Use of Supplemental Audiovisual Materials with Remedial Science Students
This project was undertaken to determine if the use of supplemental audiovisual materials would benefit identified remedial seventh grade science pupils. Two experimental groups of remedial pupils were presented various amounts of supplemental audiovisual materials. Both groups were then compared to a control group of remedial pupils receiving no experimental treatment. The results showed support for the hypothesis that there would be no significant difference in learning when supplemental audiovisual materials were used
The search for universal truth in art though the costume design of CalReps' production of “And the War Came”
This project report examines the artist's search for truth within their art as realized by the costume designs in CalRep's world premier of And the War Came. The production was written by California State University, Long Beach Theatre Department Graduate Students as a tribute to the Army National Guard and performed at The Long Beach National Guard Armory, April 24-May 9, 2009. I intend to demonstrate my understanding of the process of finding a universal truth in art by the search for truth in general, the transformation from reality to intentional design, and in so doing discovering the emotion and imagery in the piece in order to convey to the audience a subtle, yet powerful connection to the characters in the play
Induced potassium transport in the human erythrocyte
Induced potassium transport in the human erythrocyte was investigated. It is shown that transport induced by volume increase is chloride dependent. Furosemide experimentation confirms the effects of volume regulation are due to a cotransport mechanism. Propranolol studies confirm an additive effect when combined with volume change, revealing no interference. Activation by propranolol involves a phosphatase, thus rendering its activation effect similar to volume regulated activation. Charybdotoxin and TMO studies determine that propranolol only activates the co-transport mechanism
