    Model of Ecotourism Management in Small Islands of Bunaken National Park, North Sulawesi

    The Bunaken National Park is one of the famous national park for tourism in North Sulawesi, Indonesia. The abundance natural resources is one of the crucial natural attraction for tourism in Bunaken. Tourism in Bunaken contributes significantly in local economic development. In the same situation, however, tourism contributes negatively to environment. Tourist activities contributes significantly in coral reef covers. Utilization of natural resources as an object and attraction needs to be done carefully, taking into account the balance of ecological, socio-economic and socio-cultural. The concept of ecotourism with three aspects of development were important in aspect in Bunaken National Park tourism development. The management of the park tour needs to be done based on the concept and principles of ecotourism. The Bunaken National Park tourist management model simulated by the dynamic system with the Powersim Constructor software show the number of tourist 2035 reached 27,152.98, extensive coral cover 447.87ha, the local community incomes Rp 15,834,861,419.63 and government revenues Rp 1,751,770,691.04.     Energy-efficient scheduling for a flexible flow shop using an improved genetic-simulated annealing algorithm

A definitive version was subsequently published in Robotics and Computer-Integrated Manufacturing, [Volume 29, Issue 5, October 2013, Pages 418–429] DOI10.1016/j.rcim.2013.04.001[EN] The traditional production scheduling problem considers performance indicators such as processing time, cost and quality as optimization objectives in manufacturing systems; however, it does not take energy consumption and environmental impacts into account completely. Therefore, this paper proposes an energy-efficient model for flexible flow-shop scheduling (FFS). First, a mathematical model for a FFS problem, which is based on an energy-efficient mechanism, is described to solve multi-objective optimization. Since FFS is well known as the NPhard problem, an improved genetic-simulated annealing algorithm is adopted to make a significant trade-off between the makespan and the total energy consumption for implementing a feasible scheduling. Finally, a case study of production scheduling problem for metalworking workshop in a plant is simulated. The experimental results show the relationship between the makespan and the energy consumption is conflicting apparently. Moreover, an energy saving decision is performed in a feasible scheduling.     Five characteristics of youth unemployment in Europe

    Current levels of youth unemployment need to be understood in the context of increased labor market flexibility, an expansion of higher education, youth migration, and family legacies of long-term unemployment. Compared with previous recessions, European-wide policies and investments have significantly increased with attempts to support national policies. By mapping these developments and debates, we illustrate the different factors shaping the future of European labor markets. We argue that understanding youth unemployment requires a holistic approach that combines an analysis of changes in the economic sphere around labor market flexibility, skills attainment, and employer demand, as well as understanding the impact of family legacies affecting increasingly polarized trajectories for young people today. The success of EU policy initiatives and investments will be shaped by the ability of national actors to implement these effectively
