All in the mind? : psychological, social and religious predictors of civic volunteerism among churchgoers in England

A number of studies have shown links between volunteerism and a range of sociological and religious variables, mostly based on work from the USA. This study of volunteering among 5220 lay Anglicans in England tested the idea that individual differences in personality could predict civic participation even after allowing for the effects of socio-demographic and religious variables on civic participation. Extraversion significantly increased the probability of civic participation, and the number of different areas of activity among those who did participate. Emotional stability (Neuroticism scale) also significantly increased the chances of volunteering, but not the number of areas of activity among participants. Tender- versus tough-mindedness (Psychoticism scale) had no influence on civic participation in what was a generally tender-minded sample. The results suggest that while socio-demographic factors may affect the opportunities for civic participation, personality and theological orientation may affect the propensity of individuals to participate

In urban communities, waste produced by each household as part of everyday life. As soon as that happens on campus UPN "Veteran" East Java. However, the garbage that dominates the campus environment is the dry leaf litter, along with the campus greening program. Dry leaf litter on campus UPN "Veteran" East Java processed as compost which will be used to meet the needs of the entire campus UPN "Veteran" East Java. The purpose of this experiment was to determine the maturity of composted cow manure with the addition of variations in aeration processes manually and mechanically. The material used in this study are rubbish campus UPN "Veteran" East Java and cow dung. The variables used in this study is the sampling time of 0, 14, 21, and 28 days, the oxygen demand and the number of cow dung is used. In this study the tested parameter is N, C, C / N ratio and pH. This study uses a batch system. From these results, the best composting reactor obtained at 8 with the addition of cow manure 8.23 kg and 24 kg of waste campus with mechanical aeration process, and the ratio of C / N 12. While in the process of manually aeration, compost best at reactor 4 with the addition of 8.23 kg of cow dung and 24 kg of waste campus with C / N ratio 16.6. Characterisation of crosstalk defects in submicron CMOS VLSI interconnects

The main problem addressed in this research work is a crosstalk defect, which is defined as an unexpected signal change due to the coupling between signals or power lines. Here its characteristic under 3 proposed models is investigated to find whether such a noise could lead to real logic faults in IC systems. As a result, mathematical analysis for various bus systems was established, with 3 main factors found to determine the amount of crosstalk: i) how the input buffers are sized; ii) the physical arrangements of the tracks; and iii) the number of switching tracks involved. Minimum sizes of the width and separation lead to the highest crosstalk while increasing in the length does not contribute much variation. Higher level of crosstalk is also found in higher metal layers due mainly to the reduced capacitance to the substrate. The crosstalk is at its maximum when the track concerned is the middle track of a bus connected to a weak buffer while the other signal lines are switching. From this information, the worse-case analysis for various bus configurations is proposed for 0.7, 0.5 and 0.35 µ CMOS technologies. For most of conventional logic circuits, a crosstalk as large as about a half of the supply voltage is required if a fault is to occur. For the buffer circuits the level of crosstalk required depends very much on the transition voltage, which is in turn controlled by the sizing of its n and p MOS transistors forming the buffer. It is concluded that in general case if crosstalk can be kept to be no larger that 30% of the supply voltage the circuit can be said to be very reliable and virtually free from crosstalk fault. Finally test structures are suggested so that real measurements can be made to verify the simulation result

La investigación se realizó en la ciudad de Estelí, en el cual participaron los trabajadores del área administrativa, gerente general y propietario de Servicentro Guardabarranco – Estelí. El objetivo de la investigación consistió en evaluar los procedimientos contables y la información que generan para el análisis financiero y toma de decisiones en beneficio de la empresa, la manera en que dicha información es utilizada y los pasos que se toman para generarla. En vista de que la empresa presenta debilidades en el procesamiento de la información financiera, es necesario dar a conocer los procedimientos que se deben llevar a cabo para obtener resultados reales y facilitar la toma de decisiones; el universo constó de 7 trabajadores del área administrativa, siendo la muestra el gerente propietario, gerente general, contador general, auxiliar contable, responsable de control de inventario, responsable de cartera y cobro y responsable de caja

Detecting enteropathogenic Campylobacters in chicken feces by PCR and comparing with culture method

امروزه کامپیلوباکترها از شایع ترین علل اسهال های باکتریایی در سرتاسر جهان محسوب می شوند. در جنس کامپیلوباکتر 18 گونه و تحت گونه وجود دارد که گونه های Campylobacter jejuni و Campylobacter coli مسبب اکثر عفونت های انسانی ناشی از کامپیلوباکترها می باشند و مهم ترین بیماری آنها نیز اسهال می باشد. بیماری در انسان متعاقب مصرف آب و مواد غذایی بویژه گوشت ماکیان رخ می دهد. تشخیص باکتریولوژیک این باکتری با دشواری زیادی از قبیل طولانی بودن مدت انکوباسیون و محدودیت تست های افتراقی همراه است. بنابراین استفاده از روش های دیگر تشخیصی امروزه مورد توجه قرار گرفته است. تعداد 116 نمونه رکتال سواپ از مرغ های موجود در مرغداری های شهر اصفهان گرفته شده و پس از 18-12 ساعت غنی سازی در محیط Campy-Thio، در محیط اختصاصی Campylobacter selective agar کشت شدند. برای شناسایی و تعیین گونه ها از رنگ آمیزی گرم و تست های اکسیداز، کاتالاز، هیدرولیز هیپورات و سنجش حساسیت به نالیدیسیک اسید و سفالوتین استفاده شد. جهت استخراج DNA از کیت های اختصاصی استفاده شد و با استفاده از پرایمرهای ویژه گونه های ژژونی و کلی اقدام به انجام PCR (Palymeras Chain Reaction) گردید. نتیجه کشت در 11 مورد مثبت بود (5/9) که از این تعداد 8 مورد مربوط به گونه ژژونی و 3 مورد مربوط به گونه کلی بود. نتیجه PCR نمـونه هـا در 27 مـورد مثـبت بود (2/23) که از این تعداد 18 مورد مربوط به گونه ژژونی و 9 مورد مربوط به گونه کلی بود. حساسیت و ویژگی روش PCR در مقایسه با روش کشت بترتیب 100 و 7/84 درصد بود. روش PCR مورد استفاده در این تحقیق قادر به شناسایی تمام نمونه های کشت مثبت بود و نتایج تعیین گونه با این روش تطابق کاملی با روش بیوشیمیایی داشت. بنابراین با توجه به دقت بالا و سرعت زیاد به نظر می رسد روش PCR جایگزین مناسبی جهت کشت در تشخیص کامپیلوباکترها در نمونه های مرغ ها باشد
