las grandes oportuni-dades que actualmente genera la gestión del deporte para desarrollar una carrera académica y/o profesional y mirar con optimismo al futuro, donde sigue habiendo un gran espacio para su crecimiento.Actividad Física y Deport
