Nonlinear fiber gyroscope for quantum metrology

We examine the performance of a nonlinear fiber gyroscope for improved signal detection beating the quantum limits of its linear counterparts. The performance is examined when the nonlinear gyroscope is illuminated by practical field states, such as coherent and quadrature squeezed states. En la sociedad podemos encontrar muchísimos comportamientos en todas las cosas que miramos en nuestro alrededor, todo está en constante cambio o transformación, en constante traslado o movimiento, y todas esas actividades y dinámicas situaciones se pueden tratar de representar por medio de esquemas, esquemas que representen aquello que miramos en nuestra vida cotidiana, y resuman en una forma sencilla las cosas complejas de nuestro entorno. A todo esto, anterior se le denomina patrones de comportamiento resumidos o plasmados en modelos matemáticos. En esta Tesis se hace un estudio de la “Zona Metropolitana del Valle de México”. Actualmente, es un área que ha ido en continuo crecimiento y expandiéndose cada vez más a otros estados como ahora lo es Hidalgo. El enfoque principal del tema es ahora conocer el número de egresados de cada nivel educativo en los municipios conurbados del estado de México específicamente, de allí se tiene como objetivo estudiar que variables sociales, demográficas financieras, económicas y demás áreas, influyen en el número de egresados de cada nivel educativo, Pre-Primaria, Primaria, Secundaria, Preparatoria y Profesional o técnico, y poder obtener de ellas pronósticos para años subsecuentes a aquellos de los que tenemos información y así de alguna manera brindar herramientas que sean útiles en la toma actual de decisiones. La investigación pues se centra en el estudio estadístico de egresados y causas que afectan o influyen en el número de los mismos en los municipios conurbados del estado de México.CONACy

Detachable high heel shoe construction

Thesis (S.B.)--Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, 2007."June 2007."Includes bibliographical references (leaf 30).The goal on this investigation was to develop a detachable high heel shoe construction that could enter the current high heel market. The impact of high heel shoes on women's fashion is enormous but there are associated issues of comfort and health with these shoes. This work aims to maintain the appealing aspects of a high heel shoe while adding a concealed mechanism to enable the heel to be easily removed to convert the shoe into a flat at the discretion of the user. The current solutions and products in the nearly 7 billion dollar a year women's shoe market are minimal. The prior arts of detachable heels fail to develop a simple comprehensive detachable high heel that can enter the market. A feasible and complete design that takes into account arch stiffness, heel removal, styling, and manufacturability is the goal of this work. This investigation deconstructed high heel shoes to learn and leverage the current high heel shoe infrastructure as a basis for adapting the shoe into a detachable high heel shoe construction. Three prototypes of the detachable high heel shoe were developed with a shoe assembly that consisted of a modified insole and a detachable heel that consisted of a dovetailed aluminum shank fastened to a high heel.(cont.) The prototypes were able to display the ability for the detachable high heel to maintain high heel stability, styling that is consistent with the industry, ease of use, a flat shoe and other critical functional requirements identified in the work. The construction was consistent with the current industry high heel infrastructure. The development of the detachable high heel construction displays the feasibility of such a product in a market where none exist. Este estudio analiza la eficiencia del USO del agua en los regadíos españoles. Se contraponen, pues, aquellos que están apoyados directamente por las ayudas PAC, por la utilización de energías subvencionadas y protecciones arancelarias frente a terceros países, con los hortofrutícolas que compiten libremente en los mercados internacionales, sin contar para ello con ningún tipo de paraguas protector. Estos últimos destacan por sus repercusiones socioeconómicas positivas para el conjunto de la economía española

Agronomical indicators for determination of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) tolerance to drought

Lately, water shortage has caused 50% losses in potato yields in several Central American countries. Knowledge and use of more tolerant potato varieties are a critical element to increase production and yields under stressing conditions. The experiments were developed at the Center for Tropical Crops Research (INIVIT), between December 2014, and March 2015. Ten plots were planted, including different varieties. Half of them (5) were not irrigated for 20 days, starting on the 50th day after plantation (drought stress period). Irrigation was resumed on the 70th day. The Stress Susceptibility Index (SSI), Stress Tolerance Index (STI), Tolerance Index (TOL), Mean Productivity (MP), and Yield Stability Index (YSI). The Atlas and Maranca varieties had the lowest values for SSI (0.67 and 0.61, respectively), and the highest values for STI (0.79 and 0.81, respectively). The highest MP (19.92 t/ha) was achieved by Atlas. The highest YSI values were observed in Maranca and Atlas (81.07 and 79.29, respectively)
