The impact of information and communication technology and internal market orientation blending on organisational performance in small and medium enterprises

Purpose: The present study examines the concept of internal market orientation (IMO) and its effects on organisational performance comprising job satisfaction and employees’ loyalty in the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) research context. Rooted in administrative theory, human relations theory, conventional theories of IMO, and internal marketing, this study develops a novel iIMO theoretical framework which evinces the proliferation of ICTs in SMEs. Design/methodology/approach: The proposed concept was empirically investigated by means of surveying 316 SME employees with the application of a multi-stage sampling procedure. Findings: Research findings confirmed the viability of the ICT-supported iIMO framework, its positive effects on SMEs’ organisational performance, and exhibited ample empirical evidence for the proficiency of the iIMO concept and its suitability for operationalisation by SMEs. Originality/value: This study introduces ICTs as a novel IMO dimension which considers the undergoing holistic digitalisation of businesses. In addition, the present research posits the plausibility and confirms the benefits that arise following iIMO implementation in SMEs

Aproximación teórico-descriptiva de la violencia de género: propuestas para la prevención

Los graves episodios de violencia que transcurren en numerosas familias a diario, es uno de los temas que mayor protagonismo ha ido adquiriendo en las noticias de sucesos. La violencia de género es una consecuencia más de un comportamiento violento que recae sobre una víctima, en este caso la mujer. En este trabajo se presenta el desarrollo de una aproximación teórico-descriptiva de la violencia de género en un intento de aclarar qué variables podrían estar asociadas a su manifestación dentro del contexto familiar. Así, en primer lugar, se hace una breve introducción del concepto de agresión y de los posibles factores que predisponen a su desarrollo y manifestación. A continuación, se describen algunas características que pueden estar relacionadas con el perfil de personalidad del maltratador y las consecuencias tanto físicas como psicológicas que dicha violencia puede ocasionar en la víctima. Finalmente, proponemos algunas de las líneas esenciales a desarrollar en un programa de intervención para maltratadores.Serious successes from gender violence and alarming social oppinion, are probably taking outstanding places in reports. This work aims a theorist and descriptive nearing of gender violence; and it is sustained that many variables can be associated with a violent behavior in family context. The author introduces a brief concept of aggression, as so as possible factors that predispose to its development and manifestation. Then, some characteristics probably connected to aggressor's fuss and their physical and psychological consequences in victims, are described. Finally, we purpose many essential lines in a programme of intervention with aggressors

Ising exponents in the two-dimensional site-diluted Ising model

We study the site-diluted Ising model in two dimensions with Monte Carlo simulations. Using finite-size scaling techniques we compute the critical exponents observing deviations from the pure Ising ones. The differences can be explained as the effects of logarithmic corrections, without requiring to change the Universality Class.Comment: 7 pages, 2 postscript figures. Reference correcte

A scheduling theory framework for GPU tasks efficient execution

Concurrent execution of tasks in GPUs can reduce the computation time of a workload by overlapping data transfer and execution commands. However it is difficult to implement an efficient run- time scheduler that minimizes the workload makespan as many execution orderings should be evaluated. In this paper, we employ scheduling theory to build a model that takes into account the device capabili- ties, workload characteristics, constraints and objec- tive functions. In our model, GPU tasks schedul- ing is reformulated as a flow shop scheduling prob- lem, which allow us to apply and compare well known methods already developed in the operations research field. In addition we develop a new heuristic, specif- ically focused on executing GPU commands, that achieves better scheduling results than previous tech- niques.
