Entrepreneurial university and academic capitalism: an international debate
The aim of this note is to explore the international debate actually occurring within the community of entrepreneurial university development supporters and critics on such a model, stigmatizing its openness to marketing, defining it as Academic Capitalism, according to various ethical principles. This debate implies a change as for the university missions (particularly, the third one). This note also examines the most recent bibliography in this field, as a record of the increasing interest coming from the academic world, regarding the traditional Humbolt’s model of university evolution
Versatile use of advanced NMR techniques for the identification of compounds able to interfere with ELAV protein−mRNA complexes
The ultimate goal of the project in which this thesis took part is to develop a new series of small, drug like organic molecules able to modulate the stability of protein−RNA complexes involved in several diseases, thus regulating gene expression with an unprecedented mode of action and opening the way to a new class of therapeutic agents. I focused my research on ELAV protein HuR due to its involvement in several pathologies (i.e., cancer, retinopathy, etc.) in which the protein is overexpressed/hyper activated with consequences on target RNAs and their activity (i.e., transcription). In this context, the main aim would be to develop small molecules able to bind HuR and interfere with the formation and/or the stability of its complexes with target RNAs. Given the early stage of this research topic, the work was articulated in three main blocks: 1. Implementation of a systematic biophysical and in silico approach exploiting complementary and informative methods; 2. Design and synthesis of new ligands according to both a structure-based (in silico) and fragment-based (based on experimental fragment screening) approach; 3. Biophysical assessment of the interaction between compounds and target protein (HuR)
What About Inclusive Education and ICT in Italy: a Scoping Study
Strategies and approaches to inclusion in the classroom are important in developing a high quality, inclusive experience for students with Special Education Needs. Generally, strategies are not geared towards specific exceptionalities, but are instead designed to be implemented across exceptionality categories. Pavone (2014) and de Anna, Gaspari, Mura (2015) determined through their systematic literature review and research results that co-operation among staff, commitment and accountability to the teaching of all students, differentiation of instruction, and recognizing “that social interaction is the means through which student knowledge is developed” are key to successful inclusion of students with SEN. This paper looks at the issue of school inclusion by referring to the most recent laws about the inclusive education of students with special educational needs in Italy. Inclusive education means that all students attend and are welcomed by their neighbourhood schools in age-appropriate, regular classes and are supported to learn, contribute and participate in all aspects of the life of the school. Inclusive education is about how we develop and design our schools, classrooms, programs and activities so that all students learn and participate together. So ICT should be considered as a key tool for promoting equity in educational opportunities, that is using ICT to support the learning of learners with disabilities and special educational needs in inclusive settings within compulsory education. The paper also argues how the Italian teachers can realized good practices for inclusion through the use of ICT
Characterization of fluidized bed pyrolysis of sewage sludge by time-resolved pressure measurements
The management of sewage sludge in an economically and environmentally acceptable manner is one of the critical issues facing society today. Due to industrialization and urbanisation, production of wastewater sludge has dramatically increased in the last years and this is expected to continue in the future. The environmental legislation is becoming more and more restrictive as regards landfilling of this biodegradable waste and the use of sewage sludge in agriculture is often hindered due to the possible presence of heavy metals and pathogens. The disposal of wastewater sewage sludge by means of thermochemical conversion appears to be a potentially useful strategy to avoid landfill disposal and, at the same time, to exploit sludge as a source of energy and valuable chemicals. Fluidization technology applied to thermochemical processes, like combustion, gasification and pyrolysis, is an attractive option, due to its favorable characteristics: inherent operational flexibility, high efficiency, low pollutant emissions, ability to effectively accomplish destruction of micro-pollutants and pathogens (Werther and Ogada, 1999). Devolatilization of sewage sludge granules during thermochemical processing in fluidized beds plays a crucial role in the design and performance of fluidized bed converters. Uneven axial and radial distribution of volatile matter in the fluidized-bed combustor/gasifier is commonly experienced in industrial units and is determined by in-bed emission of volatile matter which is responsible for the enhancement of axial fuel particle segregation. On the other hand, the competition between fuel devolatilization and radial solids mixing crucially affects the radial distribution of volatile matter across the reactor and emphasizes the relevance of the devolatilization kinetics to volatile matter segregation. Short devolatilization times promote the release of volatile matter above the bed and close to the fuel feeding points.

Formación para el emprendimiento en la educación superior. Estudio comparativo entre Colombia e Italia
The objective of this research article is the analysis of the contribution of the university to the development of a country and the generation of competitive advantages.
To this end, through a comparative methodology, the article presents focuses on the
educational dimension of entrepreneurship according to the efforts of two countries: Colombia and Italy. The results of this analysis show that, in comparison to the
educational context of technological and university training in both countries, the
most appropriate aspect of the Italian educational system in relation to the Colombian system is that, although Italy is below the average of the advanced economies
and Colombia is above average in relation to other countries of the region that are
in the same phase of development. In addition, the dynamism that characterizes
the Colombian context in terms of higher education is highlighted, from a rather
complex point of view. While, as far as Italy is concerned, even at a more advanced
stage of economic development, there is a period of stagnation
