Acontecimentos do acontecimento na Comunicação : a perspectiva da Semiótica Crítica, da semiose à contra-efetuação

This article presents part of the path traced by the research Critical Semiotics: Communication as Event. As an entry point to the work, we will present here the central hypothesis and our objectives; namely, the perception that the concept of event, despite its importance, is dispersed in the area of Communication, and fluctuates between empiricist, functionalist and/or phenomenological understandings. Speculating another possible life to the concept, with another potentiality to communicational research, we started to investigate the pragmatic dimensions of the event, between Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotics, and Gilles Deleuze's philosophy. By thinking of the event in its effects, with its inseparable effectuation and counter-effectuation, it opens space for a thought of Communication that does not reify its objects or experience but focuses on understanding the translations involved therein.Este artigo apresenta parte do percurso traçado pela pesquisa Semiótica Crítica: a Comunicação como acontecimento. Como ponto de entrada ao trabalho, apresentaremos aqui a hipótese central e nossos objetivos; a saber, a percepção de que o conceito de acontecimento, a despeito de sua importância, tem dispersão na área da Comunicação, e flutua entre compreensões empiristas, funcionalistas e/ou fenomenológicas. Entrevendo outra vida possível ao conceito, com outra potencialidade à pesquisa comunicacional, passamos a investigar as dimensões pragmaticistas do acontecer, entre a semiótica de Charles Sanders Peirce e a filosofia de Gilles Deleuze. Micropolíticas: devir, cooperação dissonante e experiência pura

This article traces the definition of the concept of micropolitics in a singular perspective of Critical Semiotics. It seeks supplements in the theories of Deleuze and Guattari to think of it as an underlying force to alliances that produce zones of becoming. Regarding the propositions of Rolnik and Guattari, it proposes the understanding of micropolitics as a process of dissonant cooperation among subjects positioned in distinct subjectivities, a process that makes these existential models deterritorialize themselves. Concerning the phenomenal characteristics of this process, it uses the thought of James and Lapoujade to understand that micropolitics is produced and intensified based on what these thinkers called pure experience.O artigo traça um percurso de definição do conceito de micropolítica em uma visada singular da Semiótica Crítica. Busca suplementos nas teorizações de Deleuze e Guattari para pensá-la enquanto força subjacente a alianças que produzem zonas de devir. Pervasive gaps in Amazonian ecological research

Biodiversity loss is one of the main challenges of our time,1,2 and attempts to address it require a clear un derstanding of how ecological communities respond to environmental change across time and space.3,4 While the increasing availability of global databases on ecological communities has advanced our knowledge of biodiversity sensitivity to environmental changes,5–7 vast areas of the tropics remain understudied.8–11 In the American tropics, Amazonia stands out as the world’s most diverse rainforest and the primary source of Neotropical biodiversity,12 but it remains among the least known forests in America and is often underrepre sented in biodiversity databases.13–15 To worsen this situation, human-induced modifications16,17 may elim inate pieces of the Amazon’s biodiversity puzzle before we can use them to understand how ecological com munities are responding. To increase generalization and applicability of biodiversity knowledge,18,19 it is thus crucial to reduce biases in ecological research, particularly in regions projected to face the most pronounced environmental changes. We integrate ecological community metadata of 7,694 sampling sites for multiple or ganism groups in a machine learning model framework to map the research probability across the Brazilian Amazonia, while identifying the region’s vulnerability to environmental change. 15%–18% of the most ne glected areas in ecological research are expected to experience severe climate or land use changes by 2050. Entre o maior e o menor: sentidos políticos dos valores da Revolução Francesa na Trilogia das Cores, de Krzysztof Kieślowski

This paper’s object of study is the Three Colors trilogy, by the Polish director Krzysztof Kieślowski (1941-1996), composed by Blue (1993), White (1994) and Red (1994). We discuss theoretically the positioning of the French Revolution’s values in the political field in the trilogy. The objective is to comprehend how the revolutionary values are micropolitically worked in each one of the movies that compose it. Based in an idea of a “minor cinema”, this article deconstructs the connections suggested by the Brazilian translation of the movie’s titles by showing how, paradoxically, values such as liberty, equality and brotherhood are experienced transversally in the characters’ quotidian, and contradicts its director by recognizing the inseparability of the molar and molecular strategies which make this trilogy one expression of the political cinema of the end of the 20th century.Este artigo tem como objeto de estudo a Trilogia das Cores, do diretor polonês Krzysztof Kieślowski (1941-1996), composta por Azul (1993), Branco (1994) e Vermelho (1994). Realiza-se uma argumentação de caráter teórico sobre o posicionamento no campo político dos princípios da Revolução Francesa na Trilogia. O objetivo é compreender como os valores revolucionários são micropoliticamente trabalhados em cada um dos filmes que a compõe. Sustentado por uma ideia de "cinema menor", este artigo desconstrói as associações sugeridas pela tradução brasileira do título dos filmes ao evidenciar como, paradoxalmente, valores como liberdade, igualdade e fraternidade são experienciados transversalmente no cotidiano dos personagens, e contradiz seu diretor ao reconhecer a indissociabilidade das estratégias molares e moleculares que fazem desta trilogia uma expressão do cinema político do fim do século XX.

This article presents the ground for the project The Configurations of Communication, a work idealized by Alexandre Rocha da Silva and collectively developed by GPESC’s members. In Critical Semiotics, communication is considered inseparably from the three phaneroscopic categories that configure it ad hoc (firstness, secondness and thirdness), but also from the three metaphysical categories that configure the process of knowledge and life. In the first section, we see how chance distributes qualities in aesthetic operations that iconically configure the sensible; in the second section, we take on existence and encounters in light of communicational ethics; in the third section, we think of mediation as foundation for fixation of beliefs and change of habits. One last section formulates the terms of a synechistic communication concept as a continuity between three distinct communicational horizons. The aim is, therefore, to politically problematize communication by conceiving it through the ethical updating of aesthetic potentials.O artigo apresenta premissas para o projeto As configurações da comunicação, idealizado por Alexandre Rocha da Silva e desenvolvido coletivamente por integrantes do GPESC.
