The map of Johannes Quintinus Haeduus and its derivatives

The first known map of the Maltese islands was drawn in the latter part of the fifteenth century, but the first printed map was that published in 1536 in Lyons by Johannes Quintinus. Being rather primitive, it did not serve as a model for other maps beyond the 16th century. However, as it was important in the time frame of Maltese cartography, it was reproduced by other cartographers, namely, in Frankfurt in 1600, in 1725 in Leiden, and around 1800 as a loose sheet probably in Malta. Of the 16th-century Malta maps, those by Antonio Lafreri (1551) and Matteo Perez d'Aleccio (1582) remained the basic maps for the next two centuries.peer-reviewe

Insulin has important effects on the metabolism, whereby its properties and functions are outlined as the "storage hormone". Notwithstanding, it is antagonized by other hormones, particularly by hydrocortisone, adrenaline, glucagon and the growth hormone. Since the creation of the Constitutional Court in 1964, the number of lawsuits concerning the Constitution and its Fundamental Rights sections has been very limited. This may reflect well on the drafting of the Constitution and also on the absence of violations of the guaranteed Fundamental Rights, but it may also be due to an insufficiency of awareness on the part of the population in general, as to the full implications of the standards imposed by the constitutional provisions and the types of remedies ensuing therefrom.peer-reviewe

Textiloma que se presenta como una masa abdominal: presentación de un caso y revisión bibliográfica

El “textiloma” es un término usado para describir aquel material formado por una matriz de algodón que es dejada involuntariamente en alguna cavidad durante la cirugía, y las reacciones secundarias a su presencia en el cuerpo, este término tiene distintos sinónimos, los más conocidos son: gossypiboma, corpus allienum, oblitoma y gasa o textil retenido. La sintomatología es inespecífica y puede simular diversos padecimientos dependiendo de la región que se encuentre comprometida y el tiempo que transcurra desde el procedimiento quirúrgico.Textiloma o gossypiboma es el término acuñado para describir una masa compuesta por una matriz de algodón que es olvidado en una cavidad, posterior a una intervención quirúrgica. Se calcula una incidencia aproximada de 1 de cada 100 a 5,000 cirugías. Sin embargo, debido a los problemas médico-legales que puede ocasionar, es reportado en menor frecuencia. Los síntomas suelen ser poco específicos y el diagnóstico se basa en estudios de imagen. El tratamiento más adecuado es la intervención quirúrgica para su remoción. El término “textiloma” se refiere a un cuerpo de tela dejado involuntariamente en el paciente durante la cirugía y a las reacciones secundarias que perpetúan su presencia en el cuerpo. La sospecha clínica es de suma importancia para el correcto diagnóstico de esta entidad. Presentamos el caso de un masculino de 53 años de edad, con antecedente de colecistectomía abierta hace 9 años por cuadro agudo de colecistitis. Inicia su padecimiento con dolor abdominal en epigastrio tipo cólico, agravándose con dolor en hipocondrio e incapacidad para canalizar gases, además de intolerancia a la vía oral. Se encontró paciente orientado, mal estado de hidratación, peristalsis disminuida, dolor a la palpación en hipocondrio derecho con masa en el mismo. Laboratorio sin anormalidades, se le realizaron estudios de gabinete reportando una imagen sugestiva de un textiloma, se le realiza laparotomía exploratoria la cual reveló tumor con cápsula fibrosa adherido al colon e hígado. El reporte histopatológico fue compatible con cuerpo extraño. El paciente evolucionó satisfactoriamente

Transformaciones dramáticas, poéticas y musicales de la fábula mitológica en la corte española a finales del siglo XVII (1680-1700)

Tesis inédita de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Facultad de Geografía e Historia, leída el 10-01-2023El objetivo principal del presente trabajo es el estudio de los cambios producidos en la música, entendida como elemento significativo y significante, dentro del drama mitológico cortesano en los últimos veinte años del siglo XVII. Para abordar esta tarea ha sido necesario establecer una metodología que permitiera mostrar con claridad aspectos musicales y filológicos que indicaran dicha transformación. El procedimiento que se ha considerado más adecuado es el basado en el análisis semiótico teatral porque expone con claridad las funciones que adopta el signo musical al relacionarse con el resto de los elementos dramáticos. Así pues, este estudio semiótico permite saber cómo, por qué y en qué momento los autores dramáticos incorporan secciones musicales a sus obras y, por tanto, comprender los patrones comunes manejados por todos ellos para introducir dichas secciones en la trama. En otras palabras, el análisis de las relaciones que establece la música con elementos dramáticos como el espacio, el tiempo, la acción y los personajes en las representaciones palaciegas aporta una valiosa información para determinar los diferentes cambios que se producen a través de los años en este conjunto de obras...The main objective of the present work is the study of the changes produced in music, understood as a significant and signifier element, within the courtly mythological drama in the last twenty years of the seventeenth century. In order to approach this task, it has been necessary to establish a methodology that would allow to clearly show musical and philological aspects which indicated this transformation. The procedure that has been considered most appropriate is the one based on the theatrical semiotic analysis because it clearly exposes the functions that the musical sign adopts when it is related to the rest of the dramatic elements. Thus, this semiotic study allows us to know how, why, and at what moment playwrights incorporate musical sections into their plays, as well as, therefore, to understand the common patterns used by all of them to introduce such sections into the plot. Sexual Propagation of Cashew (Anacardium occidentale L.) Varieties in Bataan, Philippines is Affected by Different Combination of Growing Media

The study was conducted to evaluate the effect of different combinations of growing media on the different varieties of cashew grown in Bataan, Philippines. It aimed to evaluate the number of days to germination, percentage germination, seedling height, number of leaves, leaf area index, and diameter of the stem for the duration of sixty days. It is a two-factor experiment arranged in Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of three Bataan cashew varieties as the Factor A and five combinations of growing media as Factor B with three replications. The experimental treatments were as follow: Factor A (Varieties of Cashew): V1-Bataan Variety 1, V2-Bataan Variety 2, V3-Bataan Variety 3; and Factor B (Soil Media): SM1-1 part garden soil, 1 part compost, 1 part sand, SM2-1 part garden soil, 1 part compost, ½ part sand, ½ part carbonized rice hull, SM3-1 part garden soil, 1 part compost, ½ part sand, ½ part coco coir dust, SM4-1 part garden soil, 1 part compost, 1 part carbonized rice hull, and SM5-1 part garden soil, 1 part compost, 1 part coco coir dust. Results revealed that Bataan Variety 1 and Bataan Variety 3 were significantly the earliest to germinate while Bataan Variety 1 significantly had the highest success percentage of 92%, highest number of leaves produced (9.81), and the highest recorded leaf area (50.26 mm2). For growing media, 1 part garden soil, 1 part compost, 1 part coco coir dust significantly had the tallest plants (30.92 cm) and the most number of leaves. Furthermore, the interaction between varieties and growing media showed no significant difference in all parameters stated. These findings will be useful for the cashew growers, producers, nursery propagators in selecting the best growing media to enhanced their sexual propagation

The Role of Influencer Representation Agencies in Modern Advertising

Grado en Administración y Dirección de EmpresasLas redes sociales han traído consigo nuevos conceptos que hoy en día se emplean frecuentemente dentro de diversas áreas del marketing. Sin embargo, son las agencias de representación de influencers no tan sonadas ni parecen presentar la misma importancia frente a los usuarios de estas plataformas. Por tanto, este TFG pretende comprender los puntos principales que rodean a estas empresas, el contexto en el que han crecido, la diferencia que presentan respecto de otros agentes, el futuro que se prevé en su funcionamiento y lo que las convierte en un eslabón clave dentro de la colaboración con creadores de contenido. Para lograr esta consecución de objetivos, se han llevado a cabo dos estudios con públicos distinguidos. Por un lado, una entrevista realizada a un trabajador de la agencia You First, líder en el sector, en la que se tratan temas internos desde un punto de vista profesional. El segundo estudio consiste en la realización de una encuesta a personas de variada edad, en ella, se responden preguntas relacionadas con los objetivos principales con la finalidad de analizar la perspectiva de consumidores de los medios digitales. Gracias a ellos se llega a una conclusión, que, seguida de recomendaciones hacia futuras agencias, completa el documento final.Social media has brought with it new concepts that are nowadays frequently used in various areas of marketing. However, it is surprising how influencer representation agencies are not as wellknown and do not present the same importance to the users of these platforms. Therefore, this TFG aims to understand the main points surrounding these companies, the context in which they have grown, the difference they present with respect to other agents, the future that is foreseen in their operation and what makes them a key link in the collaboration with content creators. In order to achieve these objectives, two studies have been carried out with distinguished audiences. On the one hand, an interview with an employee of the You First agency, a leader in the sector, in which internal issues are dealt with from a professional and personal point of view. The second study consists of a survey of people of various ages, in which questions related to the main objectives are answered in order to analyse the consumer perspective of digital media. Thanks to them, a conclusion is reached, which is followed by recommendations for future agencies and completes the final document

Proyecto de mejora del sueño en pacientes hospitalizados en el Hospital Universitario Donostia

La mayoría de los pacientes hospitalizados no descansan bien por múltiples factores entre los cuales destacan el ruido ambiental y las intervenciones de los profesionales de enfermería durante las horas de sueño. Esto acarrea consecuencias desfavorables para su salud, incluso puede derivar en un aumento de los días de estancia. Por todo ello, el Hospital Universitario Donostia (HUD) establece el proyecto “mejora del sueño en pacientes hospitalizados” con el fin de extender el conocimiento y concienciar a los profesionales de enfermería sobre la importancia que tiene el sueño para estos. Objetivos: participar en el proyecto “mejora del sueño en pacientes hospitalizados” en el Hospital Universitario Donostia. Actividades y resultados: se ha participado en el proyecto realizando diversos tipos de actividades, como son: en primer lugar, actividades de planificación y gestión; en segundo lugar, actividades de investigación y evaluación, donde se han recogido y analizado datos e información relacionados con el ruido y sueño en el HUD; y, por último, se han realizado tareas de difusión-formación con el fin de dar a conocer el proyecto y concienciar acerca de la importancia del sueño en pacientes hospitalizados. Práctica reflexiva: participar en un proyecto de estas características contribuye a adquirir conocimientos y habilidades complementarias que difícilmente se podrían haber logrado en el trascurso de la formación universitaria ni realizando otro tipo de trabajo. Además, ayuda a ser consciente de la dificultad y del esfuerzo que supone poner en marcha un proyecto, tanto individualmente como para una organización. Asimismo, facilita el poder trabajar y compartir experiencias con profesionales de diferentes ámbitos y superar retos personales
