Presentado en EDUHEM 2018 - VIII International conference on intercultural education and International conference on transcultural health: The Value Of Education And Health For A Global,Transcultural World, Cognitive-Crcs.The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between physical condition level, quality of life related to health and the degree of depression of a sample of people over 60 years old that engage physical activity in social centers of Huelva. A total of 66 elderly people aged between 60 and 87 years with an average age of 69.71 (SD=6.1) was evaluated. Of these, 80.3% were women (n=53) and 19.7% male (n=13). The results indicate that strength has a very significant correlation with Physical Role, Physical Component, Social Function, General Health, Emotional Role and Vitality (p<.005) and a significant correlation with Body Pain and Mental Component (p<.05). Statistically significant differences are observed between strength and normal and severe depression categories (F(2)=4.286; p=.018). Relevant conclusions of the investigation found that strength is the only physical quality that correlates with the two major components of health related quality of life, Physical Component (PCS) and Mental Component (MCS); and elderly people with severe depression levels have lower strength values than older people without depression

    Get PDF

    Towards next generation coordination infrastructures

Coordination infrastructures play a central role in the engineering of multiagent systems. Since the advent of agent technology, research on coordination infrastructures has produced a significant number of infrastructures with varying features. In this paper, we review the the state-of-the-art coordination infrastructures with the purpose of identifying open research challenges that next generation coordination infrastructures should address. Our analysis concludes that next generation coordination infrastructures must address a number of challenges: (i) to become socially aware, by facilitating human interaction within a MAS; (ii) to assist agents in their decision making by providing decision support that helps them reduce the scope of reasoning and facilitates the achievement of their goals; and (iii) to increase openness to support on-line, fully decentralised design and execution. Furthermore, we identify some promising approaches in the literature, together with the research issues worth investigating, to cope with such challenges. © Cambridge University Press, 2015.The work presented in this paper has been partially funded by projects EVE (TIN2009-14702-C02-01), AT (CSD2007-0022), and the Generalitat of Catalunya grant 2009-SGR-1434Peer Reviewe

Historic structural conditions from colonialism, power political structures coming from franquismo, and current processes of capital globalization are factors explaining that Equatorial Guinea has become a postcolonial country expelling refugees and migrants to is former colonial metropole (Spain) since its independence in 1968. This migratory movement is an example in which we can observe how postcolonial structural conditions linking sending and receiving countries and social networks affect current refugees and migrants’ dynamics as well as the development of postcolonial transnational relationships. Based on ethnographic research done with refugees and migrants from Equatorial Guinea settled in the Madrid metropolitan region, this article describes and analyzes how these factors affect their modes of incorporation and adaptation to this host metropolitan area while maintaining social and cultural relationships with their home societies. Historic structural conditions from colonialism, power political structures coming from franquismo, and current processes of capital globalization are factors explaining that Equatorial Guinea has become a postcolonial country expelling refugees and migrants to is former colonial metropole (Spain) since its independence in 1968. This paper evaluates the impact of inter-speaker and inter-session variability on the development of a silent speech interface (SSI) based on electromyographic (EMG) signals from the facial muscles. The final goal of the SSI is to provide a communication tool for Spanish-speaking laryngectomees by generating audible speech from voiceless articulation. However, before moving on to such a complex task, a simpler phone classification task in different modalities regarding speaker and session dependency is performed for this study. These experiments consist of processing the recorded utterances into phone-labeled segments and predicting the phonetic labels using only features obtained from the EMG signals. We evaluate and compare the performance of each model considering the classification accuracy. Results show that the models are able to predict the phonetic label best when they are trained and tested using data from the same session. The accuracy drops drastically when the model is tested with data from a different session, although it improves when more data are added to the training data. Similarly, when the same model is tested on a session from a different speaker, the accuracy decreases. This suggests that using larger amounts of data could help to reduce the impact of inter-session variability, but more research is required to understand if this approach would suffice to account for inter-speaker variability as well. This research was funded by Agencia Estatal de Investigación grant number ref.PID2019-108040RB-C21/AEI/10.13039/50110001103

The aim of this study was to analyze the current situation of training outdoor activities as Physical Education teachers.
