    Le but de cette thèse est de développer des capteurs sur la base des tags RFID, des technologies et matériaux disponibles au Vietnam afin de contribuer à résoudre la problématique du contrôle de la qualité des produits alimentaires. En effet la technologie RFID s est affirmée en importance pour ses applications dans de nombreux domaines. Dans ce contexte, l identification des produits alimentaires expirés, sans les endommager, est une orientation de recherche très prometteuse. Un tag RFID UHF passif peut aussi être composé de plusieurs puces et plusieurs antennes, chaque couple puce/antenne conçu pour travailler sur un intervalle déterminé de valeur de permittivité. Donc, à partir de l ensemble des permittivités définies pour chaque couple puce/antenne et les signaux réfléchis vers le lecteur, nous pourrons mesurer la permittivité de l objet tracé. Ainsi la connaissance de la permittivité des aliments et la conception spécifique de l antenne, nous développerons un tag capteur de type "multi puce/antenne" qui sera utilisé comme un capteur sans fil pour la détection de la qualité des alimentsIn recent years, RFID technology has established itself in importance, particularly for applications in the civil sector. In this context, identification of expired products without damage is a very promising direction of research. However, the price of these sensors is still too high especially compared to living in Vietnam. A passive UHF RFID tag chip can include many antennae and many chips on a same substrate in which each pair of chip/antenna is designed to be activated on a determined interval value of permittivity. So from designed permittivities for each pair of chip/antenna and the reflected signals to the reader, we can define the value of permittivity of the object that is labelled with RFID tag. From the characterization of food permittivity and the background of antenna design, we developped a sensor tag "multi chip/antenna" to be used as a wireless sensor for the detection of food quality.     Survival Prediction of Initial Blood pH for Nontraumatic Out-of-hospital Cardiac Arrest Patients in the Emergency Department

    SummaryBackgroundMost nontraumatic out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (NTOHCA) patients who fail in prehospital resuscitation receive continued cardiopulmonary resuscitation in the emergency department (ED). Initial blood pH, which can be assessed rapidly in the ED, was examined to see whether it is a strong survival predictor for these patients.MethodsA 1-year retrospective study included consecutive 225 NTOHCA patients at a medical center in northern Taiwan who presented through the emergency medical services system. On arrival at the ED, these patients received continued cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and their initial blood pH data were assessed.ResultsThe pH value was positively correlated with variables such as return of spontaneous circulation, witnessed arrest, short prehospital time (≤20 minutes), and survival. The best cut-off value of initial blood pH, revealed by the receiver operating characteristic curve, was 7.068. The lowest pH value of the survivors was 6.856. The results of logistic regression model analysis shows that the odds ratios of survival was 10.0 (95% confidence interval [CI], 2.1–47.7) for patients with initial blood pH ≥ 7.068, 5.3 (95% CI, 1.48–18.9) for those with nonasystole rhythm, 4.0 (95% CI, 1.1–14.8) for those with prehospital time ≤20 minutes, and 9.1 (95% CI, 2.3–35.2) for those without NaHCO3 administration during resuscitation, respectively.ConclusionA cut-off value of an initial blood pH of 7.068 can serve as a predictor for survival among NTOHCA patients. In addition, patients whose initial blood pH is lower than 6.85 in the ED may not survive until hospital discharge

    The production of electronic circuits and devices is limited by current manufacturing methods that limit both the form and potentially the performance of these systems. Additive Manufacturing (AM) is a technology that has been shown to provide cross sectoral manufacturing industries with significant geometrical freedom. A research domain known as Multi-Functional Additive Manufacturing (MFAM) in its infancy looks to couple the positive attributes of AM with application in the electronics sector could have a significant impact on the development of new products, however there are significant hurdles to overcome. This paper reports on the single step MFAM of three dimensional (3D) electronic circuitry within a polymeric structure using a combination of conductive and non-conductive materials within a single material jetting based AM system. The basis of this breakthrough is a study of the optical absorption regions of a silver nanoparticle (AgNP) conductive ink which lead to a novel method to rapidly process and sinter silver nanoparticle inks in ambient conditions using simple UV radiation contemporaneously with UV-curing of deposited polymeric structures

    Loss-of-function variants in CUL3 cause a syndromic neurodevelopmental disorder

    Purpose De novovariants inCUL3(Cullin-3 ubiquitin ligase) have been strongly associated with neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs), but no large case series have been reported so far. Here we aimed to collect sporadic cases carrying rare variants inCUL3,describe the genotype-phenotype correlation, and investigate the underlying pathogenic mechanism.MethodsGenetic data and detailed clinical records were collected via multi-center collaboration. Dysmorphic facial features were analyzed using GestaltMatcher. Variant effects on CUL3 protein stability were assessed using patient-derived T-cells.ResultsWe assembled a cohort of 35 individuals with heterozygousCUL3variants presenting a syndromic NDD characterized by intellectual disability with or without autistic features. Of these, 33 have loss-of-function (LoF) and two have missense variants.CUL3LoF variants in patients may affect protein stability leading to perturbations in protein homeostasis, as evidenced by decreased ubiquitin-protein conjugatesin vitro. Specifically, we show that cyclin E1 (CCNE1) and 4E-BP1 (EIF4EBP1), two prominent substrates of CUL3, fail to be targeted for proteasomal degradation in patient-derived cells.ConclusionOur study further refines the clinical and mutational spectrum ofCUL3-associated NDDs, expands the spectrum of cullin RING E3 ligase-associated neuropsychiatric disorders, and suggests haploinsufficiency via LoF variants is the predominant pathogenic mechanism

    Control of crystalline volume and nano crystal grain size in nanocrystalline silicon thin film deposited by PECVD

    Application of the radio frequency plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (RF-PECVD) technique was studied to fabricate amorphous and nanocrystalline silicon (a-Si and nc-Si) thin films for photovoltaic devices at substrate temperature of 200 °C. Amorphous-crystalline transition of silicon thin films in working conditions of PECVD system was shown as a function of deposition parameters, i.e., dilution ratio of silane (SiH4) in hydrogen, total gas pressure during deposition and RF excitation power density. The crystalline volume as well as grain size of nanocrystalline silicon films could be successfully controlled by tuning those deposition parameters. Micro Raman scattering spectroscopy and spectroscopic ellipsometry (SE) methods were used to characterize the structure and crystallization of the deposited silicon thin films. We could make nc-Si thin films with various crystalline volumes. Nc-Si grain size was also controlled and was in the range of 3–5 nm

    Gold nanoparticles created by rapid thermal annealing process applied to thin film solar cell

    In this work, the formation of gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) was studied. A gold thin film was first deposited by E-beam Evaporation method followed by rapid thermal annealing (RTA) to create nanoparticles with many different sizes and shapes. The localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) effect was also determined. By proper engineering of these metallo-dielectric structures, light can be concentrated and “folded” into a thin semiconductor layer, thereby the absorption can be increased. This approach provides a new development for improving light trapping in thin-film solar cells (TFSCs)

    Quality of Bread Supplemented with Antrodia salmonea-Fermented Grains

    Fermented grains of buckwheat, oat, embryo rice and wheat, which were prepared by solid-state fermentation with Antrodia salmonea, and the mycelium was used to substitute 7 % of wheat flour to make bread. No difference in proximate composition, texture profile and contents of non-volatile taste components was observed among bread samples. White bread and bread supplemented with mycelium and fermented grains looked different. Bread supplemented with fermented grains had similar thermal properties, which differed from those of white bread and bread supplemented with mycelium. Bread supplemented with fermented grains contained substantial mass fractions (on dry mass basis) of adenosine (0.92–1.96 μg/g), ergosterol (24.53–30.12 μg/g), ergothioneine (2.16–3.18 μg/g) and γ-aminobutyric acid (2.20–2.45 μg/g). In addition, bread supplemented with mycelium contained lovastatin (0.43 μg/g). White bread and bread supplemented with fermented grains had similar sensory results. Overall, fermented grains could be incorporated into bread to provide beneficial effects

    Salmonella Aortic Aneurysm: A Patient with Nonspecific Type of Low-Back and Abdominal Pain

    Infected aortic aneurysms are uncommon. Their nonspecific clinical symptoms make them easy for doctors to miss, and then severe complications and high mortality come weeks later. We present a 73-year-old man who had nonspecific low-back pain and was found to have infectious aortitis with positive culture of Salmonella. His condition changed from a non-dilating aorta with periaortic air to a nearly ruptured pseudoaneurysm over 1 month. After receiving a grafting surgery with antibiotic therapy, the patient was discharged under stable conditions. Relevant literature is also reviewed
