Suppilo-tilausjärjestelmän soveltuvuus HoReCa-markkinoille ostajan näkökulmasta

Tämän opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli selvittää Suppilog Oy:n kehittämän pilvipalveluna toimivan Suppilo-kaupankäyntijärjestelmän soveltuvuutta HoReCa-markkinoille ostajan näkökulmasta. Tavoitteena oli antaa tietoa järjestelmän soveltuvuudesta ja esittää kehitysehdotuksia tulevaisuuden laajentamisen kannalta Suppilog Oy:n kehityksen taustalla on ollut maahantuojien, markkinoijien ja valmistajien asemien vahvistaminen toimitusketjussa. Suppilon toimintamalli yksinkertaisuudessaan on olla yksi markkinapaikka joka sisältää useita eri yrityksiä. Ostajalla on mahdollisuus ostaa kootusti yhden ohjelman kautta usealta eri tavarantoimittajalta, laajentaa tuotevalikoimiaan helposti ja hyödyntää tarjouksia tehokkaasti. Järjestelmän päätoiminta-alueena on ollut apteekkiala ja nyt laajenemista tapahtuu HoReCa-markkinoille alkoholikanavaan. Opinnäytetyö koostui kahdesta eri osasta. Teoriaosassa käsiteltiin b-2-b- ja sähköistä kaupan-käyntiä yleisellä tasolla, mikä syventyi b-to-b ostotoimintaan, yritysten ostoprosessiin ja ostajien rooleihin. Lisäksi perehdyttiin alkoholikanavaan liittyviin säädöksiin ja vaatimuksiin. Tietoperustassa määriteltiin myös työhön liittyviä käyttäjälähtöisyyden osa-alueita. Toisessa osassa Suppilon kehittäminen HoReCa-markkinoille toteutettiin työn toiminnallinen osuus. Siinä empiirinen aineisto kerättiin etnografisia tutkimusmenetelmiä hyväksi käyttäen. Järjestelmän toimintoihin tutustuttiin koeasiakkuutta havainnoimalla. Seuraavana suoritettiin teemahaastattelu, jolloin saatiin tietoa kokeneelta järjestelmän apteekkikanavan käyttäjältä. Järjestelmän toimivuutta testattiin paperiprototyypeillä think aloud-menetelmän avulla, joka toteutettiin viidellä testaajalla. Opinnäytetyön tuloksena todettiin Suppilon soveltuvan sellaisenaan HoReCa-markkinoille ja lisäksi käyttäjälähtöisen tutkimisen tuotoksena saatiin kehittämisideoita, joiden avulla järjestelmän käytettävyyttä voitaisiin parantaa entisestään ja käyttäjän saama kokemus olisi parempi. Järjestelmän vaikutus yrityksen ostotoimintoihin mahdollistaa tuotteiden kilpailutuksen, tarjouksien ja kampanjoiden tehokkaan hyödyntämisen sekä ostajan roolista riippumattoman käytön eli käyttäjänä voi toimia kuka tahansa henkilökunnasta, jolla on mahdollisuus tehdä tilaus.Suppilo Trading System’s Feasibility within the HoReCa Markets from the Buyer’s Point of View The purpose of this thesis was to examine Suppilog Ltd’s cloud service Suppilo trading system’s feasibility within the HoReCa markets from the buyer’s point of view. The objective was to provide information about system feasibility and present development ideas for the future extension. Suppilo Ltd’s development idea has been to give a stronger position to importers, marketers and manufacturers in the supply chain. Suppilo’s operational model is to be a marketplace which includes several different companies. The buyer has an opportunity to purchase collectively through one program from several different suppliers, to expand easily their product range and to discover efficient ways to exploit offers. The system’s main area has been pharmacy industry and now it is expanding to the alcohol sales within the HoReCa market. The thesis consists of two sections. The theoretical section covers b-to-b and e-commerce in general, which is comprised of b-to-b purchasing, and it corporates the purchasing process and the roles of buyers. In addition, alcohol regulations and requirements related to alcohol were examined. In the knowledge base work-related user-oriented aspects were also defined. In the second, functional section of the thesis the Suppilo system was developed to the HoReCa markets. The empirical data was collected by using ethnographic research methods. Acquiring knowledge about the system functions was implemented by observing. The second conducted method was theme interview to obtain information from an experienced user of the pharmacy channel. The system was tested on paper by prototyping with the think aloud method which was carried out with five testers. The result of this study indicates that the Suppilo system is suitable for the HoReCa markets and in addition based on the user-oriented research output, new development ideas to help improve system usability were created so that the user experience would be better. The system affects corporate purchasing and it gives possibilities to competitive bidding, efficient use of promotions and campaigns. It is also a user friendly program, because the user can be anyone from the staff who has an opportunity to place an order

Nontargeted Metabolite Profiling of Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (iPSCs) Derived Neural Cells: Insights Into Mechanisms of Brain Diseases

Since the discovery that introduction of four specific genes encoding transcription factors convert mature human somatic cells into induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), there has been an enormous increase in the applications of iPSC technologies to medical sciences, especially in modeling human diseases. In this review, we summarize recent advances in applying human iPSC reprogramming to generate patient-specific neural subtypes in order to reveal molecular pathways affected in various neurodegenerative diseases. Metabolites provide a functional readout of various cellular states enabling identification of biomarker candidates for early diagnosis, segregation of patient cohorts, and to follow-up disease progression or disease responses to novel therapies. With emerging technologies, that is, mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance applications to metabolomics and various software solutions of bioinformatics, it has become possible to measure thousands of metabolites simultaneously. These fascinating new techniques provide a powerful tool for setting scientific hypotheses and linking cellular pathways to biological mechanism. Asunnottomuuden monet kasvot

Tämä tutkimus perustuu Espoon Diakoniasäätiön tutkimus- ja kehittämishankkeeseen. Lähtökohtana oli havainto siitä, että asunnottomuuden taustalla ovat yhä useammin sopivien asuntojen puutteen lisäksi puutteet asumisen taidoissa erityisesti syrjäytymisvaarassa olevilla ryhmillä. Säätiöllä on tukiasuntoja sekä asumisyhteisöjä mielenterveys- ja päihdekuntoutujille. Hankkeen aikana kehitettiin asumisen tukipalvelumalli TUPA, jonka avulla tukea voidaan viedä mihin tahansa asuntoon. Lisäksi tutkimus tarjoaa uutta tietoa asunnottomuuden luonteesta sekä tuetun asumisen tilasta ja tarpeista

Tietohallinnon haasteet kasvavassa ja kehittyvässä toimintaympäristössä – Toimintatutkimus suomalaisen PK-yrityksen kasvusta globaaliksi toimijaksi

Tutkimuksen tavoitteena on kuvata suomalaisen PK-yrityksen kasvamista globaa- liksi toimijaksi. Tapahtunut kasvu on tarkoittanut case-yrityksen kohdalla liike- vaihdon ja henkilöstömäärän kasvun lisäksi myös toimipaikkojen määrän kasvua ja organisaatiorakenteen monimutkaistumista. Näiden muutosten perusteella ja ta- pahtuneiden muutoskohtien avulla on löydettävissä yrityksen toimintaa kuvaavia vaiheita, joita ovat alkuvaihe, kasvuvaihe ja kypsä vaihe. Näiden vaiheiden jälkeen tulee vielä neljäs vaihe, eli uusiutumisvaihe tai laskeva vaihe. Tämän neljännen vaiheen suunta riippuu yrityksen kyvystä uusiutua ja kehittyä vastaamaan uusiin tuleviin haasteisiin joita aikaisempaa globaalimpi toiminta tuo tullessaan. Tapahtuneilla muutoksilla on ollut myös vaikutusta tietohallintoon. Tämä tieto- hallinnossa tapahtunut muutos onkin tämän tutkimuksen ydin, eli mitä haasteita ja vaatimuksia Trafotekin tietohallinto on kohdannut toiminnan eri vaiheissa, ja onko tietohallinto pystynyt omalta osaltaan vastaamaan näihin vaatimuksiin. Toiminnan alkuvaiheessa tietotekniikalla ei ollut suurtakaan strategista ja liike- toimintaa tukevaa roolia, ja tietohallinto pystyikin vastaamaan liiketoiminnan vaa- timuksiin. Tässä vaiheessa Trafotekissa ei ollut erillistä tietohallintoa, vaan tieto- tekniset työt hoidettiin muiden työtehtävien ohessa. Tietotekniset tehtävät olivat lähinnä tukitoimintoihin liittyviä tehtäviä. Kasvuvaiheessa tietotekniikan merkitys kasvoi, ja Trafotekiin tuli tarvetta luoda erillinen tietotekninen työtehtävä. Tässä toiminnan vaiheessa kyvykkyydet ja kypsyys eivät kuitenkaan kehittyneet halu- tulla tavalla, sillä kaikki käytössä oleva resursointi käytettiin edelleen päivittäisiin tukitoimintoihin, kehittämisen sijaan. Sama kehittymättömyys vaivasi toiminnan kypsässä vaiheessa. Tässä vaiheessa toki alettiin jo ymmärtää, että tietohallinnolla on strateginen rooli, joka tukee liiketoimintaa sen tavoitteiden saavuttamisessa. Tehty tutkimus tukee näkemystä siitä, että myös tietohallinnon kehittäminen on kokonaisvaltaista kehittämistä, jossa pitää huomioida toimintaa tukevia kyvyk- kyyksiä kaikissa toiminnan vaiheissa. Yrityksen kasvaessa myös tietohallinnon tu- lee kasvaa ja kehittyä. Osa tämän tutkimuksen tapahtumista oli tapahtunut ennen tämän tutkimustyön varsinaista aloittamista, eli ne kuvataan ja selitetään jälkijättöisesti. Kyseessä on toimintatutkimus, joka ajoittuu vuosiin 1996–2014. In the case of Trafotek growth has meant the growth of net sales and num- ber of employees, as well as an increase in the number of locations and the growing complexity of the organization structure. The means of implementing changes in Trafotek’s operations can be divided into three different phases or steps. These steps are: the initial stage, growth stage and mature stage. Following these is a fourth step. This fourth stage of the process depends on the company's ability to renew itself and evolve to meet the new chal- lenges, which will be brought on in the future by the earlier global operations. This stage of the process can be either relapse or reduction. The changes have also had an effect on information management, which is the core of this study. What are the challenges and demands facing Trafotek’s IT at the different phases of operations? Are they able to help meet these demands? At the initial stage IT did not have any major strategic or business support roles and was able to respond to the business operations and requirements. At this stage Tra- fotek did not have a separate IT department and IT work was treated as an addition to their regular work. IT tasks were tasks related mainly to support functions. Dur- ing the growing phase the importance of IT grew and Trafotek needed its own separate IT department. At this stage the operation capabilities and maturity, how- ever, did not develop in the desired way because all valid resources were allocated for daily support activities rather than development. The same underdevelopment affected the mature stage of operation. At this stage, of course, it was already be- ginning to be understood that IT plays a strategic role in supporting a business to achieve its objectives. This study supports the view that the development of IT is a holistic development, which must be taken into account to support operation ca- pabilities. As a company grows it is necessary for IT management to also grow and develop. Some of the events in this study had taken place before the actual start of this research, meaning they are described and explained afterward. This is an action research covering the years 1996-2014. Makro-ohjelmoinnin koulutusmateriaali Fanuc-ohjaukselle : opiskelijan opas

Tämä opinnäytetyö sai alkunsa talvella 2010 20-sivuisesta pikaoppaasta. Valmis teos on yli 50-sivuinen ja sisältä erittäin laajan koulutusmateriaalin makro-ohjelmoinnin kiehtovaan maailmaan. Työ tehtiin yhteistyössä Salon seudun aikuisopiston ja Espoon ammattiopiston kanssa. Yhteistyössä oli lisäksi mukana salolainen alihankintakonepaja Halikko Tools Oy, jossa kaikki ohjelmat testattiin käytännön töissä. Tätä koulutusmateriaalia voidaan käyttää sekä nuorten että aikuisten koneistajan koulutuksessa. Lisäksi sitä voidaan hyödyntää ammattikorkeakouluissa, esim. koneistukseen liittyvien kurssien lisämateriaalina. Koulutusmateriaalia voidaan hyödyntää koneistuksen ammattilaisten täydennyskoulutuksien pohjana. Materiaali sopii hyvin myös itseopiskeluun. Lähtökohtana on kuitenkin se, että kaikki kursseille osallistujat hallitsevat vähintään FANUC-ohjelmoinnin perusteet. Tätä koulutusmateriaalia voidaan käyttää niin sorvauksessa kuin koneistuksessakin, kunhan käytettävässä koneessa on FANUC 10 tai siitä uudempi ohjaus. Koulutusmateriaalissa käsitellään kaikki tärkeimmät muuttujat, kuten paikallismuuttujat ja yleismuuttujat sekä niiden käyttö. Materiaali sisältää paljon hyviä esimerkkejä ja makro-ohjelmia lauseittain selitettynä. Siinä on mukana valmiita harjoitustehtäviä ja työkuvia, joihin makroja voidaan hyödyntää. Opettajan versiossa on kaikkiin harjoituksiin tarvittavat makro-ohjelmat ja niiden käyttöohjeet. Siinä olevia makroja voidaan hyödyntää sellaisenaan suoraan tuotantoon.I started this thesis in winter 2010. In the beginning it was just a brief quick start guide. The starting point is however that you have the basic information for FANUC programming. This educational material can be used for turning and milling but the machine that you use must be FANUC 10 or more modern control. Educational material go through all the most significant variables and their use. The material includes a lot of good examples. Exercises are quite easy. In addition, the material includes ready macro-programs which are explained in detail. If you order the teachers version you get the same exercises with all the necessary macro-programs and instructions for use. You can use them directly for production. All involved in the programs are tested and revised

The iPSC perspective on schizophrenia

Over a decade of schizophrenia research using human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived neural models has provided substantial data describing neurobiological characteristics of the disorder in vitro. Simultaneously, translation of the results into general mechanistic concepts underlying schizophrenia pathophysiology has been trailing behind. Given that modeling brain function using cell cultures is challenging, the gap between the in vitro models and schizophrenia as a clinical disorder has remained wide. In this review, we highlight reproducible findings and emerging trends in recent schizophrenia-related iPSC studies. We illuminate the relevance of the results in the context of human brain development, with a focus on processes coinciding with critical developmental periods for schizophrenia.Peer reviewe

Value Assessment of e-Government Service from Municipality Perspective

Value assessment of e-government services remains a challenging task. In this study, we apply a value creation model of electronic business and value for money assessment approach of e-government service in an attempt to better understand value creation from the municipality perspective. By conducting semi-structured interviews and analysis of e-government service data we investigate how digital service creates value in public services focusing on the municipality perspective. We present the identified sources of value and the indicators of value that could be derived from the analysis of data from the service. We discuss the complementary findings from performing value assessment using e-commerce and e-government models, the limitations of conducting value assessment of e-government services and performing financial analysis, and conclude with directions for future research.

An Activity Theory Perspective on Creating a New Digital Government Service in Finland

Digitalization of government services is a central goal in many countries. At policy-making level, digital government services are often expected to simultaneously reduce cost and provide citizens with better and more versatile services. Development of new digital government services, however, often involves companies, which typically have differences in their approach to the development and implementation of new digital services compared to the public sector. This study applies activity theory as a lens to identify the similarities and differences between the private and public sector in the development and implementation of a new government digital service. The aim is to identify the contradictions that can lead to expansive learning in the activity system encompassing a national level digital government service for the social welfare and healthcare of citizens in Finland
