Poetry which is painting: Literary ekphrasis in Exposición by Olvido García Valdés

The poems of Olvido García Valdés’s Exposición are based on paintings. This paper analyzes this set of poems paying special attention to the relationship established in them between poetry and painting through literary ekphrasis. In the first part we approach the ekphrasis from a theoretical point of view, trying to offer a definition of this concept, reflect on its theoretical implications and make some methodological considerations. In the second part, the poems are analyzed addressing aspects such as the importance of the paratextual elements, the selection of painters and works that are described, the formal characteristics of the ekphrastic descriptions or the dialectics between the different artistic languagesEn Exposición de Olvido García Valdés los poemas están basados en cuadros. Este artículo analiza este conjunto de poemas atendiendo a la relación que se establece en ellos entre poesía y pintura a través de la écfrasis literaria. En la primera parte estudiamos la écfrasis desde un punto de vista teórico, intentando ofrecer una definición de este concepto, reflexionar sobre sus implicaciones teóricas y realizar algunas consideraciones metodológicas. Canon literario y enseñanza de literatura a estudiantes de ELE : selecciones de textos y modelos de lectura

Este artículo se propone como principal objetivo abordar, desde una perspectiva práctica, uno de los principales problemas que se le plantean a un profesor cuando tiene que preparar un curso específico de literatura destinado a estudiantes de ELE. Se trata de la cuestión del canon literario, que se relaciona con dos tareas del profesor: la selección de los textos que los alumnos tendrán que leer y la enseñanza de los modelos de lectura tradicionales del ámbito hispánico. Además, como introducción al tratamiento de este problema, llevaremos cabo una breve reflexión teórica sobre las especificidades de la enseñanza de la literatura a estudiantes extranjeros.The main objective of this article is to address, from a practical perspective, one of the main problems that a teacher faces when he has to prepare a specific course on literature for students of Spanish as a foreign language. This is the question of the literary canon, which is related to two teaching tasks: the selection of texts that students will have to read and the teaching of Hispanic traditional reading models. Besides, as an introduction to this topic, we will develop a brief theoretical reflection on the the specificities of teaching literature to foreign students

La estrategia low cost: el caso de Vueling

El presente trabajo de investigación se centrará en un análisis particular del sector de las líneas aéreas a través de herramientas conceptuales tales como, la cadena de valor de Porter, el Marketing Mix e identificaremos los tipos de estrategias competitivas, con la ayuda de estas herramientas conoceremos en caso de Vueling en profundidad. The role of fire in the formation of soil organic matter in tropical and subtropical climatic zones

Comunicación oral presentada en el European Geosciences Union General Assembly 2016 Vienna, Austria | 17–22 April 2016In tropical and subtropical areas, natural and prescribed vegetation fires lead to a considerable input of charcoal into soils. Whereas it is well accepted that an immediate effect of charcoal input represents the enhancement of the aromaticity of the soil organic matter (SOM) in particular of the topsoils, our knowledge about the long-term impact of this material on the humification processes is still scarce. Analyzing the SOM along various profiles of soils in Southern, Central and Northern Brazil indicated an ubiquitous presence of pyrogenic organic matter (PyOM) down to the C horizons. Interestingly, in several soils lower charcoal contributions were found in the topsoils than in the deeper horizons. Solid-state 13C and 15N NMR revealed that this PyOM is highly carboxylated. Most tentatively, charcoal was efficiently oxidized and biodegraded at the surface turning it into a more humus-like substance. However, some of the degradation products must have been transported into deeper soil regions where they were selectively preserved. Possibly, the oxygen depletion in subsoils or the interaction of oxidized PyOM with the mineral phase have increased its biochemical recalcitrance resulting in a preferential degradation of SOM derived from fire-unaffected sources. Our data clearly show that frequent charcoal addition can have a higher long-term impact on SOM of deeper soil horizons than commonly assumed. It may even represent an essential factor for defining the properties of such subsoil.Peer reviewe

Calderón en Lituania. «La vida es sueño» del director de escena Gintaras Varnas

El objetivo de este artículo es presentar y analizar el espectáculo La vida es sueño de Calderón del director lituano Gintaras Varnas (Teatro Dramático Nacional de Lituania, 2000). Por una parte, se aborda el espectáculo desde una perspectiva histórica, es decir, se expone su historia y las circunstancias que lo rodearon, la ficha artística, las decisiones del director, etc.; por otro, se realiza un trabajo analítico, esto es, se parte de los diferentes sistemas de signos que participan en la representación (texto literario y traducción; vestuario, escenografía e iluminación; música y sonido; y trabajo de los actores) para analizar la interpretación que ofrece Varnas de la obra de Calderón. The aim of this paper is to present and to analyze the representation of Calderón’s Life is a Dream by the Lithuanian director Gintaras Varnas (Lithuanian National Drama Theater, 2000). On the one hand, we approach the play from a historical perspective, since we explain its history and circumstances, the artistic report, the decisions of the director, etc.; on the other hand, we perform an analytical work examining Varnas’ interpretation of Calderón’s play through the analysis of the different systems of signs that participate in the representation: literary text and its translation; costumes; set design and lighting; music and sound; and actors’ work

Molecular order of air-stable p-type organic thin-film transistors by tuning the extension of the pi-conjugated core: the cases of indolo[3,2-b]-carbazole and triindole semiconductors

Charge transport in organic devices depends strongly on the molecular order and morphology of the organic semiconductor thin films. In the design of new organic semiconductors, the selection of the appropriate core plays a key role in the molecular packing and charge transport characteristics of the organic device. Four derivatives of carbazole that mainly differ in the extension of the pi-conjugated core, including indolo[3,2-b] carbazole and triindole derivatives, exhibited hole mobilities ranging from 10(-5) to 10(-2) cm(2) V-1 s(-1) as active layers in organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs). X-ray analyses of the single crystals and evaporated thin films gave insights into the molecular packing of the compounds that justified their OTFTs characteristics.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author’s final draft
