We show a summary about Bronze Age in the island of San Fernando. Archaeological basis are analyzed to study the societies of the midle of the second millennium B.C. They are peripheric communities who live in the island, where they use natural resources, fundamentally molluscs,
which generate an important agriculture, so there is a clear relation of dependence with regard to a nuclear center in the interior contryside
Influence of a Multidisciplinary Program of Diet, Exercise, and Mindfulness on the Quality of Life of Stage IIA-IIB Breast Cancer Survivors
Background: Integrative oncology has proven to be a useful approach to control cancer symptoms and improve the
quality of life (QoL) and overall health of patients, delivering integrated patient care at both physical and emotional levels.
The objective of this randomized trial was to evaluate the effects of a triple intervention program on the QoL and lifestyle
of women with breast cancer. Methods: Seventy-five survivors of stage IIA-IIB breast cancer were randomized into 2
groups. The intervention group (IG) received a 6-month dietary, exercise, and mindfulness program that was not offered
to the control group (CG). Data were gathered at baseline and at 6 months postintervention on QoL and adherence
to Mediterranean diet using clinical markers and validated questionnaires. Between-group differences at baseline and 3
months postintervention were analyzed using Student’s t test for related samples and the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney U
tests. Results: At 6 months postintervention, the IG showed significant improvements versus CG in physical functioning
(p = .027), role functioning (p = .028), and Mediterranean diet adherence (p = .02) and a significant reduction in body
mass index (p = .04) and weight (p = .05), with a mean weight loss of 0.7 kg versus a gain of 0.55 kg by the CG (p = .05).
Dyspnea symptoms were also increased in the CG versus IG (p = .066). Conclusions: These results demonstrate that an
integrative dietary, physical activity, and mindfulness program enhances the QoL and healthy lifestyle of stage IIA-IIB breast
cancer survivors. Cancer symptoms may be better managed by the implementation of multimodal rather than isolated
interventions. Background: Integrative oncology has proven to be a useful approach to control cancer symptoms and improve the

Studies of the prehistory of the area of La Janda (province of Cadiz) were carried out at the beginning of this century from the perspective of Cultural Historicism. Our group has done systematic archaeological surveys and rescue excavations during this decade, with the aim of studying the historical process of the hunter-gatherer, tribal and early class societies that lived in the Atlantic Band of Cadiz. The application of geoarchaeological and archaeometric techniques to the study of the archaeological products and the mineralogical and petrological analyses of the raw materials, as well as the geological ones, allow us to glimpse interesting aspects about the historical and economic process of these social formations.
Towards a Sustainable Campus: Working Together to Achieve the Green Campus Flag on the UDC Peripheral Campus of Ferrol
[Abstract] Purpose. This paper aims to present and describe the main actions carried out in six different faculties and common areas such as cultural and research centres and administrative buildings in the Ferrol campus at the University of A Coruña to achieve the second green flag on a Galician University.
Design/methodology/approach. A case study describing the steps for implementing a green campus programme in a medium-size, young university campus integrated into a small city. An Environmental Campus Committee was created to assess the main factors that affect environmental footprint, discuss sustainability initiatives and develop a guide to action regarding different goals related to sustainable transport options, energy, water conservation and waste reduction. The actions included several fields such as education, circular economy and healthy life and involved the on and off-campus community.
Findings. The programme achieved a decrease in water consumption and electrical energy. An important change in educational values and behaviours regarding sustainability was observed in and out of the campus community. The measurements adopted mainly in waste management, mobility and education led the Ferrol campus to achieve a green campus flag on November 2019.
Originality/value. This experiment can serve as a guide to establish the Green Campus philosophy in other similar university campuses. The authors of this article want to thank the finantial and institutional support of Environmental Office of University of A Coruña to develop talks, activities and to implement different actions in Ferrol Campus. The authors of this article want to thank the finantial and institutional support of Vicerrectorado del Campus de Ferrol y Responsabilidad Social of University of A Coruña to achieve the Green Flag.
