    A Personalized Human Drivers\u27 Risk Sensitive Characteristics Depicting Stochastic Optimal Control Algorithm for Adaptive Cruise Control

    This paper presents a personalized stochastic optimal adaptive cruise control (ACC) algorithm for automated vehicles (AVs) incorporating human drivers\u27 risk-sensitivity under system and measurement uncertainties. The proposed controller is designed as a linear exponential-of-quadratic Gaussian (LEQG) problem, which utilizes the stochastic optimal control mechanism to feedback the deviation from the design car-following target. With the risk-sensitive parameter embedded in LEQG, the proposed method has the capability to characterize risk preference heterogeneity of each AV against uncertainties according to each human drivers\u27 preference. Further, the established control theory can achieve both expensive control mode and non-expensive control mode via changing the weighting matrix of the cost function in LEQG to reveal different treatments on input. Simulation tests validate the proposed approach can characterize different driving behaviors and its effectiveness in terms of reducing the deviation from equilibrium state. The ability to produce different trajectories and generate smooth control of the proposed algorithm is also verified

    HMS: A Hierarchical Mapping System for the Locator/ID Separation Network

    The current Internet is facing serious scalability problems and the overloading of Internet Protocol (IP) addresses is regarded as an important reason. The Locator/ID Separation Protocol (LISP) is proposed as a network-based solution that separates IP addresses into Routing Locators (RLOCs) and Endpoint Identifiers (EIDs) to address the routing scalability problems. It is a critical challenge for LISP to design a scalable and efficient mapping system. In this paper, we propose a hierarchical mapping system (HMS). HMS consists of two levels with the bottom level maintaining the EID-to-RLOC mappings in an Autonomous System (AS) and the upper level storing the mappings between EID-prefixes and ASs in the global network. We adopt one-hop Distributed Hash Table (DHT) to organize EID-to-RLOC mappings in the bottom level and use a protocol like Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) to propagate EID-prefix-to-AS mappings in the upper level. HMS aggregates the prefixes in an AS and decreases the global mapping entries in the upper level. The evaluation results show that the number of mapping entries in HMS grows slower than the routing table size, which makes HMS scalable. In addition, the mobility in HMS does not cause mapping changes in the upper level. It makes HMS efficient in supporting host mobility. We estimate the map-requests sent to the mapping system, which show the load on HMS is small. Last, we compare HMS with LISP-TREE and LISP+ALT by quantitative analysis, in terms of resolution cost, and qualitative analysis. The results show that HMS has a good performance

    A Performance Analysis Model of TCP over Multiple Heterogeneous Paths for 5G Mobile Services

    Driven by the primary requirement of emerging 5G mobile services, the demand for concurrent multipath transfer (CMT) is still prominent. Yet, multipath transport protocols are not widely adopted and TCP-based CMT schemes will still be in dominant position in 5G. However, the performance of TCP flow transferred over multiple heterogeneous paths is prone to the link quality asymmetry, the extent of which was revealed to be significant by our field investigation. In this paper, we present a performance analysis model for TCP over multiple heterogeneous paths in 5G scenarios, where both bandwidth and delay asymmetry are taken into consideration. The evaluation adopting parameters from field investigation shows that the proposed model can achieve high accuracy in practical environments. Some interesting inferences can be drawn from the proposed model, such as the dominant factor that affect the performance of TCP over heterogeneous networks, and the criteria of determining the appropriate number of links to be used under different circumstances of path heterogeneity. Thus, the proposed model can provide a guidance to the design of TCP-based CMT solutions for 5G mobile services

    Incidence, persistence, and clearance of anogenital human papillomavirus among men who have sex with men in Taiwan: a community cohort study

    BackgroundMen who have sex with men (MSM) have an increased risk of human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. This study aimed to assess the incidence, persistence, and clearance of anogenital HPV infections among MSM and the correlates in a 3-year community cohort study.MethodsFrom 2015 to 2019, MSM were recruited and followed up at 6, 12, 24, and 36 months in Taiwan. Questionnaires and anogenital swabs were collected at baseline and each follow-up visit. Thirty-seven HPV genotypes were tested and genotyped using the linear array HPV genotyping test. The incidence, persistence, and clearance rates of anogenital HPV infection and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were estimated through Poisson regression. Correlates of the incidence and clearance rates were examined using a generalized estimating equations (GEE) model.ResultsA total of 201 MSM were retained in the cohort study with a median age of 27 years (interquartile range [IQR]: 24–32) at baseline. The incidence, persistence, and clearance rates of any anal HPV infection among MSM were 43.6 (95% CI: 33.7–55.6), 23.4 (17.7–30.2), and 58.3 (45.1–74.1) per 1,000 person months (pms), respectively. The incidence, persistence, and clearance rates of any penile HPV infection among MSM were 26.8 (20.1–34.9), 13.4 (8.0–20.9), and 51.5 (37.8–68.5) pms, respectively. MSM who did not consistently use a condom in receptive sex (adjusted odds ratio [AOR]: 2.06, 95% CIs: 1.14–3.72) were more likely to acquire any anal HPV infection. Age at recruitment (1.05, 1.01–1.09) was positively associated with any penile HPV incidence. MSM with over one sex partner in receptive anal sex (0.53, 0.30–0.94) were less likely to clear any anal HPV infection. MSM who were unemployed/students (0.55, 0.30–0.98) were less likely to clear any penile HPV infection.ConclusionHigh incidence and low clearance of anogenital HPV infection among MSM in the study serve as a reminder that this population needs to be targeted for HPV vaccination. It is essential for MSM to scale up HPV screening and adhere to safe sex

In this paper, focusing on the needs of industrial development layout and combining with the scenario of dual-carbon target constraint setting, a power-industry management analysis model is constructed, and a differentiated screening mechanism of industrial layout is realized under the three scenario Settings of dual-carbon target. According to the industrial development layout of Xinjiang, this paper studies the relationship between industrial development and energy and electricity consumption under different scenarios, selects the key industries according to the requirements of different scenarios, and carries out the scene comparison evaluation based on the industrial competitiveness evaluation. Finally, the paper puts forward specific suggestions from the perspectives of applying the coordinated layout of different scenes in stages, taking into account the coordination of regional layout, and striving for the practical linkage between industry and electric power

    Using protection motivation theory to explain the intention to initiate human papillomavirus vaccination among men who have sex with men in China

    Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and related diseases are common among men who have sex with men (MSM). The most effective prevention is HPV vaccination. In China, however, men are not included in the HPV vaccination plan. We investigated the intention to initiate HPV vaccination and associated factors among MSM in China. Methods We surveyed 563 unvaccinated MSM aged 18 or older from six cities in China. Participants completed an electronic questionnaire about demographics, knowledge of and attitude towards HPV and HPV vaccine, intention to initiate HPV vaccination, willingness to recommend HPV vaccine to peers, feeling about government policy about HPV vaccination. We used the structural equation modeling (SEM) to analyze factors associated with HPV vaccine intention. Results The knowledge of HPV and HPV vaccine among participants was low. The mean score of knowledge about HPV and HPV vaccine was only 1.59 (range 0–11). The intention to initiate HPV vaccination within 6 months among participants was moderate (43.3% in total, 18.1% for ‘very high' and 25.2% for ‘above average')

    Transcriptome analysis of orange-spotted grouper (Epinephelus coioides) spleen in response to Singapore grouper iridovirus

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Orange-spotted grouper (<it>Epinephelus coioides</it>) is an economically important marine fish cultured in China and Southeast Asian countries. The emergence of infectious viral diseases, including iridovirus and betanodavirus, have severely affected food products based on this species, causing heavy economic losses. Limited available information on the genomics of <it>E. coioides </it>has hampered the understanding of the molecular mechanisms that underlie host-virus interactions. In this study, we used a 454 pyrosequencing method to investigate differentially-expressed genes in the spleen of the <it>E. coioides </it>infected with Singapore grouper iridovirus (SGIV).</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Using 454 pyrosequencing, we obtained abundant high-quality ESTs from two spleen-complementary DNA libraries which were constructed from SGIV-infected (V) and PBS-injected fish (used as a control: C). A total of 407,027 and 421,141 ESTs were produced in control and SGIV infected libraries, respectively. Among the assembled ESTs, 9,616 (C) and 10,426 (V) ESTs were successfully matched against known genes in the NCBI non-redundant (nr) database with a cut-off E-value above 10<sup>-5</sup>. Gene ontology (GO) analysis indicated that "cell part", "cellular process" and "binding" represented the largest category. Among the 25 clusters of orthologous group (COG) categories, the cluster for "translation, ribosomal structure and biogenesis" represented the largest group in the control (185 ESTs) and infected (172 ESTs) libraries. Further KEGG analysis revealed that pathways, including cellular metabolism and intracellular immune signaling, existed in the control and infected libraries. Comparative expression analysis indicated that certain genes associated with mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK), chemokine, toll-like receptor and RIG-I signaling pathway were alternated in response to SGIV infection. Moreover, changes in the pattern of gene expression were validated by qRT-PCR, including cytokines, cytokine receptors, and transcription factors, apoptosis-associated genes, and interferon related genes.</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>This study provided abundant ESTs that could contribute greatly to disclosing novel genes in marine fish. Furthermore, the alterations of predicted gene expression patterns reflected possible responses of these fish to the virus infection. Taken together, our data not only provided new information for identification of novel genes from marine vertebrates, but also shed new light on the understanding of defense mechanisms of marine fish to viral pathogens.</p
