    Get PDF
Trust has been recognized as a significant factor in the sharing economy. However, there is still a lack of research that empirically examines the critical antecedents of trust in the ridesharing service, especially in China. Drawing upon Zucker (1986)’s trust building framework, this study develops a theoretical model to examine four antecedents, regarding structural assurance, government support, platform reputation and disposition to trust, on users’ trust beliefs and continuance intention of ridesharing. 307 valid data was collected in one of the largest ridesharing platforms in China, and structural equation modelling method was used to examine the research model. Empirical results suggest that platform reputation is the most significant antecedent of trust, followed by government support, structural assurance and disposition to trust. Specifically, user experience positively moderates the impact of structural assurance on trust, while negatively moderates the influences of government support and platform reputation on trust. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed in the final section

Producción CientíficaThe aim of this work is to offer a better understanding of consumer continued intentions to use mobile devices to shop. An integrated model is developed to identify the drivers that lead m-shoppers to repurchase. Specifically, navigation, safety and ubiquity are posited as stimuli guiding consumers’ affective (satisfaction) and cognitive (trust and convenience) reactions that will, in turn, increase repurchase intention. Results show the impact of ubiquity on m-convenience and safety m-experience on both affective and cognitive reactions. Finally, repurchase intention is explained directly by m-satisfaction and m-convenience and indirectly by m-trust. Consumers’ perception on Islamic home financing: empirical evidences on Bai Bithaman Ajil (BBA) and diminishing partnership (DP) in Malaysia

    Get PDF
The Bai Bithaman Ajil (BBA) or Deferred Installment Sales facility is the most predominant mode of home financing in Malaysia since the introduction of Islamic banking in 1983. It is based on the debt financing where the bank buys the property from the customer and sells it back to the customer inclusive of profit. Customers make repayments at end of each month. This research examines the impact of using the prevailing debt concept which is claimed to have caused high price, customers‟ dissatisfaction, injustice and criticism by international scholars. In order to address these issues an alternative concept known as Musharakah Mutanaqisah or the Diminishing Partnership (DP) is also examined. In DP, bank and customers purchase the house jointly. The bank leases the house to the customers and rental payments are shared between them based on profit sharing ratio. The customer redeems the bank‟s share on monthly basis until full settlement after which the house is transferred to the customer. The study investigates the perceptions of customers between BBA and DP home financing products. A survey questionnaire was conducted on 300 owners and potential house owners to gauge their features and operations. The result of paired t–test indicated significant differences between these two products. DP home financing is a viable alternative to BBA home financing measured from the descriptive results and hypothesis testing. The actual implementation of DP is a challenge for the banks and requires a paradigm shift from their present role as traditional financiers

With the rapid dissemination of mobile technologies, along with hectic life nowadays, consumers are more in favor of food delivery apps (FDA). However, many aspects related to the usage of FDAs have not been fully unearthed. Drawing upon the trust transfer theory, the study theorizes the consumer’s trust formation in FDA and investigates the antecedents of trust to platform and trust to a merchant that mediates the continuous usage intention and purchase intention. The proposed framework was tested through structural equation modeling (SEM) based on an online questionnaire. The findings illustrate the trust transfer mechanism in the context of the FDA and its effects, which have both theoretical and practical implications for different stakeholders
