In this investigation there is considered a system of criteria and performance factors of developmental level of independent activity of undergraduates on the basis of WEB-technologies, and there was made an analysis of basic difficulties. As a result of statistical data processing of the questionnaire survey of undergraduates there was determined a self-assessment level of their readiness to independent work with the aid of tools of WEB-technologies as an unsatisfactory one. There was defined a hypothesis on the principles of organization of independent work of undergraduates on the basis of WEB-technologies by virtue of students' immersion into real professional activities

Thermotropic and structural effects of poly(malic acid) on fully hydrated multilamellar DPPC–water systems

The thermotropic and structural effects of low molecular weight poly(malic acid) (PMLA) on fully hydrated multilamellar dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DPPC)-water systems were investigated using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), and freeze-fracture transmission electron microscopy (FFTEM). Systems of 20 wt% DPPC concentration and 1 and 5 wt% PMLA to lipid ratios were studied. The PMLA derivatives changed the thermal behavior of DPPC significantly and caused a drastic loss in correlation between lamellae in the three characteristic thermotropic states (i.e., in the gel, rippled gel and liquid crystalline phases). In the presence of PBS or NaCl, the perturbation was more moderate. The structural behavior on the atomic level was revealed by FTIR spectroscopy. The molecular interactions between DPPC and PMLA were simulated via modeling its measured infrared spectra, and their peculiar spectral features were interpreted. Through this interpretation, the poly(malic acid) is inferred to attach to the headgroups of the phospholipids through hydrogen bonds between the free hydroxil groups of PMLA and the phosphodiester groups of DPPC

Materials and methods. The composition of glyzyrrhizic acid and glutamyl-tryptophane in the form of cream was studied using white rats. ACD was induced by application of the ethanol-acetone solution of 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB) during 4 days. The investigational drug was applied to the ACD lesions once a day during 14 consecutive days. The severity of ACD was assessed by the condition of the lesion focus, morphological composition of blood and apoptosis rate in the lesion. Results. It was shown that 4 days application of DNCB causes typical skin lesion manifesting in local papulovesicular eruptions, excoriations, and forming crust on the surface of the lesion. Application of the topical drug Tiladerm in the form of cream on the lesion induces significant acceleration of the lesion focus rehabilitation as early as on the end of 14 day of treatment. The activation of the markers of apoptosis (Ki-67, to a less extend p-53, caspase-3, Bcl-2) in the ACD lesion was shown. During treatment with Tiladerm, Ki-67 expression was reduced while expressions of p-53 and caspase-3 were enhanced. Conclusion. Thus, Tiladerm showed prominent positive effect on experimental ACD in rats.

© Serials Publications. Nanotechnologies, biotechnologies, IT as well as cognitive technologies are rapidly becoming part of our life. Cognitive science investigates the ways in which man perceives the world, the peculiarities of the thinking process and memorizing. Hundreds of laboratories around the world use computer systems capable of reading human thoughts. The purpose of research is to justify the educational technologies that contribute to the integration of Foresight competences in the educational activity of the future teacher on the verge of the cognitive revolution. Education is becoming more flexible, interactive and personified. A modern teacher should go ahead of his time. So as foresight consists in determining the position in reference to the future it is necessary to define foresight requirements which the teacher is expected to meet. Education of the future should have an open structure and a practice-oriented content. It should be characterized by the learners’ involvement in the process of constructing future, their mobility and active position. We put forward some educational technologies aimed at preparing the teacher who is able to work in the conditions of constant education transformation. E-learning became the starting point in this process. It should be followed by smart-education as network cooperation of educational institutions with other universities, secondary schools, companies in working together in the internet sharing technologies. To provide for the foresight requirements it is possible only through training teachers to make the foresight of the competencies in a changing world. Creating the necessary educational environment with the help of the technologies suggested in this paper will enable the teacher to reach the level of foresight requirements

Chemotherapeutic drugs and newly developed therapeutic monoclonal antibodies are adequately delivered to most solid and systemic tumors. However, drug delivery into primary brain tumors and metastases is impeded by the blood-brain tumor barrier (BTB), significantly limiting drug use in brain cancer treatment.C]dextran (2.6-fold increase) and to Herceptin (2-fold increase). Survival time of intracranial lung cancer-bearing mice treated with Herceptin in combination with vardenafil was significantly increased as compared to the untreated, vardenafil- or Herceptin-treated mice (p<0.01). Log-rank survival analysis of mice bearing HER2-positive intracranial breast tumor also showed a significant survival increase (p<0.02) in the group treated with Herceptin plus vardenafil as compared to other groups. However, vardenafil did not exert any beneficial effect on survival of mice bearing intracranial breast tumor with low HER2 expression and co-treated with Herceptin (p>0.05).These findings suggest that PDE5 inhibitors may effectively modulate BTB permeability, and enhance delivery and therapeutic efficacy of monoclonal antibodies in hard-to-treat brain metastases from different primary tumors that had metastasized to the brain

Certain laminins of vascular basement membranes have been identified in human breast tumors and brain gliomas that share the same β1 chain. These laminins are new carcinoma angiogenic markers and might represent potential targets for antiangiogenic therapy
