Hesitant Fuzzy Worth: an innovative ranking methodology for hesitant fuzzy subsets
ProducciĂłn CientĂficaWe introduce a novel methodology for ranking hesitant fuzzy sets. It builds on a recent, theoretically sound contribution in Social Choice. Intertemporal Choice of Fuzzy Soft Sets
This paper first merges two noteworthy aspects of choice. On the one hand, soft sets and fuzzy soft sets are popular models that have been largely applied to decision making problems, such as real estate valuation, medical diagnosis (glaucoma, prostate cancer, etc.), data mining, or international trade. They provide crisp or fuzzy parameterized descriptions of the universe of alternatives. On the other hand, in many decisions, costs and benefits occur at different points in time. This brings about intertemporal choices, which may involve an indefinitely large number of periods. However, the literature does not provide a model, let alone a solution, to the intertemporal problem when the alternatives are described by (fuzzy) parameterizations. In this paper, we propose a novel soft set inspired model that applies to the intertemporal framework, hence it fills an important gap in the development of fuzzy soft set theory. An algorithm allows the selection of the optimal option in intertemporal choice problems with an infinite time horizon. We illustrate its application with a numerical example involving alternative portfolios of projects that a public administration may undertake. This allows us to establish a pioneering intertemporal model of choice in the framework of extended fuzzy set theorie
Aggregation functions for typical hesitant fuzzy elements and the action of automorphisms
This work studies the aggregation operators on the set of all possible membership degrees of typical hesitant fuzzy sets, which we refer to as H, as well as the action of H-automorphisms which are defined over the set of all finite non-empty subsets of the unitary interval. In order to do so, the partial order â€H, based on α-normalization, is introduced, leading to a comparison based on selecting the greatest membership degrees of the related fuzzy sets. Additionally, the idea of interval representation is extended to the context of typical hesitant aggregation functions named as the H-representation. As main contribution, we consider the class of finite hesitant triangular norms, studying their properties and analyzing the H-conjugate functions over such operators. © 2013 Elsevier Inc. A systematic review on multi-criteria group decision-making methods based on weights: analysis and classification scheme
Interest in group decision-making (GDM) has been increasing prominently over the last decade. Access to global databases, sophisticated sensors which can obtain multiple inputs or complex problems requiring opinions from several experts have driven interest in data aggregation. Consequently, the field has been widely studied from several viewpoints and multiple approaches have been proposed. Nevertheless, there is a lack of general framework. Moreover, this problem is exacerbated in the case of expertsâ weighting methods, one of the most widely-used techniques to deal with multiple source aggregation. This lack of general classification scheme, or a guide to assist expert knowledge, leads to ambiguity or misreading for readers, who may be overwhelmed by the large amount of unclassified information currently available. To invert this situation, a general GDM framework is presented which divides and classifies all data aggregation techniques, focusing on and expanding the classification of expertsâ weighting methods in terms of analysis type by carrying out an in-depth literature review. Results are not only classified but analysed and discussed regarding multiple characteristics, such as MCDMs in which they are applied, type of data used, ideal solutions considered or when they are applied. Furthermore, general requirements supplement this analysis such as initial influence, or component division considerations. As a result, this paper provides not only a general classification scheme and a detailed analysis of expertsâ weighting methods but also a road map for researchers working on GDM topics or a guide for experts who use these methods. A contribution to consensus modeling in decision-making by means of linguistic assessments
Decision-making is an active field of research. Specifically, in recent times, a lot of contributions have been presented on decision-making under linguistic assessments. To tackle this kind of processes, hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets have been introduced to grasp the uncertainty inherent in human reasoning when expressing preferences. This thesis introduces an extension of the set of hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets to capture differences between non-compatible assessments. Based on this extension, a distance between linguistic assessments is defined to quantify differences between several opinions. This distance is used in turn to present a representative opinion from a group in a decision-making process. In addition, different consensus measures are introduced to determine the level of agreement or disagreement within a decision-making group and are used to define a decision makerâs profile to keep track of their dissension with respect to the group as well as their level of hesitancy. Furthermore, with the aim of allowing decision makers to choose the linguistic terms that they feel more comfortable with, the concept of free double hierarchy hesitant fuzzy linguistic term set is developed in this thesis. Finally, a new approach of the TOPSIS methodology for processes in which the assessments are given by means of free double hierarchy hesitant fuzzy information is presented to rank alternatives under these circumstances.Postprint (published version
An optimal feedback model to prevent manipulation behaviours in consensus under social network group decision making

group decision making is proposed, which is based on a theoretically
sound optimal feedback model. The manipulation
behaviour classification is twofold: (1) âindividual manipulationâ
where each expert manipulates his/her own behaviour to achieve
higher importance degree (weight); and (2) âgroup manipulationâ
where a group of experts force inconsistent experts to adopt
specific recommendation advices obtained via the use of fixed
feedback parameter. To counteract âindividual manipulationâ, a
behavioural weights assignment method modelling sequential
attitude ranging from âdictatorshipâ to âdemocracyâ is developed,
and then a reasonable policy for group minimum adjustment cost
is established to assign appropriate weights to experts. To prevent
âgroup manipulationâ, an optimal feedback model with objective
function the individual adjustments cost and constraints related
to the threshold of group consensus is investigated. This approach
allows the inconsistent experts to balance group consensus and
adjustment cost, which enhances their willingness to adopt the
recommendation advices and consequently the group reaching
consensus on the decision making problem at hand. A numerical
example is presented to illustrate and verify the proposed optimal
feedback model
Interval-valued 2-tuple hesitant fuzzy linguistic term set and its application in multiple attribute decision making
[EN] The hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets can retain the completeness of linguistic information elicitation by assigning a set of possible linguistic terms to a qualitative variable. However, sometimes experts cannot make sure that the objects attain these possible linguistic terms but only provide the degrees of confidence to express their hesitant cognition. Given that the interval numbers can denote the possible membership degrees that an object belongs to a set, it is suitable and convenient to provide an interval-valued index to measure the degree of a linguistic variable to a given hesitant fuzzy linguistic term set. Inspired by this idea, we introduce the concept of interval-valued 2-tuple hesitant fuzzy linguistic term set (IV2THFLTS) based on the interval number and the hesitant fuzzy linguistic term set. Then, we define some interval-valued 2-tuple hesitant fuzzy linguistic aggregation operators. Afterwards, to overcome the instability of subjective weights, we propose a method to compute the weights of attributes. For the convenience of application, a method is given to solve the multiple attribute decision making problems with IV2THFLTSs. Fuzzy Systems in Business Valuation
This research aims to develop a model that is able to integrate and objectify information provided by
the different business valuation methods, incorporating quality management in its formal approach,
which to date has not been considered in the literature about business valuation or quality
management. Firstly, the company is valued using the methods which best adapt to its specific
characteristics. Because of the subjectivity inherent in any valuation process, the results will be
expressed through Triangular Fuzzy Numbers (TFN). These Fuzzy Numbers will be aggregated and
summarized by applying Basic Defuzzification Distribution Uncertain Probabilistic Ordered
Weighted Averaging operator (BADD-UPOWA). The weighting factors will be: the degree of
confidence in each of the business valuation methods applied, and the innovative use of the
companyâs position on Crosbyâs Quality Administration Grid. The results from application of the
model in a case study show a significant reduction in uncertainty in contrast to the initial valuations.
Moreover, the proposed methodology is seen to increase the final value of the company as its
advances in quality management
An overview of fuzzy multi-criteria decisionmaking methods in hospitality and tourism industries: bibliometrics, methodologies, applications and future directions
Stakeholders in hospitality and tourism industries are involved in
many decision-making scenarios. Multi-criteria decision-making
(MCDM) methods have been widely used in hospitality and tourism
industries. Although some articles summarised the applications of
MCDM models in hospitality and tourism industries, they ignored the
fuzziness of individual cognition in an uncertain environment. In addition,
these surveys lacked a comprehensive overview from the perspective
of bibliometrics analysis and content analysis regarding the
whole hospitality and tourism industries. To analyse the applications
of fuzzy MCDM methods in hospitality and tourism industries and
further explore future research directions, this article reviews 85
selected papers published from 1997 to 2022 regarding fuzzy MCDM
models applied in hospitality and tourism industries. Through analysing
the results of bibliometric analysis, methodologies and applications,
we found that analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and TOPSIS
methods are the most widely used MCDM methods, and tourism
evaluation, hotel evaluation and selection, tourism destination evaluation
and selection are the most attractive research issues in hospitality
and tourism industries. Finally, future research directions are
proposed from three aspects. This article provides insights for
researchers and practitioners who have interest in fuzzy MCDM models
in hospitality and tourism industries
