    Two-proton radioactivity and three-body decay. V. Improved momentum distributions

    Nowadays quantum-mechanical theory allows one to reliably calculate the processes of 2p radioactivity (true three-body decays) and the corresponding energy and angular correlations up to distances of the order of 1000 fm. However, the precision of modern experiments has now become sufficient to indicate some deficiency of the predicted theoretical distributions. In this paper we discuss the extrapolation along the classical trajectories as a method to improve the convergence of the theoretical energy and angular correlations at very large distances (of the order of atomic distances), where only the long-range Coulomb forces are still operating. The precision of this approach is demonstrated using the "exactly" solvable semianalytical models with simplified three-body Hamiltonians. It is also demonstrated that for heavy 2p emitters, the 2p decay momentum distributions can be sensitive to the effect of the screening by atomic electrons.     Materiality in audit of financial reporting party conducting accounting of joint activity

    The study aims to develop recommendations for auditors in determining the level of materiality in the audit of the financial statements of a legal entity that is a responsible party to the simple partnership agreement. According to the author, for a separate balance sheet and income statement of the joint activity of the participants, the data which are not reflected in the statements of the audited entity conducting the joint activity and its accounting, is reasonable to be included in the calculation of materiality. The joint activity data plays an important role in the preparation of the audit plan, as being unverifiable by external supervisors, except for representatives of the parties under a simple partnership agreement. An auditor applies his/her professional judgment, experience and theoretical knowledge in the field of accounting and taxation of joint activities under a simple partnership agreement, to independently determine the indicators of joint activities that can affect the audited financial statements. The author used the following research methods: analysis, synthesis, observation, experiment and so on, which are based on the practical activities of the author and participation in audits and consultations as an expert. The study allowed recommendations for the auditors to choose indicators of financial statements during the audit, which will allow being cautious in the preparation of the audit report. Scientific novelty is the problem of determining the materiality in the audit in the actual presence of a separate balance sheet of joint activities, the data of which are not included in the audited statements but can affect it.peer-reviewe

    Developing a Child and Adolescent Chorister Engagement Survey: Probing Perceptions of Early Collective Experiences and Outcomes

    This article describes the design and implementation of a survey instrument specifically developed for 6–17-year-old Australian choral singers to access and measure participants’ perceptions of their self-esteem, self-efficacy, musical identity and social engagement as outcomes of participation in a high-quality choral ensemble. After reviewing existing music surveys and identifying their strengths, complementarities, differences and potential weaknesses, we adapted established surveys from psychology and social science literature to the choral music setting. An initial draft survey was trialled with higher education choristers and refined prior to implementation in six young choirs that were noted for their high-quality performance. Data from 202 surveys were analysed using confirmatory factor analysis and this resulted in a four-factor model. The validated survey was implemented twice over a six-month period with 61 choristers drawn from three choirs. Results showed that social and psychological benefits of choir participation were evidenced, maintained and even improved over time. Findings support the suitability and psychometric soundness of this new survey instrument, and demonstrate the usefulness of adapting psychological/social survey instruments to music research

    Fractal modeling of historical demographie processes

    "The article presents several results of the computer modeling of demographic processes in the late traditional rural communities by means of fractal geometry. A team of contributors developed a model and software for it, then carried out its verification, data processing, computer modeling and Interpretation of results. The analysis of modeling outcomes allowed to build a holistic picture of the demographic behavior in rural communities of the Tambov province - one of the typical agrarian regions of 19th and 20th century Russia. Authors describe the degree and ways of how demographic behavior of the society was influenced by such factors as famine, war, epidemics, a level of health care infrastructure development, etc. Besides, it was possible to trace some non-linear effects in demographic strategies agrarian communities followed during modernization processes in Russia in the second half of the 19th and 20th centuries."     Electron-phonon relaxation and excited electron distribution in zinc oxide and anatase

    We propose a first-principle method for evaluations of the time-dependent electron distribution function of excited electrons in the conduction band of semiconductors. The method takes into account the excitations of electrons by external source and the relaxation to the bottom of conduction band via electron-phonon coupling. The methods permits calculations of the non-equilibrium electron distribution function, the quasi-stationary distribution function with steady-in-time source of light, the time of setting of the quasi-stationary distribution and the time of energy loss via relaxation to the bottom of conduction band. The actual calculations have been performed for titanium dioxide in the anatase structure and zinc oxide in the wurtzite structure. We find that the quasi-stationary electron distribution function for ZnO is a fermi-like curve that rises linearly with increasing excitation energy whereas the analogous curve for anatase consists of a main peak and a shoulder. The calculations demonstrate that the relaxation of excited electrons and the setting of the quasi-stationary distribution occur within the time no more than 500 fsec for ZnO and 100 fsec for anatase. We also discuss the applicability of the effective phonon model with energy-independent electron-phonon transition probability. We find that the model only reproduces the trends in changing of the characteristic times whereas the precision of such calculations is not high. The rate of energy transfer to phonons at the quasi-stationary electron distribution also have been evaluated and the effect of this transfer on the photocatalyses has been discussed. We found that for ZnO this rate is about 5 times less than in anatase.Comment: 21 p., 9 figure

    Observation of the fine structure for rovibronic spectral lines in visible part of emission spectra of D2D_2

    For the first time in visible part of the D2D_2 emission spectrum the pseudo doublets representing partly resolved fine structure of rovibronic lines have been observed. They are characterized by splitting values about 0.2 cm1^{-1} and relative intensity of the doublet components close to 2.0. It is shown that they are determined by triplet splitting in lower rovibronic levels of various 3Λg±c3Πu^3\Lambda_g^\pm \to c^3\Pi_u^- electronic transitions. It is proposed to use an existence of such partly resolved fine structure patterns for identification of numerous unassigned spectral lines of the D2D_2 molecule coming from great variety of triplet "gerade" electronic states to vibro-rotational levels of the c3Πuc^3\Pi_u^- state.Comment: 6 pages, including 2 figures and 1 table; submitted to Phys.Rev.Let
