    THEME AND THEMATIC PROGRESSION IN STUDENTS’ RECOUNT TEXTS

    Sebagai suatu aspek penting dalam komunikasi, representasi pengalaman perlu dilakukan secara tepat khususnya dalam komunikasi verbal. Penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana siswa laki-laki dan perempuan merepresentasikan pengalaman mereka dalam teks recount dan apa implikasi analisis representasi ini pada pengajaran Bahasa Inggris. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, studi ini menggunakan desain kualitatif. Data penelitian didapatkan melalui pengumpulan teks siswa dan wawancara siswa. Sebagai data utama, teks-teks siswa ini selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan kerangka transitivitas Halliday (1994) untuk mengetahui representasi pengalaman siswa laki-laki dan perempuan. Respon wawancara dianalisis untuk menjelaskan beberapa informasi dalam teks yang perlu dikonfirmasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari segi lexicogrammar, baik siswa laki-laki maupun perempuan merepresentasikan pengalaman mereka dengan cara yang hampir sama. Dalam hal penggunaan proses, dari tujuh jenis proses diketahui bahwa proses Material mendominasi dalam teks siswa di kedua kelompok gender. Sedangkan, mengenai penggunaan partisipan, dari 19 jenis partisipan, Actor, Goal, Carrier dan Attribute merupakan jenis yang paling sering digunakan dibandingkan dengan jenis yang lain. Keempat jenis partisipan ini terdistribusi secara hampir merata dalam teks. Di sisi lain, beberapa perbedaan dapat dilihat, khususnya dari segi pemilihan topik. Siswa laki-laki menunjukkan kecenderungan pada topik-topik yang bersifat egosentris (berkaitan dengan diri sendiri), sedangkan siswa perempuan cenderung untuk memilih topik-topik berkaitan dengan relasi (berhubungan dengan orang lain). Dalam penelitian ini juga diungkapkan bahwa analisis representasi dapat berkontribusi untuk meningkatkan kesadaran gender pada guru dan siswa khususnya dalam proses belajar mengajar. Selain itu, analisis representasi ini juga dapat berkontribusi bagi guru, terutama mengenai bagaimana mengajarkan Recount text pada siswa berkaitan dengan pemilihan kata dan tata bahasanya.;---As an important aspect of communication, representation of experiences needs to be conducted appropriately especially in verbal communication. This study examines how male and female students represent their experiences in recount texts and the implications of this representation analysis for English Language Teaching (ELT). To attain these goals, this study employs a qualitative design. Data were gathered through the collection of students’ texts and interview with students. The texts, as the main data, were analysed using Halliday’s (1994) transitivity framework to see male and female students’ representation of experiences. Responses to the interview were analysed to clarify some information in the text that needs to be confirmed. The findings reveal that in terms of lexicogrammar, both male and female students represent their experiences in almost similar ways. Concerning the use of processes, out of seven processes, Material processes dominate in both gender groups’ texts. Meanwhile, regarding the use of participants, out of 19 participants Actor, Goal, Carrier and Attribute are those which are employed more frequently than other participants. These participants are almost equally distributed in the texts. On the other hand, some differences can be noted especially in terms of topic choices. Male students have shown preferences for self-centred topics, while female students have a tendency to choose relational topics. It is also revealed that the representation analysis in this study could contribute to raise both teachers’ and students’ gender awareness, especially in teaching learning processes. In addition, it might also make a contribution for teachers, particularly about how to teach students a Recount text in relation to the lexical and grammatical choices

    This study aims to investigate the Theme and Thematic progression patterns in students’ recount text in a state vocational school in Bandung. This study employs a descriptive-qualitative research design. The data were obtained from a collection of students’ texts. This study uses the theory of Theme system developed by Halliday (1994) and the theory of Thematic progression proposed by Eggins (2004) as the framework to analyze the data. The findings showed that the Theme and Thematic progression supports the character of Recount text written by the students to some extents: the Topical Theme represents the students’ ability to deliver what the text is about, the Interpersonal Theme helps students declare their personal comments, while the Textual Theme showed the students’ ability to develop the logical relationship between clauses and make their texts more cohesive and coherent. In terms of thematic progression patterns, the Theme Reiteration pattern signposts that the students tend to make the text focus by repeating the same element as Themes; the Zig Zag pattern showed that the students introduce newly information by promoting the Rheme in a clause to the Theme in the subsequent clause, and the Multiple Theme pattern specifies that the students develop the texts well according to the prior plan before writing those ideas in the text

    Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji dan menganalisis pengaruh independensi, komitmen organisasi, budaya organisasi, gaya kepemimpinan dan pemahaman good governance terhadap kinerja auditor pada kantor akuntan publik di Yogyakarta.Berdasarkan penelitian diharapkan dapat memberikan masukan-masukan atau informasi bagi KAP khususnya bagi auditor senior maupun yunior untuk digunakan sebagai bahan pertimbangan dalam menjalankan pemeriksaan akuntansi (auditing) harus berdasarkan pada prinsip akuntansi yang berlaku umum dan selalu menegakkan Kode Etik Akuntan sebagai profesi akuntan publik serta dapat dijadikan evaluasi bagi auditor KAP agar lebih memperhatikan dan meningkatkan independensi, gaya kepemimpinan, komitmen organisasi, budaya organisasi, dan pemahaman good governance. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer yang berasal dari penyebaran kuisoner yang disebar pada KAP di Yogyakarta. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini dari data primer dan sekunder. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuisoner.Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa statistic deskriptif, uji kualitas data yang terdiri dari uji validitas dan uji realibilitas, uji asumsi klasik yang tediri dari uji normalitas, uji multikolinearitas dan uji hiteroskedastisitas; serata uji hipotesis yang terdiri dari sedangkan analisis regresi berganda, uji t, uji F, dan koefisien determinasi ( Adjusted R²). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa dari analisis regresi berganda menunjukkan : (1) Indepedensi auditor tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja auditor, terbukti dari hasil uji t diperoleh nilai p>0,05 maka H1 ditolak secara statistik. (2) Gaya kepemimpinan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja auditor. Hal ini terbukti dari hasil uji t diperoleh nilai p0,05 maka H3 ditolak secara statistik. 4) Budaya organisasi tidak berpengaruhsignifikan terhadap kinerja auditor, terbukti darihasil uji t diperoleh nilai p>0,05 maka H4 ditolak secara statistik. (5) Pemahaman good governanace tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja auditor, terbukti dari hasil uji t diperoleh nilai p>0,05 maka H5 ditolak secara statistik

    Peer tutoring is a learning method that is carried out by selecting students who have more abilities than others to guide other students who have abilities below them. The research in this thesis formulates three main problems, namely:How is the implementation of the peer tutoring method at Martia Bhakti High School Bekasi and What are the supporting factors and inhibiting factors in the application of the peer tutor method at Martia Bhakti High School Bekasi. The purpose of the study was to determine the implementation of the peer tutoring method as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors for the application of the peer tutor method in improving students' reading skills of the Koran at SMA Martia Bhakti Bekasi.The research in this thesis uses naturalistic qualitative research, namely research that is based on a phenomenological view and seeks to understand the meaning of events and their relation to the object of research. The results showed that the peer tutoring method at SMA Martia Bhakti Bekasi did not cover the maturity of planning, implementation of organizing activities and evaluating activities. This can be confirmed because the peer tutoring method at SMA Martia Bhakti Bekasi has not become the main program in learning the Qur'an. The factors that support the application of peer tutors at SMA Martia Bhakti Bekasi include the enthusiasm of students in reciting the Qur'an, the cohesiveness of teachers in teaching the Qur'an, and encouragement from parents or guardians of students. While the inhibiting factors, time constraints, quality of tutors (tutor standardization), there are no specific guidelines for learning the Koran using peer tutors and have not made peer tutors the main program in learning the Koran

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan mengenal huruf vokal melalui kolase. Subjek penelitian adalah anak kelompok A di TK Al-Wardah. Hasil penelitian menujukkan adanya  peningkatan kemampuan mengenal huruf vokal 85,3%. berdasarkan evaluasi hasil dari siklus I dan siklus II.     Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana prosedur dan persyaratan dalam Akad Pembiayaan Murabahah pada PT. Bank Syariah Mandiri, Cabang Manado dan apa akibat hukum para pihak dalam Akad Pembiayaan Murabahah di PT. Bank Syariah Mandiri, Cabang Manado. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian hukum normatif dan penelitian lapangan (field research) disimpulkan bahwa: 1. Prosedur dan persyaratan dalam penyaluran dana berupa Akad Pembiayaan Murabahah di PT. Bank Syariah Mandiri Cabang Manado, tidak hanya dilakukan berdasarkan ketentuan Hukum Islam, melainkan juga berdasarkan ketentuan Hukum Perbankan Syariah, serta ketentuan khusus yang diterapkan di PT. Bank Syariah Mandiri, yakni negosiasi Pembiayaan Murabahah antara calon nasabah dengan Bank Syariah, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan pemenuhan kelengkapan dokumen yang diperlukan yang meliputi: Dokumen Pribadi, Legalitas Usaha, dan Dokumen Pendukung Usaha, yang kesemuanya telah ditentukan secara khusus dalam Standar Operasional Prosedur (SOP) PT. Bank Syariah Mandiri. 2. Akibat hukum para pihak dalam Akad Pembiayaan Murabahah di PT. Bank Syariah Mandiri Cabang Manado, merupakan akibat hukum yang timbul dari suatu hubungan hukum, ketika salah satu pihak tidak memenuhi kewajibannya, maka di sini terjadi akibat hukum berupa pemenuhan kewajiban tersebut. PT. Bank Syariah Mandiri menerapkan klausul penyelesaiannya dengan cara musyawarah dan kekeluargaan, apabila cara seperti itu tidak dapat mencapai kesepakatan, barulah upaya terakhir diselesaikan melalui Pengadilan Negeri setempat.     Typical Characteristics of Agung Banana (Musa paradisiaca) from Lumajang

    Banana is a superior commodity in Indonesia, and its growth is unaffected by seasons. Lumajang districts are one of the significant regions of East Java known for producing bananas, particularly the Tanduk banana (Musa paradisiaca) which are also known as the agung banana. The aim of this study was to characterize agung banana as one of the M. paradisiaca cultivars. The present study was conducted between May and June 2020 in Pasrujambe sub-district. The results showed that agung banana is typically shaped like a horn and is 32 cm in length and 16 cm in diameter. Each bunch of agung banana has about 1–2 hands. Every hand has 15–20 fingers and weighs around 20–30 kg per bunch. Agung banana has a thick pulp and is sweet and yellow in colour. The colour of rind changes to black after about two weeks, and although it might look like a rotten fruit, the pulp remains hard and tastes sweeter. Each cluster has about 2–3 suckers. The fruit is generally ready for harvest after 11 months of plantation and can hold on for up to three weeks. Keywords: characterization, banana, Musa paradisiaca, Lumajan

    The Voice of the Qur'an's Potential in Pain Management : Review Study

    Background: Pain is multidimensional. Pharmacological therapy is still not optimal and has unwanted side effects. Therefore, a safe, effective, and comprehensive non-pharmacological therapy is needed to compensate for the lack of pharmacological therapy. Listening to the recitation of the Koran in several studies has been shown to have a relaxing effect in various situations.Objectives: The study aims to see whether listening to the Koran as a type of non-pharmacological therapy will help people overcome pain.Method: Using the terms "Quran, Holy Quran, Koran, Quran recitation, Pain, Pain Management, endorphins," a comprehensive search was conducted on many databases, including Clinical Key, Cochrane Lab, Medline, Ebsco Host, Proquest, Science Direct, and Springer Link. There were 209 articles found, and after several screening stages, 9 articles met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The level of evidence and the Cochrane Collaboration's tool for assessing the risk of bias was used to assess the article's quality.  Result: Listening to The Qur'an has been shown to reduce pain in post-surgery, blood sampling, wound care, dysmenorrhea, and childbirth. Some studies are still lacking evidence and are biased. Listening to the Koran is highly recommended for use as a health service.
