    DURASI ( DUTA LITERASI ) UPAYA TINGKATKAN BUDAYA LITERASI WARGA SMPN 40 SURABAYA

    The low level of literacy both nationally and in school culture requires schools to find solutions and innovations to drive a culture of literacy among students and the community. Therefore the principal must have an innovation program. One of the innovations raised is the Literacy Ambassador or DURASI, where this literacy ambassador will later help the school unit, namely the library, to increase literacy participation among students, especially SMPN 40 Surabaya. This Literacy Ambassador was taken because of the need for a literacy program that is able to increase student participation, therefore by involving students in one of the school programs so that the level of student participation increases. This program has the advantage of being close to students because students will be socialized and encouraged by their peers and support from the school so that this program will be very effective if implemented and aims to increase student participation in school literacy. The implementation of the DURASI program can increase the participation of students and school members where there are 3 published books made by school residents, students, and the School Committee. In addition, there are also collections of short stories made by students

    THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SCIENTIFIC APPROACH TO TEACH SPEAKING TO JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS (A Case Study at the Seventh Grade Students of SMP Negeri 12 Surakarta in Second Term of 2014/2015 Academic Year)

    The obectives of this study are: (1) finding out whether or not the teaching documents (syllabus, lesson plan, materials, and students’ evaluation) in accordance with the rules of constructing scientific approach based teaching documents set by the government; (2) comprehending whether or not the stages of the teaching learning in the classroom in accordance with the order of scientific approach: Observing, Questioning, Experimenting, Associating, Communicating, Creating (OQEACC); (3) knowing how the interaction go (interaction among students and interaction between teacher and students); (4) understanding the difficulties experienced by the teacher in implementing the new curriculum and find out the solution of the difficulties; (5) discerning the students’ speaking achievement in 2013 Curriculum. This study employs case study method which had been conducted to seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 12 Surakarta. The result of this study are: (1) the teaching documents, consisting of syllabus, lesson plan, materials, and evaluation are made appropriately according to the rules of constructing scientific approach based teaching documents set by the government; (2) the steps of scientific approach in the classroom are not always completely implemented and do not always run in the order of OQEACC, moreover the questioning step does not happen in the class; (3) types of teacher-student interaction are imitative, intensive, responsive, transactional, and interpersonal; while types of student-student interaction are intensive, transactional, interpersonal, and extensive; (4) the difficulties found are: making students ask question in questioning step; the condition that students are not courageous enough to speak, having low inquiry skill, and limited knowledge in English makes them not able to produce spoken English well; and the limitation of the course book content (5) the students’ achievement on speaking shows that 87.93% of 116 students have scores which are above the passing grade determined by the school, which is 67. From the finding, it is known that there are some points to notice toward scientific approach implementation, such as the completeness and the sequence of scientific approach steps, the difficulties, and the materials.     MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA ANAK USIA DINI MELALUI OPTIMALISASI PENGGUNAAN MEDIA PAPAN FLANEL

    Penelitian ini dilakukan pada anak kelompok A di TK Al Furqon kecamatan Bandung Kulon, dengan jumlah subjek penelitian 12 orang anak yang berusia 4-5 Tahun. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah Untuk mengetahui kemampuan membaca anak, Penggunaan media papan flannel dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca anak , serta Peningkatan kemampuan membaca anak kelompok A di TK Al Furqon Bandung. Berdasarkan hasil observasi dan wawancara kemampuan membaca anak yang sebelumnya masih ada anak yang tertukar dalam menyebutkan huruf m dan n, membedakan simbol huruf kecil dan huruf besar yaitu a dan q, anak masih kesulitan dalam membaca rangkaian huruf dalam kata. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dan melakukan kolaborasi dengan guru kelas. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan menggunakan instrumen penelitian berupa pedoman observasi. Penelitian dilakukan dengan empat tahap yaitu tahap perencanaan, tahap pelaksanaan, tahap observasi dan refleksi. Kondisi awal kemampuan membaca anak di kelompok A TK Al-Furqon masih belum terstimulasi secara maksimal, sehingga masih banyak anak yang mengalami kesulitan dalam membaca dengan presentase kategori kurang (K)56%, kategori cukup (C)23%, dan kategori baik (B)21 %. Namun setelah diberikan kegiatan membaca melalui media papan flanel, kemampuan membaca pada anak mengalami peningkatan secara signifikan. Presentase kemampuan membaca anak dalam kategori kurang (K)6%, kategori cukup (C)12%, dan kategori baik (B)82%. Dari hasil penelitian tersebut maka media papan flanel dapat direkomendasikan bagi pendidik anak usia dini untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca anak. --- This study was conducted on children in group A at TK Al Furqon districts of west Bandung, with a number of research subjects 12 children aged 4-5 years. The purpose of this study is To determine ability of read the children in group A , use of media boards flannel in improving the reading skills of children in group A, and Improved reading skills of children in group A at TK Al Furqan Bandung. Based on observations and interviews before reading skills of children are still children who are swapped in naming the letters m and n, distinguishing symbols lowercase and uppercase letters a and q, the child is still difficulty in reading series letter in a word. However, after reading the child can still do activities correctly even though previously had to be guided by the teacher but the longer the child can do their own without the help of teachers. The method used in this research is the method of classroom action research and to collaborate with classroom teachers. The research data obtained by using research tools such as observation guidelines reading skills. The study was conducted with four phases: planning, implementation, observation and reflection stages. The initial condition reading skills of children in group A TK Al-Furqon still not stimulated to the maximum, so there are still many children who have difficulty in reading with percentages less category (K) 56%, enough category (C) 23% and good category (B) 21%. But after reading through the media given the flannel board, reading ability in children has increased significantly. Percentage reading skills of children in the poor category (K) 6%, enough category (C) 12% and good category (B) 82%. From these results, the media flannel board can be recommended for early childhood educators to improve the reading skills of children

The aim of this research is to obtain empirical data, valid and realiable fact concerning wheter or not there is correlation The Attitude Learning and Learning Outcomes. The research was conducted on students during the four months from March until June 2015. The research method used is survey method with the correlational approach. The sampling technique used is simple random technique. The population in this study is Student Vocational School District 40 East Jakarta with a population of affordable class X Marketing Studies Program and X Administration Vocational School District 40 East Jakarta as many as 72 students. Then based on a sample from the population tables, sampled as many as 58 people with a sampling error of 5%. Data analysis used the technique of correlation of Pearson product moment after it is analyzed to obtain the final results. The resulting regression equation is Y = 45,63 +0.318 X. Test requirements analysis of the normality test error of estimated regression of Y on X to produce liliefors test count Lcalculated = 0.065, while the Ltable for n = 58 significant at the 0.05 level is 0.116. Because the count Lcalculated Ftable, is 31,78 > 4.02, meaning that the regression equation is significant. Correlation coefficient of Pearson Product Moment generating rxy = 0,602, then performed the test value correlation coefficient by using t test and the resulting t count tcalculated > ttable, is 5,64 >1.68. It can be concluded that the correlation coefficient rxy = 0,602 is significant. The coefficient of determination obtained for 36.20% which shows that 36.20% variation student learning outcomes are determined by attitudes towards learning English language. The conclusion of this study is that there is a positive and significant relationship between attitude toward learning-learning outcomes English language of students Vocational School District 40 East Jakarta

    GAMBARAN POLA ASUH DAN PERTUMBUHAN BALITA PENDERITA GIZI BURUK PASCA DIRAWAT DI RUMAH GIZI SEMARANG

    Kota Semarang menempati posisi ketiga kasus gizi buruk tertinggi di Provinsi Jawa Tengah tahun 2013, sehingga Dinas Kesehatan membangun Rumah Gizi Semarang agar gizi buruk mendapat penanganan. Kegiatan di Rumah Gizi bertujuan untuk mengentaskan kasus gizi buruk. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menggambarkan pengetahuan, pola asuh, status imunisasi, riwayat penyakit, pertumbuhan dan kecukupan asupan balita penderita gizi buruk pasca dirawat di Rumah Gizi Semarang tahun 2014. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan desain cross-sectional. Subjek adalah 25 anak balita gizi buruk yang pernah dirawat di Rumah Gizi Semarang tahun 2014. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner, FFQ semikuantitatif, dan pengukuran berat badan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ibu balita memiliki pengetahuan baik (80%), dan pemberian makan persentase balita makan tidak sesuai porsi (100%), makanan yang disajikan tidak bervariasi (72%), imunisasi balita lengkap (80%), dengan riwayat penyakit diare (52%), ISPA (40%) dan tuberkulosis paru (24%). Rerata Tingkat kecukupan energi balita defisit 61,68+61%, tingkat kecukupan protein kurang 81,68+78% dan tingkat kecukupan lemak baik 95,48+92%. Rerata pertumbuhan balita di Rumah Gizi Semarang meningkat dari gizi buruk menjadi gizi kurang 48%, setelah keluar Rumah Gizi Semarang berat badan menurun sehingga balita yang mencapai gizi kurang tersisa 8%. Disimpulkan bahwa hampir tidak terdapat perubahan sebelum dan pasca perawatan di Rumah Gizi Semarang dimana balita masih menderita gizi buruk.     Conservation Status of Marine Biota Sold in Restaurants in Pangandaran Regency, West Java

    One of most potential activity regarding fisheries business in Pangandaran Regency is seafood restaurants which holds prospect for tourists. However, there are still many restaurants that sell conservationally-important biota. The purpose of this study is to identify the conservation status of marine biota sold in restaurants in Pangandaran Regency. Data was collected by observation or direct survey by purposive sampling in six seafood restaurants. The fish species were then identified for their conservation status based on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES). The identification results show that there were biotas included in the IUCN which were Lanjaman Shark (Carcharhinus sealei) with IUCN Appendix II CITES status, Black Fin Shark (Carcharhinus melanopterus) with IUCN Near Threatened (NT) status and Mobula Stingray (Mobula eregoodootenkee) with Endangered status. The results of this study indicated that conservation efforts need to be strengthened.

    Penerapan Metode Mind Mapping Untuk Meningkatkan Prestasi Belajar Gaya Dalam Pembelajaran IPA Kelas IV

    Hasil belajar siswa kelas IV UPT SD Negeri Srengat 01, tentang materi macam-macam gaya dalam pembelajaran IPA, kurang mencapai KKM 75, disebabkan penggunaan metode pembelajaran kurang bervariatif. Salah satu metode yang digunakan adalah metode mind mapping, metode ini digunakan karena dalam proses pembelajaran metode ini membuat catatan kecil bergambar sehingga dapat memotivasi dan meningkatkan minat belajar siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini menerapkan metode mind mapping untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar dalam pembelajaran IPA kelas IV. Dalam menguji efektivitas metode mind mapping dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa, Peneliti menempuh prosedur Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan 2 siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IV dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 29 siswa yang terdiri dari 13 siswa laki-laki dan 16 siswa perempuan. Setiap siklusnya menempuh empat tahapan berikut: (1) perencanaan, (2) pelaksanaan, (3) pengamatan, dan (4) refleksi. Melalui berbagai teknik dan instrumen pengumpulan data diperoleh hasil penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat diketahui prosentase ketuntasan belajar kelas IV, pada kegiatan pembelajaran pra siklus yaitu 31,00%. Pada siklus 1 meningkat menjadi 58,62%. Siklus 2 meningkat menjadi 89,65%. Berdasarkan keterangan diatas dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode mind mapping dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar tentang materi macam-macam gaya dalam pembelajaran IPA pada siswa kelas IV UPT SD Negeri Srengat 01
