El objetivo de este trabajo es plantear la utilización de estos recursos como actividad transversal en la docencia del derecho._________________________________The learning continued throughout life as an essential element for achieving greater European competitiveness, improve social cohesion, equal opportunities and quality of life, is one of the priorities of European convergence process. In this regard, university education should promote active learning of the student, putting at their disposal the necessary resources, so that, by itself, seek out in the pursuit of knowledge, for which it has the support and guidance of teachers. The impact that this new benchmark for the education process involves teaching in the organization of any material, are magnified in the teachings of legal disciplines, which is essential to the continuous updating of knowledge. In this direction, plays a decisive role the use of new technologies and computer resources, as alternatives to more traditional methodologies. The objective of this work is to raise the utilization of these resources as a cross in the teaching of law

Run-time Support to Manage Architectural Variability Speci ed with CVL

    Get PDF
The execution context in which pervasive systems or mobile computing run changes continuously. Hence, applications for these systems should be adapted at run-time according to the current context. In order to implement a context-aware dynamic reconfiguration service, most approaches usually require to model at design-time both the list of all possible configurations and the plans to switch among them. In this paper we present an alternative approach for the automatic run-time generation of application configurations and the reconfiguration plans. The generated configurations are optimal regarding di erent criteria, such as functionality or resource consumption (e.g. battery or memory). This is achieved by: (1) modelling architectural variability at design-time using Common Variability Language (CVL), and (2) using a genetic algorithm that finds at run-time nearly-optimal configurations using the information provided by the variability model. We also specify a case study and we use it to evaluate our approach, showing that it is efficient and suitable for devices with scarce resources.Campus de Excelencia Internacional Andalucia Tech y proyectos de investigación TIN2008-01942, P09-TIC-5231 and INTER-TRUST FP7-317731

Harriet Ann Jacobs’ Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl' and Frederick Douglass’ Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American slave', in the History of American Slave Narratives

Traballo Fin de Grao en Lingua e Literatura Inglesas. Curso 2018-2019Harriet Ann Jacobs is considered as one of the most influential African American women writers. The publication of her slave narrative “Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl” (1861) caused an unprecedented scandal in the traditional American literature due to the hard and detailed descriptions of the African American slave routines and punishments. Likewise, sixteen years before, Frederick Douglass and his narrative “Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American slave” (1845) used literature not only to provide a description of the slave abuses but also to fight for freedom and rights of African American people. The present study intends to analyse these two texts that had a huge impact during the abolitionist period. The two narratives try to make the reading public aware of the situation of African American slaves and claim that they should be equal citizens to white people. To assess their contribution to the vindication of black people’s rights in the Southern States I will analyse the main topics in slave narratives (sex, abuse, religion, family relationships, social rights, etc.) and some repeated motifs (the loss of innocence, dehumanization of individuals, the ongoing abuses, the quest of freedom, etc) that allow a detailed gender comparison between the two experiences. The analysis of Jacobs and Douglass autobiographies is methodologically informed by the authors’ experiences and their fight for social rights that developed much later for black people in the Southern States. During the course of this essay many authors whose opinions upon this subject are valued will be considered and featured in order to study the impact, reflection and controversy of gender, race and justice between reader

Is Market-Oriented Reform Producing a “Two-Track” Europe? Evidence from Electricity and Telecommunications

    Get PDF
The European Commission has formally recognised that adequate provision of basic household services, including energy, communications, water and transport, is key to ensuring equity, social cohesion and solidarity. Yet little research has been done on the impact of the reform of these services in this regard. This article offers an innovative way to explore such questions by analysing and contrasting stated and revealed preferences on citizen satisfaction with and expenditure on two services, electricity and telecommunications, in two large countries, Spain and the United Kingdom. In telecommunications, but to a much lesser extent in electricity, we find evidence that reform has led to a “two-track” Europe, where citizens who are elderly, not working or the less-educated behave differently in the market, with the result that they are less satisfied with these services than their younger, working, better-educated, counterparts

Simulation of Road Traffic Applying Model-Driven Engineering

    Get PDF
Road traffic is an important phenomenon in modern societies. The study of its different aspects in the multiple scenarios where it happens is relevant for a huge number of problems. At the same time, its scale and complexity make it hard to study. Traffic simulations can alleviate these difficulties, simplifying the scenarios to consider and controlling their variables. However, their development also presents difficulties. The main ones come from the need to integrate the way of working of researchers and developers from multiple fields. Model-Driven Engineering (MDE) addresses these problems using Modelling Languages (MLs) and semi-automatic transformations to organise and describe the development, from requirements to code. This paper presents a domain-specific MDE framework for simulations of road traffic. It comprises an extensible ML, support tools, and development guidelines. The ML adopts an agent-based approach, which is focused on the roles of individuals in road traffic and their decision-making. A case study shows the process to model a traffic theory with the ML, and how to specialise that specification for an existing target platform and its simulations. The results are the basis for comparison with related work
