The phase behaviour and spin states of [Fe(NCS)2(dpq)2] (1; dpq = dipyrido[3,2-f:2′,3′-h]quinoxaline), [Fe(NCS)2(dppz)2] (2; dppz = dipyrido[3,2-a:2′3′-c]phenazine) and [Fe(NCS)2(dppn)2] (3; dppn = dipyrido[3,2-a:2′3′-c]benzophenazine) have been investigated. Solvent-free 1 and 2 are isostructural and low-spin in the crystalline state, in contrast to previously published 2·py (py = pyridine) which exhibits a hysteretic spin-crossover (SCO) transition near 140 K. The inactivity of 1 and 2 towards SCO may relate to their more crowded intermolecular lattice environment, particularly two very short intermolecular anion⋯π contacts involving the NCS− ligands. Two solvate phases of 1 are also described, including 1·2py which undergoes gradual SCO with T½ca. 188 K. Bulk samples of 2 and 3 are predominantly low-spin and isostructural with the crystals of 2 by powder diffraction, but bulk samples of 1 contain an extra phase that exhibits hysteretic SCO, but was not crystallographically characterised. Crystal structures of low-spin [Fe(dppz)3][ClO4]2 (4) and a solvate of [Fe(dppn)3][BF4]2 (5) are also described, which are the first homoleptic complexes of these ligands to be crystallographically characterised

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to describe growth during puberty in young people with vertically acquired HIV. DESIGN: Pooled data from 12 paediatric HIV cohorts in Europe and Thailand. METHODS: One thousand and ninety-four children initiating a nonnucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor or boosted protease inhibitor based regimen aged 1-10 years were included. Super Imposition by Translation And Rotation (SITAR) models described growth from age 8 years using three parameters (average height, timing and shape of the growth spurt), dependent on age and height-for-age z-score (HAZ) (WHO references) at antiretroviral therapy (ART) initiation. Multivariate regression explored characteristics associated with these three parameters. RESULTS: At ART initiation, median age and HAZ was 6.4 [interquartile range (IQR): 2.8, 9.0] years and -1.2 (IQR: -2.3 to -0.2), respectively. Median follow-up was 9.1 (IQR: 6.9, 11.4) years. In girls, older age and lower HAZ at ART initiation were independently associated with a growth spurt which occurred 0.41 (95% confidence interval 0.20-0.62) years later in children starting ART age 6 to 10 years compared with 1 to 2 years and 1.50 (1.21-1.78) years later in those starting with HAZ less than -3 compared with HAZ at least -1. Later growth spurts in girls resulted in continued height growth into later adolescence. In boys starting ART with HAZ less than -1, growth spurts were later in children starting ART in the oldest age group, but for HAZ at least -1, there was no association with age. Girls and boys who initiated ART with HAZ at least -1 maintained a similar height to the WHO reference mean. CONCLUSION: Stunting at ART initiation was associated with later growth spurts in girls. Children with HAZ at least -1 at ART initiation grew in height at the level expected in HIV negative children of a comparable age

The complete molecule of the title compound, [Cu2(C2H3O2)2(CF3O3S)2(C12H8N2)2], is completed by the application of a twofold rotation and comprises two CuII ions, each of which is pentacoordinated by two N atoms from a bidentate 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligand, two O atoms from acetate ligands and an O atom from a trifluoromethanesulfonate anion, forming a (4 + 1) distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry. The CuII ions are connected by two acetate bridges in a syn–syn configuration. The F atoms of the trifluoromethanesulfonate ligands are disordered, with site-occupation factors of 70 and 30. The molecular structure is stabilized by intramolecular face-to-face π–π interactions with centroid–centroid distances in the range 3.5654 (12)–3.8775(12) Å. The crystal structure is stabilized by C—H...O interactions, leading to a three-dimensional lattice structure

Current status of psychiatric care in Thailand

Background: Psychiatric care in Thailand has been established for a long time. It started with Thai traditional medicine and care, and later, it has been integrated with Western knowledge. In this review, the authors intended to highlight how clinical services and training in Thailand have been adjusted in regard to a changing society, environment, and the world. Methods: The authors collected information from the literature relevant to psychiatric care in Thailand, including organizations in charge of the mental well-being of health-care professionals and the general public, prescribing patterns of psychotropic drugs, psychotherapy, other interventions, and gender diversity issues. Results: Psychiatric care in Thailand is consistently improving in collaborating and networking among organizations and societies to unite psychiatrists with common interests. New specialty and sub-specialty trainings are also offered in response to the demands of residents and fellows as well as patients. There are also more training centers in the central and regional areas of Thailand. Adjusting and strategically managing psychiatric care have been done to deal with service disruption from the COVID-19 pandemic. Interventions, including pharmacological management, different types of psychotherapy, repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation, and electroconvulsive therapy, have combined with Western knowledge and Eastern wisdom to deliver appropriate approaches for Thai people, including mental health care for patients with gender diversity. But the health security system and access to mental health care are areas are still needed to be further improved. Conclusion: Over the decades since mental health care has been recognized and increasingly aware, there are improvements in clinical services and academic training. The implementation of those services is still required to be monitored and improved for all populations in Thailand without discrimination

The title compound, [CdNa2(C8H4O4)2(C3H7NO)(H2O)2]n or [CdNa2(1,3-bdc)2(DMF)(H2O)2]n, is a new CdII–NaI heterobimetallic coordination polymer. The asymmetric unit consists of one CdII atom, two NaI atoms, two 1,3-bdc ligands, two coordinated water molecules and one coordinated DMF molecule. The CdII atom exhibits a seven-coordinate geometry, while the NaI atoms can be considered to be pentacoordinate. The metal ions and their symmetry-related equivalents are connected via chelating–bridging carboxylate groups of the 1,3-bdc ligands to generate a three-dimensional framework. In the crystal, there are classical O—H...O hydrogen bonds involving the coordinated water molecules and the 1,3-bdc carboxylate groups and π–π stacking between the benzene rings of the 1,3-bdc ligands present within the frameworks

Crystal structure and Hirshfeld surface analysis of a new mononuclear copper(II) complex: [bis(pyridin-2-yl-κN)amine](formato-κO)(m-hydroxybenzoato-κ2O,O′)copper(II)

A new mononuclear copper(II) complex, [Cu(C7H5O3)(HCO2)(C10H9N3)], containing mixed N- and O-donor ligands, 2,2′-dipyridylamine (dpyam) and m-hydroxybenzoate (m-OHbenz), has been obtained from a solvent mixture. The coordination environment of the CuII ion is distorted square-pyramidal with a [N2O3] coordination set originating from the chelating dpyam and m-OHbenz ligands in the basal plane and the O atom of a formato ligand at the apical position. The crystal structure of the title complex is stabilized by N—H...O, O—H...O, C—H...O hydrogen-bonding, π–π and C—H...π intermolecular interactions, which were quantified by Hirshfeld surface analysis

ObjectivesTo explore the prevalence and factors that contribute to burnout among Thai psychiatrists.BackgroundThe practice of psychiatry can lead to emotional fatigue. As rates of emotional illness in Thailand continue to climb, increasing demands are placed on a limited number of psychiatrists. This can lead to burnout, and multiple negative physical and mental health outcomes.Materials and methodsElectronic questionnaires were sent to all 882 Thai psychiatrists and residents via a private social media group managed by the Psychiatric Association of Thailand. The questionnaire included demographic data, the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI), the Proactive Coping Inventory, and questions about strategies that Thai psychiatrists believed reduce/prevent burnout.ResultsQuestionnaires were sent and 227 (25.7%) responded. According to MBI, 112 (49.3%) of respondents reported high level of emotional exhaustion, and 60 (26.4%) had a high level of depersonalization. Nearly all respondents (99.6%) maintained a high level of personal accomplishment. Working more than 50 hours per week (p = 0.003) and more patients per day (p = 0.20) were associated with higher levels of burnout. Feeling satisfied with work (pConclusionsCompared to a previous study on burnout among Thai psychiatrists in 2011, in this study, the prevalence of high levels of burnout had increased dramatically from 17.1% to 49.3%. An intervention to decrease workload, strengthen social support and encourage proactive coping mechanisms may be beneficial for relieving burnout
