Propuesta de triangulación de técnicas de credibilidad del testimonio (CBCA) en conjunto con el SEG de arce y fariña y el PCL-R de hare en agresores sexuales en el contexto colombiano

La siguiente investigación plantea una propuesta teórica para usar en conjunto las técnicas de credibilidad del testimonio (CBCA), el Sistema de Evaluación Global (SEG) y el PCL-R de Hare en agresores sexuales. Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica de la psicología forense, los agresores sexuales, parafilias, psicopatía, PCL-R, Credibilidad del testimonio y el SEG. En metodología se hizo un estudio de corte cualitativo con un diseño de investigación descriptivo y se recogió información a partir de un grupo de discusión. En los resultados se obtuvo que es de importancia antes de aplicar la propuesta revisar los documentos aportados al proceso, que se debe respetar el principio de no autoincriminación y que es de principal utilidad esta propuesta para evaluar a los agresores sexuales reincidentes especializados. Entre las conclusiones está que la propuesta puede ser utilizada en conjunto con otras pruebas psicotécnicas para aumentar su validez y confiabilidad, y que deben realizarse más investigaciones junto una validación y aplicación piloto a poblaciones con el fin de mejorar, desarrollar y perfeccionar la propuesta.The investigation makes a theoretical proposal by using the techniques of Witness Credibility (CBCA), Hare s PCL-R and Global Evaluation System (GES) in sexual aggressors. A bibliographical revision of the forensic psychology was made, along with sexual aggressors, paraphilias, psychopathy, PCL-R, Witness Credibility, and GES. It was made with a qualitative study with a descriptive investigation design while information was gathered by a discussion group. In results it was found that is if vital importance before applying the proposal, revising the documents brought to the process, also it was found that the no autoincrimination principle must be respected and most important, the principal utility of this proposal for the sexual specialized relapsing aggressors. In conclusions it is proposed that this investigation should be used among other psychometric tests in order to validity and reliability to be risen, and more investigations along with validations should be done so this proposal to be improved, developed and perfected.Psicólogo (a)Pregrad

Interregional Interdependence among Ecuadorian Provinces: An Input-Output Analysis

In this paper, we explore the structural characteristics of the interregional input-output system developed for Ecuador for the year 2007. As part of an ongoing project that aims to develop an interregional CGE model for the country, this database was developed under conditions of limited information. It provides the opportunity to better understand the spatial linkage structure associated with the national economy in the context of its 22 provinces, 15 sectors and 60 different products. This exploratory analysis is based on the description structural coefficients and the use of traditional input-output techniques. Finally, we further explore the spatial linkage structure by looking at the decomposition of final demand components. It is hoped that this exercise might result in a better appreciation of a broader set of dimensions that might improve our understanding of the integrated interregional economic system in Ecuador.

Characterization of the catalytic flexible loop in the dihydroorotase domain of the human multi-enzymatic protein CAD

The dihydroorotase (DHOase) domain of the multifunctional protein carbamoyl-phosphate synthetase 2, aspartate transcarbamoylase, and dihydroorotase (CAD) catalyzes the third step in the de novo biosynthesis of pyrimidine nucleotides in animals. The crystal structure of the DHOase domain of human CAD (huDHOase) revealed that, despite evolutionary divergence, its active site components are highly conserved with those in bacterial DHOases, encoded as monofunctional enzymes. An important element for catalysis, conserved from Escherichia coli to humans, is a flexible loop that closes as a lid over the active site. Here, we combined mutagenic, structural, biochemical, and molecular dynamics analyses to characterize the function of the flexible loop in the activity of CAD's DHOase domain. A huDHOase chimera bearing the E. coli DHOase flexible loop was inactive, suggesting the presence of distinctive elements in the flexible loop of huDHOase that cannot be replaced by the bacterial sequence. We pinpointed Phe-1563, a residue absolutely conserved at the tip of the flexible loop in CAD's DHOase domain, as a critical element for the conformational equilibrium between the two catalytic states of the protein. Substitutions of Phe-1563 with Ala, Leu, or Thr prevented the closure of the flexible loop and inactivated the protein, whereas substitution with Tyr enhanced the interactions of the loop in the closed position and reduced fluctuations and the reaction rate. Assessment of habitat quality and landscape connectivity for forest-dependent cracids in the Sierra Madre del Sur Mesoamerican biological corridor, Mexico

Assessing landscape connectivity allows us to identify critical areas that impede or facilitate the movement of organisms and their genes and to plan their conservation and management. In this article, we assessed landscape connectivity and ecological condition of the habitat patches of a highly biodiverse region in Chiapas, Mexico. We employed data of three cracid species with different characteristics in habitat use and mobility. The habitat map of each species was derived from a spatial intersection of the models of potential distribution and a high-resolution map of current land cover and land use. The ecological condition of vegetation types was evaluated using 75 field plots. Structure of landscape was estimated by fragmentation metrics, while functional connectivity was assessed using spatially explicit graph analysis. The extent of suitable habitat for Oreophasis derbianus, Penelopina nigra, and Penelope purpurascens correspond to 25%, 46%, and 55% of the study area (5,185.6 km2), respectively. Although the pine-oak forests were the most fragmented vegetation type, habitats of the three species were well connected, and only 4% to 9% of the fragments located on the periphery of the corridor had low connectivity. Landscape connectivity depends mainly on land uses with an intermediate and lower ecological condition (secondary forests and coffee agroforestry systems). Therefore, we suggest that in addition to promoting the improvement in connectivity in fragmented forests, conservation efforts should be aimed at preventing the conversion of mature forests into agricultural uses and maintaining agroforestry systems

Diseño de áreas de refugio temporal (ART) para ayuda humanitaria post-terremoto para el Distrito Metropolitano de Quito

Quito, besides being located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, is crossed by a major geological fault; in this context it may be classified as a high seismic hazard zone. This situation has been evidenced throughout history, since on several occasions the city was affected by earthquakes of different magnitudes and some of them caused deaths. The poor quality of existing buildings, caused by uncontrolled population growth experienced by the city in recent decades, has become another factor that increases the risk of its people in the case of an earthquake. The design of some temporary shelter areas along Quito, with all the basic services and the ability to remain operational after a severe seismic event to accommodate the population in need, is completely justified with this scenario. The present work aims to select the places to locate these areas and perform a special seismic-resistant design of the facility and its supply systems.La ciudad de Quito, además de estar ubicada en el Cinturón de Fuego del Pacífico, está atravesada por una falla geológica importante; en este contexto, puede ser catalogada como un lugar de alto peligro sísmico. Esta situación se ha podido evidenciar a lo largo de la historia, ya que en varias ocasiones la ciudad fue afectada por terremotos de distintas magnitudes y algunos de ellos causaron víctimas fatales. Otro factor que aumenta el riesgo de sus habitantes ante este tipo de eventos es la mala calidad de las construcciones existentes, provocada por el crecimiento demográfico descontrolado que ha experimentado la ciudad en las últimas décadas. Este escenario es justificativo suficiente para el diseño de algunas áreas de refugio temporal a lo largo del Distrito Metropolitano de Quito que cuenten con todos los servicios básicos y tengan la capacidad de mantenerse operativas después de un evento sísmico severo para albergar dignamente a la población que así lo requiera.
