A Multivariate Training Technique with Event Reweighting
An event reweighting technique incorporated in multivariate training
algorithm has been developed and tested using the Artificial Neural Networks
(ANN) and Boosted Decision Trees (BDT). The event reweighting training are
compared to that of the conventional equal event weighting based on the ANN and
the BDT performance. The comparison is performed in the context of the physics
analysis of the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), which will
explore the fundamental nature of matter and the basic forces that shape our
universe. We demonstrate that the event reweighting technique provides an
unbiased method of multivariate training for event pattern recognition.Comment: 20 pages, 8 figure
-to-Glueball form factor and Glueball production in decays
We investigate transition form factors of meson decays into a scalar
glueball in the light-cone formalism. Compared with form factors of to
ordinary scalar mesons, the -to-glueball form factors have the same power in
the expansion of . Taking into account the leading twist light-cone
distribution amplitude, we find that they are numerically smaller than those
form factors of to ordinary scalar mesons. Semileptonic ,
and decays are subsequently investigated. We
also analyze the production rates of scalar mesons in semileptonic decays
in the presence of mixing between scalar and glueball states. The
glueball production in meson decays is also investigated and the LHCb
experiment may discover this channel. The sizable branching fraction in , or could be a clear signal for a scalar glueball
state.Comment: 17 pages, 3 figure, revtex
Improving the quality of publications in and advancing the paradigms of clinical and social pharmacy practice research: The Granada Statements
Improving the quality of publications in and advancing the entire paradigms of clinical and social pharmacy practice research: the Granada statements; [Améliorer la qualité des publications et faire progresser l'ensemble des paradigmes de la recherche sur la pratique clinique et sociale de la pharmacie: les déclarations de Grenade]
Pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences embrace a series of different disciplines. Pharmacy practice has been defined as the scientific discipline that studies the different aspects of the practice of pharmacy and its impact on health care systems, medicine use, and patient care. Thus, pharmacy practice studies embrace both clinical pharmacy and social pharmacy elements. Like any other scientific discipline, clinical and social pharmacy practice disseminates research findings using scientific journals. Clinical pharmacy and social pharmacy journal editors have a role in promoting the discipline by enhancing the quality of the articles published. As has occurred in other health care areas (i.e., medicine and nursing), a group of clinical and social pharmacy practice journal editors gathered in Granada, Spain to discuss how journals could contribute to strengthening pharmacy practice as a discipline. The result of that meeting was compiled in these Granada Statements, which comprise 18 recommendations gathered into six topics: the appropriate use of terminology, impactful abstracts, the required peer reviews, journal scattering, more effective and wiser use of journal and article performance metrics, and authors selection of the most appropriate pharmacy practice journal to submit their work. Ward Identities, B-> \rho Form Factors and |V_ub|
The exclusive FCNC beauty semileptonic decay B-> \rho is studied using Ward
identities in a general vector meson dominance framework, predicting vector
meson couplings involved. The long distance contributions are discussed which
results to obtain form factors and |V_ub|. A detailed comparison is given with
other approaches.Comment: 30 pages+four postscript figures, an Appendix adde
Present and Future CP Measurements

Hadron Spectroscopy: Theory and Experiment
Many new results on hadron spectra have been appearing in the past few years
thanks to improved experimental techniques and searches in new channels. New
theoretical techniques including refined methods of lattice QCD have kept pace
with these developments. Much has been learned about states made of both light
(u, d, and s) and heavy (c, b) quarks. The present review treats light-quark
mesons, glueballs, hybrids, particles with a single c or b quark, charmonium,
and bottomonium states. Some prospects for further study are noted.Comment: 29 pages, 9 figures, to be published in Journal of Physics G. Further

First Observation of CP Violation in B0->D(*)CP h0 Decays by a Combined Time-Dependent Analysis of BaBar and Belle Data
We report a measurement of the time-dependent CP asymmetry of B0->D(*)CP h0
decays, where the light neutral hadron h0 is a pi0, eta or omega meson, and the
neutral D meson is reconstructed in the CP eigenstates K+ K-, K0S pi0 or K0S
omega. The measurement is performed combining the final data samples collected
at the Y(4S) resonance by the BaBar and Belle experiments at the
asymmetric-energy B factories PEP-II at SLAC and KEKB at KEK, respectively. The
data samples contain ( 471 +/- 3 ) x 10^6 BB pairs recorded by the BaBar
detector and ( 772 +/- 11 ) x 10^6, BB pairs recorded by the Belle detector. We
measure the CP asymmetry parameters -eta_f S = +0.66 +/- 0.10 (stat.) +/- 0.06
(syst.) and C = -0.02 +/- 0.07 (stat.) +/- 0.03 (syst.). These results
correspond to the first observation of CP violation in B0->D(*)CP h0 decays.
The hypothesis of no mixing-induced CP violation is excluded in these decays at
the level of 5.4 standard deviations.Comment: 9 pages, 2 figures, submitted to Physical Review Letter
