    nvestment decision making based on the probabilistic hesitant financial data: model and empirical study

    This paper proposes a portfolio selection model from the perspective of probabilistic hesitant financial data (PHFD). PHFD can be interpreted as the new form of information presentation that is obtained by transforming real financial data into probabilistic hesitant fuzzy elements. Based on the above data and model, we can derive the optimal investment ratios and give suggestions for investors. Specifically, this paper first develops a transformation algorithm to transform the general share returns into PHFD. The transformed data can directly show all the returns and their occurrence probabilities. Then, the portfolio selection and risk portfolio selection models based on PHFD, namely the probabilistic hesitant portfolio selection (PHPS) model and the risk probabilistic hesitant portfolio selection (RPHPS) model, are proposed. Furthermore, the investment decision-making methods are provided to show their practical application in financial markets. It is pointed out that the PHPS model for general investors is constructed based on the maximum-score or minimum-deviation principles to get the optimal investment ratios, and the RPHPS model provides the optimal investment ratios for three types of risk investors with the aim of obtaining the maximum return or taking the minimum risk. Finally, an empirical study based on the real data of China’s stock markets is shown in detail. The results verify the effectiveness and practicability of the proposed methods

    Uncertain Multi-Criteria Optimization Problems

    Most real-world search and optimization problems naturally involve multiple criteria as objectives. Generally, symmetry, asymmetry, and anti-symmetry are basic characteristics of binary relationships used when modeling optimization problems. Moreover, the notion of symmetry has appeared in many articles about uncertainty theories that are employed in multi-criteria problems. Different solutions may produce trade-offs (conflicting scenarios) among different objectives. A better solution with respect to one objective may compromise other objectives. There are various factors that need to be considered to address the problems in multidisciplinary research, which is critical for the overall sustainability of human development and activity. In this regard, in recent decades, decision-making theory has been the subject of intense research activities due to its wide applications in different areas. The decision-making theory approach has become an important means to provide real-time solutions to uncertainty problems. Theories such as probability theory, fuzzy set theory, type-2 fuzzy set theory, rough set, and uncertainty theory, available in the existing literature, deal with such uncertainties. Nevertheless, the uncertain multi-criteria characteristics in such problems have not yet been explored in depth, and there is much left to be achieved in this direction. Hence, different mathematical models of real-life multi-criteria optimization problems can be developed in various uncertain frameworks with special emphasis on optimization problems

    A systematic literature review of soft set theory

    [EN] Soft set theory, initially introduced through the seminal article ‘‘Soft set theory—First results’’ in 1999, has gained considerable attention in the field of mathematical modeling and decision-making. Despite its growing prominence, a comprehensive survey of soft set theory, encompassing its foundational concepts, developments, and applications, is notably absent in the existing literature. We aim to bridge this gap. This survey delves into the basic elements of the theory, including the notion of a soft set, the operations on soft sets, and their semantic interpretations. It describes various generalizations and modifications of soft set theory, such as N-soft sets, fuzzy soft sets, and bipolar soft sets, highlighting their specific characteristics. Furthermore, this work outlines the fundamentals of various extensions of mathematical structures from the perspective of soft set theory. Particularly, we present basic results of soft topology and other algebraic structures such as soft algebras and sigma-algebras. This article examines a selection of notable applications of soft set theory in different fields, including medicine and economics, underscoring its versatile nature. The survey concludes with a discussion on the challenges and future directions in soft set theory, emphasizing the need for further research to enhance its theoretical foundations and broaden its practical applications. Overall, this survey of soft set theory serves as a valuable resource for practitioners, researchers, and students interested in understanding and utilizing this flexible mathematical framework for tackling uncertainty in decision-making processes

    Analysis of SOE Banking Stock Investment as Knowledge for Millenial Generation

    The purpose of this study is to analyze the status of state-owned banks in Indonesia and find out which state-owned bank shares are suitable for investment by the younger generation. In addition, it aims to increase knowledge and information about investment and become one of the considerations for the younger generation in choosing a place to invest in state-owned banks. The research method used is descriptive-quantitative, using secondary data as the main material for statistical analysis. The results showed that all state-owned banks were in good condition, the lowest share price was Bank BTN, the highest share price was Bank Mandiri, and the highest profits were Bank Mandiri and Bank BNI. The bank that pays the highest dividend is Bank BRI. The younger generation who are risk averse, want to try investing, and have small capital, are suitable for investing in Bank BTN. If you dare and want big profits, it's better to invest in Bank Mandiri or Bank BNI. But if you want to focus and get big dividends, Bank BRI is the right choice. It cannot be denied that if you want to get big profits, you must be willing to take big risks (High-Risk High Return). Keywords: Investments, stocks, dividends, banks, the millennial generation

    Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Programming Method for Risky Multicriteria Decision-Making with Heterogeneous Relationship

    We propose a new interval type-2 fuzzy (IT2F) programming method for risky multicriteria decision-making (MCDM) problems with IT2F truth degrees, where the criteria exhibit a heterogeneous relationship and decision-makers behave according to bounded rationality. First, we develop a technique to calculate the Banzhaf-based overall perceived utility values of alternatives based on 2-additive fuzzy measures and regret theory. Subsequently, considering pairwise comparisons of alternatives with IT2F truth degrees, we define the Banzhaf-based IT2F risky consistency index (BIT2FRCI) and the Banzhaf-based IT2F risky inconsistency index (BIT2FRII). Next, to identify the optimal weights, an IT2F programming model is established based on the concept that BIT2FRII must be minimized and must not exceed the BIT2FRCI using a fixed IT2F set. Furthermore, we design an effective algorithm using an external archive-based constrained state transition algorithm to solve the established model. Accordingly, the ranking order of alternatives is derived using the Banzhaf-based overall perceived utility values. Experimental studies pertaining to investment selection problems demonstrate the state-of-the-art performance of the proposed method, that is, its strong capability in addressing risky MCDM problems

    New Challenges in Neutrosophic Theory and Applications

    Neutrosophic theory has representatives on all continents and, therefore, it can be said to be a universal theory. On the other hand, according to the three volumes of “The Encyclopedia of Neutrosophic Researchers” (2016, 2018, 2019), plus numerous others not yet included in Encyclopedia book series, about 1200 researchers from 73 countries have applied both the neutrosophic theory and method. Neutrosophic theory was founded by Professor Florentin Smarandache in 1998; it constitutes further generalization of fuzzy and intuitionistic fuzzy theories. The key distinction between the neutrosophic set/logic and other types of sets/logics lies in the introduction of the degree of indeterminacy/neutrality (I) as an independent component in the neutrosophic set. Thus, neutrosophic theory involves the degree of membership-truth (T), the degree of indeterminacy (I), and the degree of non-membership-falsehood (F). In recent years, the field of neutrosophic set, logic, measure, probability and statistics, precalculus and calculus, etc., and their applications in multiple fields have been extended and applied in various fields, such as communication, management, and information technology. We believe that this book serves as useful guidance for learning about the current progress in neutrosophic theories. In total, 22 studies have been presented and reflect the call of the thematic vision. The contents of each study included in the volume are briefly described as follows. The first contribution, authored by Wadei Al-Omeri and Saeid Jafari, addresses the concept of generalized neutrosophic pre-closed sets and generalized neutrosophic pre-open sets in neutrosophic topological spaces. In the article “Design of Fuzzy Sampling Plan Using the Birnbaum-Saunders Distribution”, the authors Muhammad Zahir Khan, Muhammad Farid Khan, Muhammad Aslam, and Abdur Razzaque Mughal discuss the use of probability distribution function of Birnbaum–Saunders distribution as a proportion of defective items and the acceptance probability in a fuzzy environment. Further, the authors Derya Bakbak, Vakkas Uluc¸ay, and Memet S¸ahin present the “Neutrosophic Soft Expert Multiset and Their Application to Multiple Criteria Decision Making” together with several operations defined for them and their important algebraic properties. In “Neutrosophic Multigroups and Applications”, Vakkas Uluc¸ay and Memet S¸ahin propose an algebraic structure on neutrosophic multisets called neutrosophic multigroups, deriving their basic properties and giving some applications to group theory. Changxing Fan, Jun Ye, Sheng Feng, En Fan, and Keli Hu introduce the “Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Method Using Heronian Mean Operators under a Bipolar Neutrosophic Environment” and test the effectiveness of their new methods.
