Diesel Multiple Unit Class 7023 for Regional Passenger Transport
U ovom radu opisan je novi dizel-motorni vlak serije 7023. ObraÄena je i prouÄena prometna potraĆŸnja u regionalnom prometu na neelektrificiranim prugama. TakoÄer je prouÄena struktura i stanje dize-motornih vlakova HĆœ PutniÄkog prijevoza iz koje je vidljivo da je bilo potrebno naruÄiti nove vlakove za regionalni putniÄki prijevoz. U radu je prikazana osnovna koncepcija dizel-motornih vlakova, te su za kraj prikazani tehniÄki podaci i koÄenje DMV-a 7023.In this piece of work is describes a new diesel multiple unit class 7023. The structure and stte of diesel multiple unit has also been studied and it is apparent that it was necessary to order new trains for regional traffic. An AAVP-based solid-phase transducing matrix for transgene delivery: potential for translational applications
A hybrid vector of adeno-associated virus and phage (termed AAVP) has been introduced as a platform for systemic ligand-directed delivery of transgenes to tumors over the past decade. A series of studies have evaluated the AAVP platform for potential theranostic or purely therapeutic applications in several tumor models. Sufficient ligand-directed tumor targeting consistently resulted in specific molecular-genetic imaging and/or anti-tumor responses to âsuicideâ transgene delivery. However, efforts to optimize transduction efficiency are still ongoing. Here, we set out to expand the translational utility of AAVP by combining it with gold (Au) nanoparticles in order to generate a âtransducing matrixâ for improved targeted gene delivery in solid phase. Targeted AAVP-based solid-phase transduction is superior to conventional transduction in soluble (aqueous) environments. This transducing matrix is stable and can be further modified with additional attributes (for example, magnetization) for targeted imaging and therapeutic gene delivery. Notably, it spontaneously assembles around cells in vitro to markedly enhance transduction capabilities compared with AAVP alone. This versatile nanoplatform may enable new applications of AAVP for transgene delivery in translational settings including, for example, efforts toward complex tissue patterning
Potential role of monkey inferior parietal neurons coding action semantic equivalences as precursors of parts of speech
The anterior portion of the inferior parietal cortex possesses comprehensive representations of actions embedded in behavioural contexts. Mirror neurons, which respond to both self-executed and observed actions, exist in this brain region in addition to those originally found in the premotor cortex. We found that parietal mirror neurons responded differentially to identical actions embedded in different contexts. Another type of parietal mirror neuron represents an inverse and complementary property of responding equally to dissimilar actions made by itself and others for an identical purpose. Here, we propose a hypothesis that these sets of inferior parietal neurons constitute a neural basis for encoding the semantic equivalence of various actions across different agents and contexts. The neurons have mirror neuron properties, and they encoded generalization of agents, differentiation of outcomes, and categorization of actions that led to common functions. By integrating the activities of these mirror neurons with various codings, we further suggest that in the ancestral primates' brains, these various representations of meaningful action led to the gradual establishment of equivalence relations among the different types of actions, by sharing common action semantics. Such differential codings of the components of actions might represent precursors to the parts of protolanguage, such as gestural communication, which are shared among various members of a society. Finally, we suggest that the inferior parietal cortex serves as an interface between this action semantics system and other higher semantic systems, through common structures of action representation that mimic language syntax
Ligand-targeted theranostic nanomedicines against cancer
AbstractNanomedicines have significant potential for cancer treatment. Although the majority of nanomedicines currently tested in clinical trials utilize simple, biocompatible liposome-based nanocarriers, their widespread use is limited by non-specificity and low target site concentration and thus, do not provide a substantial clinical advantage over conventional, systemic chemotherapy. In the past 20years, we have identified specific receptors expressed on the surfaces of tumor endothelial and perivascular cells, tumor cells, the extracellular matrix and stromal cells using combinatorial peptide libraries displayed on bacteriophage. These studies corroborate the notion that unique receptor proteins such as IL-11Rα, GRP78, EphA5, among others, are differentially overexpressed in tumors and present opportunities to deliver tumor-specific therapeutic drugs. By using peptides that bind to tumor-specific cell-surface receptors, therapeutic agents such as apoptotic peptides, suicide genes, imaging dyes or chemotherapeutics can be precisely and systemically delivered to reduce tumor growth in vivo, without harming healthy cells. Given the clinical applicability of peptide-based therapeutics, targeted delivery of nanocarriers loaded with therapeutic cargos seems plausible. We propose a modular design of a functionalized protocell in which a tumor-targeting moiety, such as a peptide or recombinant human antibody single chain variable fragment (scFv), is conjugated to a lipid bilayer surrounding a silica-based nanocarrier core containing a protected therapeutic cargo. The functionalized protocell can be tailored to a specific cancer subtype and treatment regimen by exchanging the tumor-targeting moiety and/or therapeutic cargo or used in combination to create unique, theranostic agents. In this review, we summarize the identification of tumor-specific receptors through combinatorial phage display technology and the use of antibody display selection to identify recombinant human scFvs against these tumor-specific receptors. We compare the characteristics of different types of simple and complex nanocarriers, and discuss potential types of therapeutic cargos and conjugation strategies. The modular design of functionalized protocells may improve the efficacy and safety of nanomedicines for future cancer therapy
Functional Multipotency of Stem Cells: A Conceptual Review of Neurotrophic Factor-Based Evidence and Its Role in Translational Research
We here propose an updated concept of stem cells (SCs), with an emphasis on neural stem cells (NSCs). The conventional view, which has touched principally on the essential property of lineage multipotency (e.g., the ability of NSCs to differentiate into all neural cells), should be broadened to include the emerging recognition of biofunctional multipotency of SCs to mediate systemic homeostasis, evidenced in NSCs in particular by the secretion of neurotrophic factors. Under this new conceptual context and taking the NSC as a leading example, one may begin to appreciate and seek the âlogicâ behind the wide range of molecular tactics the NSC appears to serve at successive developmental stages as it integrates into and prepares, modifies, and guides the surrounding CNS micro- and macro-environment towards the formation and self-maintenance of a functioning adult nervous system. We suggest that embracing this view of the âmultipotencyâ of the SCs is pivotal for correctly, efficiently, and optimally exploiting stem cell biology for therapeutic applications, including reconstitution of a dysfunctional CNS

Higher Education and behavior analysis in Europe::Creating a unified approach for the training of autism professionals
Training of behaviour analysts for autism services, has improved notably within a European higher education context. However, regional discrepancies associated with economic, health care, social services, and institutional policies magnify the importance of creating appropriate unified training and consumer protection. Although the European Association for Behaviour Analysis (EABA) has endorsed the Behavior Analyst Certification Boardâs (BACB) designations, the absence of European and national regulations, recognition, and accreditation remain significant barriers to quality training and implementation. These challenges are particularly pertinent in light of BACB decision to limit certification to residents in the USA and Canada after 2022. Advances, challenges, and future directions are discussed within the context of higher education in the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Norway, and Sweden. The post-Bologna European agenda for higher education, globalization and opportunities for the training of behaviour analysts within European higher education are outlined
