    ttˉ+Vt\bar{t}+V production in ATLAS

The latest ATLAS results for processes with a top quark pair and an associated vector boson are presented here. The measurement of the production cross sections for these processes is important for the direct determination of the top quark couplings to gauge bosons and for constraints on new physics models, in particular for models which go beyond the Standard Model regarding the mechanism for the mass generation.Comment: 5 pages, conference TOP201

Paleoneuroanatomy of the European lambeosaurine dinosaur Arenysaurus ardevoli

The neuroanatomy of hadrosaurid dinosaurs is well known from North America and Asia. In Europe only a few cranial remains have been recovered that include the braincase. Arenysaurus is the first European endocast for which the paleoneuroanatomy has been studied. The resulting data have enabled us to draw ontogenetic, phylogenetic and functional inferences. Arenysaurus preserves the endocast and the inner ear. This cranial material was CT scanned, and a 3D-model was generated. The endocast morphology supports a general pattern for hadrosaurids with some characters that distinguish it to a subfamily level, such as a brain cavity that is anteroposteriorly shorter or the angle of the major axis of the cerebral hemisphere to the horizontal in lambeosaurines. Both these characters are present in the endocast of Arenysaurus. Osteological features indicate an adult ontogenetic stage, while some paleoneuroanatomical features are indicative of a subadult ontogenetic stage. It is hypothesized that the presence of puzzling mixture of characters that suggest different ontogenetic stages for this specimen may reflect some degree of dwarfism in Arenysaurus. Regarding the inner ear, its structure shows differences from the ornithopod clade with respect to the height of the semicircular canals. These differences could lead to a decrease in the compensatory movements of eyes and head, with important implications for the paleobiology and behavior of hadrosaurid taxa such as Edmontosaurus, Parasaurolophus and Arenysaurus. The endocranial morphology of European hadrosaurids sheds new light on the evolution of this group and may reflect the conditions in the archipelago where these animals lived during the Late CretaceousPeer ReviewedPostprint (published version

Coping Strategies: Three Decades of Vietnam War in Hollywood

The Vietnam War represents a crucial moment in U.S. contemporary history and has given rise to the conflict which has so intensively motivated the American film industry. Although some Vietnam movies were produced during the conflict, this article will concentrate on the ones filmed once the war was over. It has been since the end of the war that the subject has become one of Hollywood's best-sellers. Apocalypse Now, The Return, The Deer Hunter, Rambo or Platoon are some of the titles that have created so much controversy as well as related essays. This renaissance has risen along with both the electoral success of the conservative party, in the late seventies, and a change of attitude in American society toward the recently ended conflict. Is this a mere coincidence? How did society react to the war? Do Hollywood movies affect public opinion or vice versa? These are some of the questions that have inspired this article, which will concentrate on the analysis of popular films, devoting a very brief space to marginal cinema. The Vietnam War represents a crucial moment in U.S. contemporary history and has given rise to the conflict which has so intensively motivated the American film industry. The Roman imperial art as an iconographic model in the European courts: from the Renaissance to the Napoleonic times” (P1.1B2012-02). The project, led by Professor Víctor Mínguez under Jaume I University’s Research Plan, started with a presentation by Professor Philippe Bordes, a major specialist in the history of art during the French Revolution and the Empire. The aim of the abovementioned project was to provide a thorough analysis of the artistic iconographic models of the imperial Rome as well as their influence in the creation of powerful figures during the Renaissance, the Baroque, and the beginning of the 19th century. Finding the roots of their study in the imperial Rome and going through the court’s artistic trends in the modern era, the authors elaborate on the progression of images through the detailed analysis of nine particular case studies they confront and compare as an end to a journey among Western symbols

Abstract:The article presents firstly the state of knowledge of Barberino’s work, Il Guerrin Meschino, focused on the diffusion of the Italianversion and its translation to Spanish (Guarino Mezquino), and considering the possibility of a lost translation to Catalan language. The presence of Sibyls is described in its context, establishing a relation between those appearing in Il Guerrin and appearing later inAntoine de la Sale’s work and in Gil Vicente’s work’s Auto de la Sibila Casandra. The role of the Sibyl in Barberino’s work is no longerallegorical-religious, but chivalric as it becomes an aid element for the main character the knight. Keywords: Andrea de Barberino, Il Guerrin Meschino, Sibyl, books on chivalry

Urban mobility and carsharing: trends and threats on consumer behavior

[EN] This dissertation gives answers to one of the most concerning issues a great part of the world is facing: the future mobility. First, this dissertation focuses on the evolution of the concept of marketing trough years and the results given determine the possible alternatives. It is also regarded that new business models, specially focusing in sharing economies, bring benefits to the actual market trends. Then, this dissertation is sustained by the factors (demographical, economical and environment protection) that prove that the current model of transportation might be aiming to apply certain changes as well as it is not neither efficient or drives to the ideal of freedom of mobility. Carsharing services are considered as an alternative in order to minimize the actual problems and how this concerns local administration policies, to show these are regulated and how sharing economies start to have a significant cooperative role in day-to-day. In this study, there has been considered quantitative and qualitative methods of research. The quantitative analysis is focused on the results of a survey, that showed the main concerns of user satisfaction to the carsharing usage. The survey has been elaborated in a French corporate, which offered a carsharing fleet to their employees’ as a new alternative instead of recurring to private means of transportation. The qualitative analysis focuses in the data collected by the application programming interface (API) that Car2Go registered in the city of Vancouver, showing the reactions of the customers of a carsharing fleet provided by when an breakdown in the rail transportation system left a great part of the city without the service during hours till it got fixed. As a conclusion, given the data collected by field studies, solutions are reached in order to prove that carsharing is a new way of mobility that has positive impact on the environment and aims for benefits of public and private enterprises and individuals in a short-term scenario.Santana Llácer, C.
