The COVID-19 pandemic affects peopleā€™s everyday way of life. International tourism is one of the most affected activities today, since one of the key measures in the strategy of keeping control over the new pandemic is preventing closer human contact. This includes restricting and discouraging the movement of people towards tourism destinations. These measures have caused major problems for the tourism industry and no form of tourism has been spared. The COVID-19 outbreak, as a real threat to public life and health, has established a new measure as a mandatory condition in everyday life globally - called social distancing. This measure has various impacts on religious communities and a strong influence on how and under which circumstances religious travel and pilgrimages can take place - it means not only physical distancing but also excluding individuals or groups from participating in one anotherā€™s lives. This paper focuses on social distancing from a religious perspective and its implications for religious activities and travel. Further, the paper points to the role of religious communities in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, considering both criticism and its role in saving lives. This paper examines social distancing measuresā€™ impact on everyday religious activities from the Church point of view. Taking the example of the Serbian Orthodox Churchā€™s standpoint and official announcements, the paper considers the important role and contribution of its religious community - several key elements have been singled out. Furthermore, this paper points out factors of the pandemic which affect the faithful and the Church - official decisions / announcements of the Serbian Orthodox Church as well as the influence of the anti-pandemic measures on religious activities and travel. The example also shows the ā€˜strong pointā€™ of religion (religious community influence and strong mindset) which can be accepted or misunderstood as ā€˜resistanceā€™ to the anti-pandemic measures

INVESTIGATING THE IMPACT OF TREE-BASED NETWORK TOPOLOGY ON THE SDN CONTROLLER PERFORMANCE

    Get PDF
Software Defined Networking (SDN) is an important technology that enables a new approach to how we develop and manage networks. SDN divides the data plane and control plane and promotes logical centralization of network control so that the controller can schedule the data in the network effectively through the OpenFlow protocol. The performance and capabilities of the controller itself are important. The impact of network topology type on controller performance can be very significant. In order to have better communication in SDN, it is essential to have an analysis of the performance of specific network topologies. In this paper, we simulate ONOS and RYU controllers and compare their different network parameters under the proposed complex custom Tree-based topology. A network topology has been designed using a Mininet emulator, and the code for topology is executed in Python. From the throughput, packet transmission rate, and latency analysis, the ONOS controller displayed better results than RYU, showing that it can respond to requests more efficiently under complex SDN topologies and traffic loads. On the contrary, the RYU controller provides better results for the less complex SDN networks

Millennials and gamification: A model proposal for gamification application in tourism destination

    Get PDF
A wide range of scientific and professional literature deals with the topic of gamification in tourism, defining it as a new trend. In this paper a model for applying the concept of gamification at the level of the tourism destination is proposed. As a basis, and an introduction to the analysis in this paper, millennials are selected as a market segment with high dynamic growth on the tourism market. The role and importance of millennials for tourism and destinations are especially reflected in their traveling habits, lifestyle and dedication to the use of new technologies in everyday life, and in particular playing games. The commitment of this tourism demand segment to gaming activities, as well as the fact that millennials will make a significant part of the tourism market in the future, points to the need to establish a link between millennials, gamification and its application which may provide multiple benefits for both tourists and tourism destinations. Those benefits are reflected in the improvement of the overall tourist experience as a fundamental product in tourism, on the one hand, and in the improvement of all tourism destination elements

Changes of parameters during welding of certain weld and their impact on cooling time in temperature range of 800 - 500Ā° c

    Get PDF
The cooling time in the temperature range of 800 - 500Ā° C (t8/5) has a major impact on the structures that are formed in the heat affected zone of steel welded joints. Data on the optimum cooling time t8/5 for a particular steels can be found in the literature. Besides the shape of welded joint, the thickness and physical characteristics of the welded steel, welding process and parameters, such as amperage, voltage, welding speed and the preheating temperature also have the impact on the size of the cooling time t8 / 5. During the calculation of the actual value of the cooling time t8/5, which is obtained during the welding of the particular joint, as a rule, the assumption is that the amperage, voltage and welding speed on each section of the joint are equal to the average for the whole joint and that the temperature of the edges of the groove along the entire length are equal to the preheating temperature or inter pass temperature. Measuring of amperage and voltage during welding of a multi-pass butt - welded joint at the high strength steel, using the MIG process are presented in this paper. Results of the measurement showed that the values of the amperage may differ significantly in certain sections of the weld, the average amperage in one part of the weld may be significantly different from the average value of the amperage in the second part of the same weld, and that both may be different from the average value of amperage for the entire weld. The influence of the changes in welding amperage on the amount of heat input and the size of cooling time t8/5 was analysed using numerical methods. It was concluded that, at certain sections of some of the weld, cooling time t8/5 goes beyond the given values, although the average values of the cooling time t8 / 5 for these welds are within the given values

Pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) is a very important agricultural crop in Serbia, and has great economic importance. Pepper fruits are used in the food industry like fresh or processed products and are characterized by excellent culinary and nutritional properties. They are an exceptional source of bioactive substances (carotenoids, ascorbic acid, phenolics, capsaicin) which are considered strong antioxidants, so in addition to application in the food industry, peppers is also used in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. Due to the increased tendency of the use of pepper fruits in human nutrition, researchers aspire to find cultivation technology that will provide both high yield and nutritious fruit with good quality. In this paper six different starter fertilizer (Super Star, Elixir Zorka, Å abac) doses (0, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 kg/ha) were examined in combination with four treatments of biostimulator (Kelpak, Kelp Products Ltd.) application (without, once, twice and three times) at different stages of plant development on pepper variety Slonovo uvo (Superior, Velika Plana) in open field conditions. Extracts of fresh fruits were prepared with 80% methanol. Total phenolic content (TPC) was determined using the standard spectrophotometric Folin-Ciocalteu method. The obtained results are expressed as mg of ferulic acid equivalents (FAE) per g of fresh weight. TPC was in range from 0.51 to 2.31 mg/g FAE. The obtained preliminary results do not show a clear influence of used fertilizers on the increase of total phenolic content in peper fruits, so it is necessary to continue research in order to find an appropriate model of fertilizers use to improve the pepper fruits quality

Species of the genus Allium have great importance in human nutrition due wide range of therapeutic properties and great health benefits. Their nutritional value is primarily determined by the chemical composition of the edible parts. The nutritional quality of Allium crops is possible to improve through agronomic practices (plant nutrition and agrotechnic measures) by the process known as biofortification. In this paper, the effect of biofortification with different concentrations of selenium (0 g, 10 g, 20 g and 30 g per hectare) in open field condition on selected Allium species (Allium sativum var. saggitatum L.; A. fistulosum L.; A. ampeloprasum var. ampeloprasum L.; A. nutans L.; A. odorum L.; A. schoenoprasum L.) was investigated, with a goal to improve nutritional value of the edible parts. For this purpose 24 samples of fresh plant material were prepared and extracted with 80% methanol. Total phenolic content (TPC) was determined using the standard spectrophotometric Folin-Ciocalteu method. The obtained results are expressed as mg of ferulic acid equivalents (FAE) per g of fresh weight. TPC was in range from 0.36 to 2.60 mg/g FAE. The obtained research results indicate that TPC in the edible parts differs between species, as well as within the species, and depending on the applied dose of selenium. The obtained results indicate the necessity of determining the optimal doses of selenium in the process of biofortification, in order to obtain edible parts of Allium species with high nutritional value

    Get PDF
The modern lifestyle imposes the need to discover and introduce foodstuffs that have nutritional and medicinal value into the food chain. The genus Allium includes a great number of species. The most studied species are onion, garlic and leek, for which there is evidence of beneficial effects on human health. Investigation of other, rare grown species of this genus, offers the possibility of expanding the range of food to vegetable species with potentially enriched chemical composition. Bearing in mind that the antioxidant properties of food are an important parameterofits quality, this paper aimed to examine the content of hydroxycinnamic derivatives (HCAs), as natural antioxidants, in two Allium species - A. schoenoprasum (chives) and A. nutans (blue chives), grown under different foliar application of selenium - Se (0, 10, 20, 30 g per ha). The total HCAs content was determined by spectrophotometric method, measured the absorbance at 525 nm. The obtained results are expressed as mg equivalent of chlorogenic acid (CGAE) per g of fresh weight. HCAs was in range 0.18 to 0.39 mg/g CGAE for A. schoenoprasum, and from 0.18 to 0.94 mg/g CGAE for A. nutans
