An algebraic analysis using Matrix Padé Approximation to improve the choice of certain parameter in Scalar Component Models

This paper presents an algebraic analysis using Matrix Padé Aproximation to improve the identification stage of the proposal in [6] on Scalar Component Models, specifically as it refers to the choice of a parameter they denote h. The original methodology in [6] is based on the construction and interpretation of a table whose elements are related to the singular value zero of certain relevant matrices in the process. We propose the alternative use of what we call a Ranks Table and the sure overall orders concept instead of the so-called overall orders. Analysis of the critical attitude of university social sciences students toward the use of computing software

This research is in the context of university mathematics education for social sciences students, in particular, in the fields of economics, business, accounting and finance. It arises from the observed deficiency in the training of students that leads them to trust the accuracy of results obtained through any specialized and widely recognized mathematical software. Some of them know that the software can be mistaken, however they believe that it will only occur in exercises at a far higher level than that affecting them, meaning those involving strictly scientific areas. The research confirms that this blind trust is true, and justifies why they should have a critical attitude toward the use of software at any level. It also provides one of multiple answers to the question that some of them ask: why devote class time to the methods and certain steps in the algorithms if the computer can solve the exercises

Este artículo propone y justifica el juego motriz como herramienta metodológica para niños y niñas con síndrome de Down. El juego motriz fomenta un estilo de vida saludable basado en la actividad física y el deporte y, además, favorece el desarrollo integral de todos los participantes. A lo largo del texto se justifica porqué los juegos motrices son adecuados especialmente para los niños y niñas con síndrome de Down, ofreciéndose además diversas pautas metodológicas que resulta interesante tener en cuenta a la hora de llevarlos a cabo. Por último, se presentan varios juegos a modo de ejemplo de la propuesta

Alfabetización inicial : Cambios y continuidades en la formación docente

En la búsqueda utópica de la formación ideal para ser una buena docente emprendí la Especialización en Escritura y Alfabetización. Los procesos formativos desarrollados en ella me llevaron a cuestionarme si lo que ocurría en las escuelas era coincidente con la formación recibida por los maestros o era el resultado de lo que las circunstancias y el ambiente les permitía. Para intentar situar la investigación en su contexto parece importante explicitar de forma breve que actualmente la formación docente en Uruguay se organiza en profesorados específicos para la educación media y en magisterio para la educación primaria. Los planes de estudios de las carreras difieren en los contenidos referidos a alfabetización. Por ejemplo, la carrera de Idioma Español no contiene en su currícula conocimientos referidos al proceso de adquisición de la lengua escrita. Así, se da la contradicción que los egresados de esa carrera que forman futuros docentes de nivel primario no cuentan con dichos conocimientos. La Especialización en Escritura y Alfabetización me acercó el conocimiento sobre estas teorías de la alfabetización e hizo que pensara críticamente en las maneras posibles para que la formación de docentes permita incidir en las prácticas de enseñanza referidas a la alfabetización inicial. Además, se parte de considerar que el conocimiento acerca de las teorías de la alfabetización no es suficiente. Es necesario también pensar en las maneras de llevarlas a la práctica escolar para que puedan ser el núcleo de toda reflexión. En este trabajo se pretende analizar la formación recibida de diferentes generaciones de maestros con respecto a la alfabetización, sus teorías y sus prácticas. Se parte para esto de la pregunta: ¿Qué saben los maestros y maestras de las nuevas generaciones acerca de las teorías de la alfabetización y qué sabían las anteriores generaciones sobre esta misma temática? Se supone que cuando los maestros transitan el proceso de formación adquieren los conocimientos teóricos y prácticos para poder luego plasmar esos conocimientos en sus prácticas. Entonces ¿de qué manera sucede esto? ¿Cómo se han formado en alfabetización dos docentes que pertenecen a planes curriculares distintos de la carrera de Maestro de Educación Primaria? A partir de estas indagaciones, me propongo finalizar con algunas reflexiones en torno a qué acciones formativas para enseñar a alfabetizar se podrían proponer para profundizar en la formación docente sobre alfabetización inicial. Para responder estas preguntas se propone analizar los planes de formación docente de distintas generaciones, realizar entrevistas a docentes egresadas de las generaciones en cuestión y, finalmente, analizar algunas prácticas de enseñanza en el aula.Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias de la Educació

El CIDA: 20 años de gestión documental para la investigación en arte contemporáneo

En estos 20 años, el trabajo realizado por el Centro Internacional de Documentación Artística Vicente Aguilera Cerni de Vilafamés (CIDA) ha dado como fruto un fondo documental esencial para conocer el panorama artístico de la segunda mitad del siglo xx. Los documentos cedidos por Vicente Aguilera que dieron origen al CIDA, junto con aquellos cedidos por el MACVAC, otros artistas y críticos de arte, han sido recopilados y gestionados para ponerlos a disposición de los usuarios y facilitar su consulta, convirtiéndose en un recurso para la investigación del arte.In these 20 years, the work done by the CIDA (International Art Documentation Centre Vicente Aguilera Cerni of Vilafamés) has produced as a result a documentary collection essential to the understanding of the art scene of the second half of the twentieth century. The documents that gave rise to the creation of CIDA (donated by Vicente Aguilera),along with the ones transferred from the MACVAC, other artists and art critics, have been compiled and managed in order to make them available to users, thus becoming a resource for art research

Identifying economic cycles in Spain using wavelet functions: oil price, industrial production and consumer price indices

This paper analyses the economic cycles in Spain over a long period of time according to available data by using three related variables: Oil Price (1946M1-2015M9), Industrial Production Index (1993M2-2015M9) and Consumer Price Index (1961M1-2015M9). The impact of shocks on oil price has been the subject of an extensive study, although modelling their effects is not a trivial undertaking. Our contribution focuses on applying the Morlet Wavelets to identify the presence of unstable cycles in data series by calculating the Wavelet Power Spectrum with the MATLAB software. Moreover, some bivariate techniques are applied to display the mutual influence of the Oil Price with the Industrial Production Index and the Consumer Price Index. The Cross Wavelet Coherency and the relationship among phases can also be used to detect co-movements and potential causality relationships in frequency bands over time. Finally, by studying these variables we can draw certain comparative conclusions with the US and German economies, whose corresponding variables have been considered by other authors using this same tool

Este artigo investiga a possibilidade de compreender a pele do ator como traje de cena a partir da perspectiva do bordado. Sem se propor a chegar a uma conclusão definitiva à questão, o artigo se apoia em duas noções: a de que o ator e a personagem são pessoas diferentes; e a ideia de que a nudez não representa o grau zero do traje de cena. The motor game as methodological tool for boys and girls with functional diversity

Este artículo plantea la utilización del juego motriz como herramienta metodológica en el Young Athletes Program de Special Olympics o con cualquier niño o niña que presente algún tipo de necesidad educativa especial. Tras haber contextualizado en qué consiste el Young Athletes Program se lleva a cabo un breve análisis sobre los juegos motrices, tomando como referencia diversas definiciones, y los diversos beneficios que generan en estos niños y niñas; puesto que favorecen no solo una mejora a nivel físico, sino su desarrollo integral. Se presentan, además, diversos juegos a modo de ejemplo de aquellos que podrían ser utilizados y que se aprovechan de los beneficios comentados.This article suggests using motor games as a methodological tool in the Young Athletes Program of Special Olympics or with any child with any kind of disability. After contextualizing what is the Young Athletes Program, an analysis about the motor games is carried out taking into account several definitions. Some of its advantages are also set forth given the fact that motor games not only enhance the children’s physical developement, but they favour an integrated development. Several games are presented in order to show some ideas that might be used taking advantage of all the benefits that have been stated
