Carnivorous plants use in the teaching of scientific disciplines

[Resumen] Diversos autores han defendido la necesidad de reformar el trabajo práctico tal y como se lleva a cabo en las aulas de la Enseñanza Secundaria, cuya eficacia ha sido discutida en numerosos estudios. Siguiendo esa idea, y de acuerdo con la diversa normativa académica en vigor, se diseñan y evalúan 5 actividades prácticas en las que se trabaja con plantas carnívoras. Los objetivos de las actividades planteadas serán, por un lado, servir de complemento a diversos contenidos teóricos del curriculum de la Enseñanza Secundaria, principalmente relacionados con la fisiología y las funciones de relación de las plantas. Por otro lado, se pretende generar materiales basados en la biología vegetal que puedan resultar de interés para el alumnado, contribuyendo a paliar la llamada ceguera vegetal entre los estudiantes. Las actividades diseñadas emplean ejemplares vivos de las especies Drosera aliciae y Dionaea muscipula con lo que se pretende favorecer los aspectos afectivos del aprendizaje. En líneas generales, las prácticas presentan ámbitos de aplicación y sistemas de evaluación concretos y se basan en una visión amplia del método científico. Para cada una de las actividades se discuten las posibles dificultades en su aplicación y posibles modificaciones en el procedimiento.[Abstract] Several authors have indicated the need for a reappraisal of the laboratory work in secondary school science courses, whose efficiency has been questioned. Following this idea, we have designed and tested five practical activities based on carnivorous plants. The aims of these activities are: (i) to enhance the learning process of the students, acting as a complement to the theoretical contents included in the syllabus, especially regarding physiology and plant ecology. In addition to this, (ii) we aim at generating new materials focused on plant biology that are interesting to the students and that might be part of the solution against plant blindness. The activities require the use of living specimens of Drosera aliciae and Dionaea muscipula. Using living plants in experiments has been deemed to be useful in enhancing the affective aspects of learning. Generally speaking, these activities have specific application contexts and evaluation systems. Besides, they are based on a wide view of the scientific method. Al ubicarnos en el área de Deporte, percibimos que es un campo fértil para el desarrollo, transmisión y fomento de valores; esto puede transferirse a multitud de ámbitos de la vida. Nuestra comunicación tiene como principal objetivo innovar en los procesos de transmisión de valores y aportar sugerencias sobre la práctica deportiva y su intervención. En definitiva es hacer que el entrenador o profesor participe y consciente de este situación.As we analyze the sports area, we notice that it is in fact a productive field for the development, transmission and promotion of values; which can be transferred to a great amount of spheres in life. Our communication has as the main aim to innovate within the values transmission processes, and to provide suggestions about sport practice, and its intervention. L2 acquisition of Spanish dative clitics by English and Dutch learners

This article examines the second language acquisition (SLA) of Spanish dative clitics in clitic doubling (CLD) structures that are closely related to the double object construction (DOC) in English and Dutch. It also addresses the question of how adult English and Dutch speakers learning L2 Spanish in a formal setting develop knowledge and use of the animacy constraint in the target language, which is different from the first language (L1) counterparts. The role of transfer in acquiring new syntactic structures has been taken into account, where dative clitics appear and animate objects are marked by the dative preposition ‘to.’ New findings are obtained on CLD and the Spanish animacy constraint from a grammaticality judgement task (GJT), completed by English and Dutch learners at B1 and B2 CEFR levels. The difficulties learners experienced were not always due to negative L1 transfer, but also related to the complexity of the argument structure where the clitic is inserted. This has clear implications for the teaching of pronominal elements which are closely related to different syntactic configurations in Spanish

Visual procedures in the hermeneutic theory of Wolfgang Iser

Los presupuestos históricos de W. Iser ponen de manifiesto la profunda relación existente entre lo visible y lo inteligible a la hora de llevar a cabo la actividad hermenéutica. Sin embargo, los estudiosos, que enseguida advirtieron la huella de la fenomenología husserliana en el teórico de Constanza, apenas han prestado atención al sustrato gestaltista que también está presente en su obra. Desarrollar estos postulados que animan la hermenéutica de Iser e ilustrarlos en algunos textos literarios es el objetivo de este trabajo.The theoretical assumptions of W. Iser clearly demonstrate the profound relationship between what is visible and what is intelligible when Hermeneutics comes into action. However, scholars «who quickly noticed the trace of husserlian phenomenology in the work of the theoretician from Constanza» have hardly paid attention to the gestaltist substratum that can also be observed in his work. The objective of this contribution will be to develop these principles present in Iser’s Hermeneutics and to exemplify them in some literary texts

La influencia oriental en "El diván del Tamarit" de Lorca

Se analiza la obra poética "El Diván del Tamarit" de Federico García Lorca, colección de poemas en los que el poeta rinde homenaje a los poetas árabes de Granada, siguiendo las influencias árabes, andaluzas e incluso persas en los poemas al estilo del llamado gazal. Especial atención se presta a la estructura, tema e imagen en la obra de Lorca, brindando puntos claros de convergencia y divergencia con la literatura árabe.This article analyzes the poetic work "El Diván del Tamarit" written by Federico García Lorca. It's a poems collection in what the poet pays tribute to Arab poets of Granada, following the Arabic influences, Andalusian and even Persian poems in the style called Gazal. Special attention is paid to the structure, subject and image in the work of Lorca, providing clear points of convergence and divergence with Arabic literature

El Islam en la vida de la mujer a través de los tiempos

Las autoras abordan el problema de la mujer musulmana a lo largo del tiempo hasta la actualidad, asunto complicado por la heterogeneidad de la población femenina de todos los países de religión musulmana, y por la diferente situación social y política imperante en cada uno de ellos, donde aún hoy conviven estructuras familiares cuasi tribales y patriarcales con otras modernizadas. Mujeres del ámbito rural y mujeres ciudadanas son dos realidades bien distintas. Se puede decir que en la mayoría de los países conviven la tradición y la modernidad. Aún con esta dificultad aparece una nueva mujer musulmana que empezó a emerger con fuerza a mediados del siglo XX en países islámicos como Egipto, Líbano, Turquía, Siria, Túnez o Marruecos e incluso países más integristas y severos en el cumplimiento de los preceptos religiosos como Arabia Saudí o Irán no se ajusta a la imagen estática y sumisa que se les ha atribuido desde la aparición del Islam.The authors raise the problem of Muslim women throughout the centuries up until today, which is indeed a difficult task due to the diversity of the female population in Muslim countries along with their social status and the dominant policy in each of these countries, where nowadays there are still tribal and patriarchal families who coexist with modernized ones. Women from rural areas and women living in cities belong to very different realities. It could be said that in most countries both tradition and modernity live together. Even in such difficulty there comes out the new Muslim woman, the new model that started to come strongly into existence in the mid-XX century in Islamic countries such as Egypt, Lebanon, Turkey, Syria, Tunisia or Morocco, and even in more fundamentalist countries such as Saudi Arabia or Iran.
