Butterflies in tropical dry forest fragment at Montes of Maria (Colombia)

1 recurso en línea (páginas 35-45).The richness of diurnal butterflies in the Montes de Maria (Serranía de Coraza) was characterized using linear transects of 600 m. long. Inside each transects eight circular plots of 15 m of radius were established. To collected butterflies, we used entomological network and Van Someren Rydon traps. To compare the composition, abundance and uniformity of the species in each transect and to establish if the samples were significant, range-abundance curves were performed. In addition, to calculated the expected number of species curve of rarefaction and extrapolation-interpolation were made. In total, 301 individuals were collected belongs to 4 families, 13 subfamilies, 22 tribes, 44 genera and 55 species. Nymphalidae have the highest abundance (235) and richness (37), while Biblidinae (120 individuals) and Hamadryas februa (56 individuals) were more abundant subfamily and species. Results suggest that tropical dry forests of Coraza, despite the anthropic impact, have a great diversity butterflies’ species. Herein we show the importance of following studying the butterfly composition and diversity that allows, not only know the structure of these communities, also to increase the knowledge inside tropical dry forest entomofauna of Serrania Coraza reserve.La riqueza de las mariposas diurnas en los Montes de María (Serranía de Coraza), fue caracterizada a través de tres transectos lineales de 600 m. Ocho parcelas circulares de 15 m de radio se emplearon al interior de cada parcela, recolectando los especímenes con red entomológica y trampas Van Someren Rydon. Se realizaron curvas de rango-abundancia para comparar la composición, abundancia y uniformidad de las especies en cada transecto; además el número esperado de especies fue calculado a través de una curva de rarefacción y extrapolación-interpolación. En total se recolectaron 301 individuos agrupados en 4 familias, 13 subfamilias, 22 tribus, 44 géneros y 55 especies. Nymphalidae presentó la mayor abundancia (235) y riqueza (37); mientras que Biblidinae (120 individuos) y Hamadryas februa (56 individuos) son la subfamilia y especie más abundantes. Los resultados sugieren que los bosques secos de Coraza, a pesar de su degradación por las actividades antrópicas, poseen gran riqueza de mariposas. Este estudio demuestra la importancia de seguir realizando estudios de composición de mariposas que permitan conocer no solo la estructura de estas comunidades, sino también para incrementar el conocimiento de la entomofauna de los bosques secos dentro de la reserva forestal Serranía de Coraza.Bibliografia: páginas 43-45

Leptophlebiidae (Insecta: Ephemeroptera) from Gorgona Island National Natural Park (Tropical Eastern Pacific, Colombia) with the description of two new species

Gorgona National Natural Park comprises Gorgona and Gorgonilla Islands, located in the Colombian Pacific at 35 km from mainland. A large-scale study was conducted in Gorgona including samples from benthos and aereal nets and traps during five fieldworks. We here focus on the family Leptophlebiidae, describing two new species and giving data of four additional species. Terpides iguapoga sp. n. is described and illustrated from nymphs and adults, and can be characterized by the following characters, in the nymph: fore trochanter and femur with row of strong spine-like setae on inner margin, gills with blackish tracheae, posterolateral projections present on terga VI and VIII–IX; in the adult: upper portion of eyes orangeish white, forewing membrane hyaline tinged with yellowish around crossveins and marginal intercalary veins, genitalia with penes abruptly narrowing on distal third. Thraulodes insular sp. n. is described from nymphs and adults and diagnosed as follows, in the nymph: abdominal gills with narrow lamellae, femora with black streak near apex; in the imago: forewing costal area basal to bulla without crossveins, a spot and a band on femora, terga II–VI translucent white, terga VII–X darker, posterior margin of subgenital plate triangular, penes spines short and robust. We give new geographic records for four additional species: Farrodes caribbianus, Farrodes roundsi, Hagenulopsis esmeralda and Hagenulopsis zunigae. Ecological data and distributional maps are provided. Leptophlebiidae presents a reduced diversity in relation to mainland; in general the species recorded show a geographic relation to the Chocoan-Caribbean and Andean mayfly faunas.Fil: Zuñiga, Maria del Carmen. Balance de 25 años de jurisprudencia de la Corte Constitucional

La Corte Constitucional de Colombia ha tenido un importante impacto en la vida social, cultural y política del país, a tal punto que, desde su creación, la jurisprudencia de este tribunal se ha convertido en un referente mundial acerca de las diversas materias sobre las que se ha pronunciado . Este libro presenta un balance de la jurisprudencia que durante sus primeros veinticinco años la Corte ha expedido. Con este fin, el magistrado Luis Guillermo Guerrero Pérez y los magistrados auxiliares Miguel Polo Rosero y Claudia Escobar García recogen los trabajos de expertos nacionales e internacionales, funcionarios del Estado y Miembros de la sociedad civil que se presentaron en el XII Encuentro de la Jurisdicción Constitucional, realizado en la ciudad de San Juan de Pasto entre el 27 y el 30 de septiembre de 2017. The Research Journey as a Challenge Towards New Trends

Este título, sugestivo por los impactos durante la situación de la Covid 19 en el mundo, y que en Colombia lastimosamente han sido muy críticos, permiten asumir la obligada superación de tensiones sociales, políticas, y económicas; pero sobre todo científicas y tecnológicas. Inicialmente, esto supone la existencia de una capacidad de la sociedad colombiana por recuperar su estado inicial después de que haya cesado la perturbación a la que fue sometida por la catastrófica pandemia, y superar ese anterior estado de cosas ya que se encontraban -y aún se encuentran- muchos problemas locales mal resueltos, medianamente resueltos, y muchos sin resolver: es decir, habrá que rediseñar y fortalecer una probada resiliencia social existente - producto del prolongado conflicto social colombiano superado parcialmente por un proceso de paz exitoso - desde la tecnociencia local; como lo indicaba Markus Brunnermeier - economista alemán y catedrático de economía de la Universidad de Princeton- en su libro The Resilient Society…La cuestión no es preveerlo todo sino poder reaccionar…aprender a recuperarse rápido.This title, suggestive of the impacts during the Covid 19 situation in the world, and which have unfortunately been very critical in Colombia, allows us to assume the obligatory overcoming of social, political, and economic tensions; but above all scientific and technological.
